JOHNB had a winning nap on Tuesday with Important Point landing at 10-11 after a rule four.

    Timeform comments:

Al (4 out of 5 stars): Showed improved form to open his account in 12f handicap on the July Course earlier this summer. Up in the weights and found life tougher in the Melrose Stakes at York, but this a fair bit easier.
    Form: 34-0217
Race commentary: flat, 1m 6f 15y. Bumper-winner MR KITE shaped a good deal better than the end result on handicap debut over a marathon trip at Pontefract earlier this month, so could well be the answer back down in distance. This is a drop in class for Al, so he has to be feared, along with in-form C&D winner Slunovrat.

Vesuvhill (5 out of 5 stars): Much improved when landing a 2m handicap at Warwick in January, but struggled in 3 hurdle races after. Shaped quite well on chase debut in May (25f) and this trip should be ideal.
    Form: P1756-3
Race commentary: chase, 2m 5f 44y. VESUVHILL promises to make up into a better chaser, and returning over a more suitable trip, could well be the answer with doubts hanging over main rivals Road To Freedom and Gold Man.

    1.40 Fakenham BASILIC D’ALENE 10/1 ew

This might be a real shot in the dark but ive had a small ew on this one. His last run certainly wouldnt fill me with any confidence but previous to that he was 2nd in a bumper to PERSIAN DELIGHT who then went to aintrees National meeting to contest a grade 2 bumper and was fav for that race. The trainer hasnt had a runner here since 2012 and that is his only runner ever at the track (from what i can see) but it won. The booking of Dicky Johnson has also caught my eye. Yes the fav looks strong and will probably win but at the price not for me.

Will be back for Dundalk but until then
    Best of luck to all

Hello JohnB with the breeders Juv cup arriving in a couple of day’s was curious on your thoughts on the race are you still feeling quietly confident about Hollywood Don ? i remember seeing a post earlier in the week where you said he has a good kick and prefers turf a fact most bookies seem to of overlooked i managed to back him at 16/1 went £25 each way tempted to stick another £20 on the win but im just curious has to your insight is he just good value or you think hes in with a real shot. Only ask because as i say i remember seeing that earlier post and you reckoned he would drop to around 6/1 but doesn’t seem to of been much movement has of yet although he is at 7/1 with a few bookies.

Good shout on the Nap yesterday. Keep up the good work mate thanks again for all the profit over last few months.

Mr Fix it anynews on a date for the new site mate im eager to get signed up :).

Golden Horn is in America and has already had a run out on the Keeneland polytrack and was said to be looking really well as he tries to become the first Arc winner to win the Breeders Cup Turf race

Five Arc winners have lined up for the Turf a few weeks later but all have been beaten and only one, Trempolino in 1987, has finished in the first three.

Dancing Brave was fourth in 1986,
    Saumarez fifth in 1990,
Subotica was also fifth in 1992 and
Dylan Thomas sank without trace in the mud at Monmouth Park in 2007.

  22. johnb 12 months ago

Everywhere I look racing reporters are saying it’s going to be soft ground at Keeneland, it’s not good for Golden Horn, this rain will ruin his chances

Yes Keeneland has had a lot of rain and the going just now is soft
It’s rained since Saturday and is meant to rain all day Wednesday, but Golden Horn doesn’t run till Saturday
So we have 3 dry days Thursday, Friday, Saturday

It only takes 1 dry day at Keeneland to turn the ground back to good and they have 3 dry days forecast

KEENELAND on Saturday and probably even Friday will be at least good ground, maybe even better than good
So don’t listen to the so called experts because the ground will be fine

Watch it rain solid till Saturday now I have said that lol

Can’t follow John anymore. Put my eggs in one basket for too long. And it’s not an attack so the happy clappy club don’t need to comment . I chose to do follow John but simply can’t take the losses anymore hoping it’s going to turn. Lost over £3000 in horses in two months and it’s now at the point I can’t anymore , for anyone new to site follow all the guys on the site and split stakes or follow the tips you fancy most , following one tipster maybe wasn’t the best idea , I am now officially pumped. Have won with jb in the past but that seems a long long time ago. Good luck to everyone and all the best Mr F with new site. And hope you can turn it round John . X

    • PeteT 12 months ago

Really sorry to hear of your loses mate. That’s a heck of a lot to lose but it’s been a dreadful 2 months (some bad luck involved and definitely not the edge of good luck we’ve needed).

I know John will make long term profits and I still believe following him is a good move but you do sometimes need deep pockets (especially if you start following at the start of a bad run).

We really need a good November and December though to get back on track. I’ve lost almost 1/3 of my annual profit in September and October (in fact I cant recall 2 months of losses in the past) and with 46 points down we need the rub of the green now more than ever.

Let’s hope the turnaround starts tomorrow :)

Derek there’s no obligation to stick with John b, its every man for himself. best of luck

  71. Derek 12 months ago

100% cooldude and exactly what I said above. But I made that choice to go with and him alone on the horse front. And do not get me wrong I’ve had good times but recently there has hardly been a winner, more worryingly they are getting hammered. So as I said last week do I stick at it or just say £3000 gone time for a new approach

  72. Alanm 12 months ago

Derek pick your 4 best tipsters do a yankee every day to the value you can afford to lose and you will have more fun more big days 2 winners most times gets at least your money back try it and see and you will never loose 3 grand in two months paper trade even and see 4 times this year I have missed the big big one but 3 winners pays the bills.
Hope that helps KTF but not in one basket

Every tipster goes through a losing run, how good was or is Tom Segal (Pricewise) in the post. Built up huge profits, lost the lot! Now showing a loss from well over 100 odd points up. Templegate, printing money following his treble middle of last year, lost all those profits first few months this year. Levelled out now. Whatever you do, bet what you can afford, its a game, enjoy it. Use a sensible bank but don’t go overboard. Sad to see posts on here that people are losing. Keep it fun, its getting even harder to win money from the bookies, they don’t like giving it away!
