SUNDAY didn't quite go to plan and as I said on Saturday – well done if you landed any winners.

My Super Single was Real Madrid -1 and Barcelona and somehow Real failed at home to Eibar. If that wasn't bad enough Barcelona then crashed 4-3 at Celta Vigo after trailing 3-0 early doors.

My Top Treble was kept alive by Arsenal's last-gasp winner at Arsenal but Athletic Bilbao conceded two late goals at Malaga with 10 men when a draw would left me waiting on Roma who beat Inter. Such is life.

The saving grace for me was the golf Super Single I put up and Henrik Stenson beat Jordan Spieth as Europe were crushed by the Americans as expected.

Monday's a quiet one at the start of international week. I've looked at a few lower-league games and decided to try a double.

First up – and this has been mentioned on the site by a few – is both to score at Stuttgart v Greuther Furth. Greuther have conceded in all 10 of their away games in 2016 but also netted in their last 11 on the road in all competitions. Stuttgart are expected to win but stats say Greuther will score.

Add over 2.5 goals at Wil v Schaffhausen in the Swiss Challenge Cup. Again Wil are heavily favoured against a side who have conceded 11 goals in losing four of their last five.

If you have any tips for tonight please post them here.

Anyone still awake for MLS game at 1am. Vancover Whitecaps vs Seattle. I’m having a punt on Seattle’s left wing back Joevin Jones for first goal and anytime. To score first he is 50/1 with Paddy Power. Next best price is 25/1 but he’s a short as 11/1 with the likes of hills, lads and Skybet. Also to score anytime he’s 18/1 with Paddy Power. Next best price is 9/1 but he’s again as short as 7/2 with hills, lads and Skybet. The left wing back likes to get forward and although he’s only scored 2 goals in 30 appearances for Seattle he scored 28 goals in 55 appearances for his previous club W connection. Bottom line is his odds are double that of the next best price and miles away from any other bookie.

    Recommended Bets

JOEVIN JONES FIRST GOALSCORER @ 50/1

JOEVIN GOALS ANYTIME GOALSCORER @ 18/1

Also Hullshaker, Chad Marshall is 6ft 3 defender. He’s scored 4 goals already this season and is 40/1 first and 14/1 anytime also with Paddy Power

  7. chris guy 8 years ago

Hullshaker hope you managed to get a bet on mate. They’ve just cut Jones to 40/1 and 14/1 and Marshall to 33/1 and 12/1.

Wow never known a weekend where Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City & Utd, Bayern amongst many others did not win. I wonder when that last happened. Unusually had a nice 10 team Europa League Acca mid week so was confident for the weekend and got shafted the bookies must have big smiles on their faces today.

    France Ligue 2, 7.30pm

    Le Havre v Sochaux

I generally favour the BTTS market and odds look good for this considering its come up in Le Havre’s last 3 home league games, plus Sochaux only failing to find the net once out of their last 5 league away games

Very nearly a no bet day but will have a sensible stake on this

  16. saddler78 8 years ago

Hi Bullseye. You have inspired me to look at the darts as a substitute for the lack of football action and i will definitely be on your bets. Just looked on Skybet and they are offering 4/5 for MVG to win, hit highest checkout and score most 180’s. This looks to have a good chance but i am most definitely a part time follower of the darts. Any chance you can give me your thoughts on this one please mate.
    Cheers.

    • bullseye 8 years ago

Afternoon Saddler78, I agree the bet is a probable outcome. The only thing that would concern me is the relatively short format of first to two sets at this stage. Steve Beaton is a very capable operator who has hit high checkouts with decent amounts of maximums in TV tournaments before so whilst this bet would definately sail in in the later longer formats it’s hard to say if it will here as MVG could win without really needing to get out of first gear. Hope this helped and good luck today mate.

Not a lot around this evening and just one game that may be on the radar for goals although it’ll be a low stake effort…

    CAMBRIDGE CITY VS. HISTON:

Cambridge aren’t having the best of seasons but still sit a tier above tonight’s opponents Histon who are gaving an absolute horror show and sit fomly rooted to the foot of the table.

They have won only 3 of their last 23 in all compeitions and of the 9 games they have played so far during this campaign, they have drawn 2 and lost the other 7.

Goals-wise both teams are wide open but Histon again look even more vulnerable with 5 of the above mentioned 9 seeing them concede 4 or more goals!

The most recent previous H2H was lsst season and finished 2-1 to Histon but looks like they have taken a turn for the worse since then.

    Two selections to consider:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…19/20

    OVER 4.5 MGS…21/10

One bet from me Tonight and it comes from old favourites Feyenoord Reserves

Excelsior Rotterdam v Feyenoord KO 5.30pm

Back over 1.5 First half goals
    Over 3.5 match goals

Should be around evens of both

Dumfries YMCA in the south of Scotland league are a team I’ve followed from afar for a while due to their ineptitude.
This season they are on fire.
Played 12 lost 12, they have managed to notch 9 goals which delights me, but sadly have conceded 71, which dissapoints me.
They lose by an average of 6-1 a game.

If there are any Chinese businessman out there looking for a club, please lob a few quid the way of Dumfries YMCA.
I’m sure they would name the dugout after the owner as a thank you.

  35. nathanufton 8 years ago

My 4 fold being tripped up with a late stoke goal, I’ve had a gander at the weekend and Derby are home against Leeds.
Both teams, well there’s no love lost between them and with Derby upping their workrate/flow and attacking threat, I can see a narrow Derby win – which should be their first home win of the season.
Derby picked up 2 very late yellow cards after we conceded on 89mins 49 seconds. Reading bossed the possession but Derby had Reading rattled every time we went forward. That final pass just kept being just that yard too long. It was promising progress and 4 points from 6 is a good tally from 2 away games, especially with Reading having some impressive wins against some of the promotion contenders.
What I did see for the first time was some bite in the Derby squad, Christie was upping his workrate in right wing back but the final pass wasn’t quite there, Olsson retook his place from his stand-in Max Lowe, and there’s Shackell racing back towards fitness to bolster our defence. Bryson was absent for the last 2 matches but not sure on where he is with what injury, I’ll look into it.
Bent seems to of dropped down the pecking order – which is good for the likes of Man Utd loanee – Wilson, Anya, Vydra, Ince and Blackman have all notched, I’d like to see Russell find his old shooting boots because when he puts a shift in, it makes the difference. We’ve a bit spoilt for choice in midfield and attack, its just the defence that needs to follow suit.
What was evident from the last match was on 90 minutes, we were on 2-2 for yellow cards, it ended 4-2 to the rams and I think either 6-4 or 6-5 to reading on the corners. The passing wasn’t as crisp, that needs to improve, but the bite in the midfield is there.
I predicted Leeds would get the better of Barnsley on the back of them shedding their assistant manager and they did just that with a 2-1 win. Leeds like Derby are a bit in a false position and I think again, I shall be on the overs cards market in that match + a Derby win double.
We did more than enough to win it and we really started to carve out chances after 35 mins of chasing the ball.
It would be good to see what a Leeds fans perspective on this is and maybe between us, we can come to an arrangement/agreement for the benefit of the site on how we think this will pan out.
Corners and cards for derby Pre-Powell – we were a bit limp, it seems we’re now adding to both those tallies.
