HIGH-FLYING Atlanta Falcons are primed to get their claws on another win in the Thursday night NFL showdown as they look to continue a perfect start to the season.

Selby is not know for his punching power and although wanting to impress on his US debut I think he is in for a tougher fight than what his 1/25 odds suggest. Being the bigger man he Will fight this on the outside where he will be comfortable with not many big shots being thrown and I can’t see an early stoppage against the tough Montiel this is more likely to go the distance
Devon Alexander is a much better fighter than Aaron Martinez and this is a must win for him too get his career back on track. Although not on his level Martinez has recently gone the distance with Robert Guerrero and is no mug. Alexander should approach this fight with caution as he cannot afford to slip up at this stage of his career and if so this 10 round fight should also be going to the cards.
I’m playing it safe with both fights and taking both to reach the 7th as there is pottential in both of a late stoppage but either of them going under 6 rounds is very unlikely i feel
Being a Welshman it hurts me to stay this but Selby is holding on to that belt for much longer. Montiel is an old dog and has mixed it with the best but the scorecards do not reflect how close that fight was. I really don’t think he has the quality of Santa Cruz , Lomachenko or mares ect I’m not adding Walters to that list as he is the best in that division and is moving up in weight anyway. I’m really hoping he gets better but I’m just not convinced as off yet.

Humble Tipper, Jets are like chalk and cheese. Good defense but you just don’t know how their offense will perform (Eagles game for example). It’s even more difficult when they’re playing a team who are the same as them, in just you don’t know how they’ll perform on the day (Redskins). I’d like to think that the Jets can win off of their bye week but not confident to add them to any of my bets.

Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook is terrible under pressure and needs time on the ball and Michigan should take advantage of this.

Michigan like to start fast and rack up some points then ease off late on but they can step it up again.

Kind of getting sick of all the ‘serve-bot’ tennis players starting to take over…they don’t even really play the sport in a classical sense, just bullet 1st serves. It’s changing the game. Players like Hewitt, Federer, are a dying breed. Taken over by serve-bots like Anderson, Isner, Rainic, etc.
Serve bots are sadly the future.I love to see them get toppled.

Falcons @ Saints
In an NFC South Division battle we’ll see the undefeated Atlanta Falcons head to New Orleans in the Super Dome. Last season this was the worst division in the league with the Carolina Panthers winning the division and headed to the playoffs with a losing record of 7-8. It looks a lot different this season with two teams undefeated through 5 weeks, the Falcons 5-0 and the Panthers 4-0 (had their bye week last week). The Saints overcame the Dallas Cowboys in OT in week 4 to get their first win on the board and this is their biggest game of the season so far.
The spread obviously suggests how close it should be and I think the Falcons will win. Which makes a case for the Brees passing yards on its own. The Falcons despite being 5-0 rank 29th in the league against the pass, with the Saints being 3rd in passing yards per game, that’ll mostly be due to them trailing most games and having to get the ball through the air to catch up as the time ticks off the clock, and I can see the same happening tonight. Drew Brees has thrown over 300 passing yards in 3 of their 4 games this season against teams that defend the ball in the air a lot more than the Falcons do. The Falcons average 288 yards against them per game, and most of their games have been against QB‘s who aren’t too highly rated. Sam Bradford (336) Brandon Weeden (232) Kirk Cousins (219) Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett combined for 382 yards against the Falcons, with Eli Manning picking up 292. You could argue that none of these QB‘s come close to Brees in passing talent, with the Saints QB finishing first in passing yards last year, second in 2013, first in 2012, first in 2011 and third in 2010. Admittedly Brees doesn’t have the receivers he used to have or the big mismatch which was Jimmy Graham but he is still find success will the likes of Snead and Cooks who are both averaging over 60 receiving yards per game this season.
On the other side of the ball the Saints aren’t fairing too well, hence their 1-4 start. They rank 23rd against the pass and 30th against the run, which is a good sign for Devonta Freeman fantasy owners. Freeman has jumped at his chance to impress since starting back Tevin Coleman went out with a rib injury in week 2, and since then he has been a man possessed with the ball in his hands. His last three games starting he has 539 total yards with 7 TD’s. That’s 179 yards per game against teams which generally handled running backs quite well until Freeman came to town (Giants and Redskins).
I think Freeman will be used a lot in both the running and passing game tonight and should get his total considering they aren’t too far ahead and pull him out of the game late on. However the main bet is the Brees passing yards and since their running game has yet to take off (29th in the league) and the Falcons being stout at stopping the run (1st in the league) Brees will be slinging it all over the place, even more so if the Saints are trailing by a TD or two in the second half.
Once again – well in Jordan – got Brees 305.5 with PP, nice call well done.

Before anyone thinks I am mad and comments with a “Julio think you are?!” given Saints D is very very unimpressive and that Julio has been absolutely tearing it apart this year in the league. There is method to my madness.
Jones is struggling with all sorts of injuries (toe and hammies) and after a short week, Falcons have also came out to say they will be monitoring Jones’s pitch count. So he could be pulled realistically, at any given moment. He could get hurt after the first play, Falcons could get a huge lead by half time, or saints could be up big, either way, he will probably be pulled. Although of course, he could also stay in the whole game, and faaak me and everybody else who thinks like me over.

is the best match up this week after golovkin v Lemule, cleverly is moving back down to the weight division where he ruled as world champion for a time before being destroyed by the top 1-3 p4p undefeated brutal puncher sergey kovalev and seemingly be never the same again, battles with depression and alcohol before attempting to try his hand unsuccessfully at Cruiser weight which is a huge weight difference and now back where he belongs, has decided he wants to take the tough road back in choosing to fight the tough pole fonfara, instead of a crack at the World title in the very beatable jurgen braehmer, (for less money)
If this was pre kovalev clev, i would pick him to win on points very confidently, however questions about his head and motivation make this a very tough pick, fonfara form wise has looked great recently stopping chavez jnr, however he is extremely beatable and his power isnt half what kovalev’s is, and the fact you are best known for beating up a fat chavez who clearly is fighting for burger money these days / getting beaten on points by stevenson isnt exactly great.

Mlac I watched both fights mate, I heard this morning too that Martinez was actually 40/1 on the exchange last night wich is crazy. Try and see if u can watch it it’s worth it , I know u lost out with you’re bet from that upset but I think as a boxing fan u would appreciate the result. Too many underdogs come away losing on the cards when they should have won fights but they got that one spot on. It’s getting tiring with all the big names underperforming and getting away with it from the scorecards that was a good result for the sport last night.

I would also say I don’t think serve bot is a fair term for Anderson, who is actually s very good all round player, especiall compared to the others of his size. nor do I think they are really taking over the game. the best young players out there are the likes of Coric, Thiem, Zverev and Rublev, all of whom are mobile, varied and technically accomplished and exciting players. Aside from Cilic a big server like that hasn’t really done anything since Ivanesevic 14 years ago

Atlanta go into the Superdome, knowing a win and the Saints are done. Last week Atlanta high octane offence struggled with Julio Jones unable to get involved in the game. It was their defence that saw them home, and now they will be confident facing a Saints Offence, that has had 10 turnovers this season.
The Falcons CB’s Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant will be looking to pick off Brees and shutting down the Saints WRs. Saints have conceded at least 26pts in 4 out their 5 games, and while the Falcons struggled last week they were averaging 34pts per game. Falcons O27.5pts for me at 10/11 Ladbrokes. I also like Falcons on the ML at 4/6 Titanbet.
My Prop bets are Devonta Freeman, Atlanta should run Freeman and Coleman to keep the crowd quiet and take the pressure of Julio. The Saints are also giving up 135yds per game on the ground and this season if Freeman carries for 15+ times he goes for over 100yds. On the short week, on the road, he could get 20 carries if they are in the game, I think they will be, he cover his O85.5yds at 5/6 Paddy Power.
I also like the Saints RB Mark Ingram to cover his line. Saints want to stall this high powered offence of Atlanta, as their defence is shocking, so they need to pound Ingram and Spiller on the ground and keep Matty Ice off the field. WR Colston is out so even more reason to pound the run. As long as the Saints aren’t blown away early I can see Ingram having a big first half, and he can cover his line of O55.5yds 10/11 Ladbrokes. I like both props to score so Ingram anytime is 3/4 at 888sport and whilst I think Atlanta will win I am on the Freeman wincast at 13/8 Coral.

Jordan, 85.5yds most of the day, even early this evening, I put it on this afternoon, so don’t know why the drift. I never saw it go above 90yds to be honest and I don’t know why it would have, even the late money for Saints only came in the last couple hours.

They were def 90 an hour before mate because I checked around to see what the lowest were but I know they were 85 this afty.
I fancied a high scorer mate, total points was 51.5 and I fancied the overs, but couldn’t find out properly out fit Jones was. He was always going to play but would he get rested in the 4th. His line was 82.5yds if he hadn’t be Questionable all week or if this would have been played on a Sunday, I would have been all over it. I took team points instead. Julio has 50+ already on two drives.
I saw BigB put up about going on Julio under but seemed a bit of a death wish no matter how fit. Could be done in two drives. But not on this one. That’ll cut Colemans snaps a bit for this one :)

Can’t see Freemans total coming in to be honest gents. Reason why I backed Brees yards with 3 points and only 1.1 on Freeman. Thought he’s get more receiving yards.

Ash they won’t pass mate. Saints will chew the clock by running the ball and Atlanta will have to pass every down if they want to win. Only look Freeman will get will be checkdowns or screens and hopefully pick up a big gain.

Cheers gents. Got to be honest I thought the score would be the opposite and my thought process towards the bets were completely reversed, but you always need a bit of luck and I got that tonight.
