OCT 13: CRICKET AND OTHER SPORTS TIPS

Cricket

ENGLAND are without injured fast bowler Steven Finn for the first Test against Pakistan this morning.

The three-match series gets under way in Abu Dhabi at 7am UK time and England are 9-4 at 10bet and Titanbet to get off to a winning start against the 11-8 favourites (Coral).

For series victory it’s England at 3-1 with Sportingbet while Pakistan are 11-13 at Unibet. Joe Roots leads the top English batsman betting at 9-4 with Skybet followed by Alastair Cook (7-2, Betfred) and Moeen Ali (6-1, Ladbrokes, William Hill).

It’s also a busy morning of action at the Shanghai Masters tennis where pick of the matches include Richard Gasuqet against Gilles Muller and Marin Cilic versus Borna Coric.

British No.1 Johanna Konta sufferd a disappointing defeat in Linz qualifying yesterday and today it’s No.2 Heather Watson bidding to make round two of the Hong Kong Open. Watson is 3-10 at Sportingbet to get the better of world N0.191 Kai-Lin Zhang of China, a 16-5 underdog at Unibet.

There’s also Stateside sport throughout the night so let’s hear all your tips and thoughts and good luck with your bets.

I really like the chances of Pakistan to have the highest opening partnership and win the test at 3-1 @ William Hills.

With the heat, their lack of preparation and a makeshift opening partnership, England have got a lot to do to be competitive.

Also at 3-1 (with Betway), Zulfiqar Babar to be top Pakistan bowler is a decent price with Yasir Shah injured.

    Le’Veon Bell (Steelers) Over 125.5 Rush & Receiving Yards @ 10/11 @ Ladbrokes – 2.2 points **WIN** 127

    Antonio Gates (Chargers) & Le’Veon Bell (Steelers) Both to score a TD @ 7/2 @ Skybet – 0.5 a point **WIN**

The winners thread! Good stuff this week gents.

    * Le’Veon Bell Over 98.5 Rushing Yards @ 10/11

    **WON**

Nothing fancy about this one everything points to Bell having a big game tonight against the Chargers who have been hopeless stoping the ground game. I expect a big game from Bell and like him to get a couple TDs too

    NFL (Sunday)

Kansas City Chiefs @ Minnesotta Vikings

    * Minnesotta Vikings -3.5 @ 20/21

With Jamaal Charles out for the Chiefs with an apparent ACL tear there season is basically finished in my opinion. Although not confirmed yet his injury looked preety bad. The Chiefs offense is more or less solely based around Charles, when he got taken of against the Bears they came back to win the game and were outscored 15 – 0 wich shows how reliant on him they are. The Vikings on the other hand have been impressive this season after a poor start against the 49ers and were unluckly not to come away with a win on the road to the Broncos last week. There defence is improving and watching the Chiefs strugle last week in the red zone and being restricted to only FGs against the Bengals there going to have a hard time getting points on the board Without their star man. Vikings are coming off a bye week with an almost full strength team and this ever improving team should put the Chiefs to bed at home where they have won there 2 games in Minneapolis this season by double digit margains

Repost from yester day Jamal Charles is now officialy confirmed out for the season so expect this spread to drop

a third milestone occurred in this week’s rankings: Michigan is ahead of Michigan State for the first time.
The Wolverines jumped 11 spots to No. 9 after shutting out previously unbeaten Northwestern on Saturday.
Only three one-hundredths of a place separated Michigan and Michigan State, who meet at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Ann Arbor.

  12. Johnb 1 year ago

4 out of 5 this week for my Nfl tips, only loser was the Nap as Dallas turned out to be far worse than even I expected

New England though scored over 28.5 points at 5/6 & New York Giants scored over 24.5 points at 1/1

I also put up New York Giants as my season Nap to win the Nfc East title at 9/4 & they are now 13/8

I also like my college football and I now think it’s time to tip Michigan Wolverines to win the BCS CHAMPIONSHIP

Michigan are now a team transformed by Jim Harbaugh, after a season opening loss to Utah the Wolverines have won their last five games scoring 160 points “average 32 a game” & conceding just 14 points
Michigan have also just achieved their third consecutive shutout & but for a 4th quarter touchdown it could have been 4 shutouts

Up next for Michigan is Michigan State in the Big House and it has to be a Wolverine win as at the moment Michigan Wolverines are playing better football than BCS favourites Ohio State

    NCAA (college football)

Michigan State at Michigan (Saturday 8:30pm)

MICHIGAN -6.5 to win on handicap 10/11 Ladbrokes

    Bcs Championship Winner

    MICHIGAN 14/1 Paddy Power

    Heisman Trophy winner

    TREVONE BOYKIN 12/1 Paddy Power

Leonard Fournete is the hot 4/7 favourite to win the Heisman Trophy but don’t give up on Trevone Boykin just yet

Pakistan to win the 1st test at 13/10 looks good. They have an excellent record at Abu Dhabi and hammered England the last time they were out there. Can take the draw no bet to be safe.

Agree with Johnb’s Misbah tip too as he loves this ground and wouldn’t be surprised to see him score a century.

No way would i put anything on Cilic after his horrible display yesterday. And have you seen Coric’s form? Coric should win this one in straight sets mate! Cilic should be ashamed to even appear on court after his display yesterday. Im on Coric to win @ around $2.50

  27. Rivers 1 year ago

Oh man, never has such a bookie bashing been so painful. Gutted. Recommended bets:

Antonio Brown u84.5 yards @ 10/11 WON – Jason Verrett THE BEST corner in the league. Has now held Megatron, AJ Green and Antonio Brown to about 120 yards between them in three games. He got completely burned on a shallow crossing route for 39 yards and outside of that Brown had about 5 yards. Bear in mind the Chargers played 8 in the box at times to try to stop Bell, JV was covering the leagues best receiver 1on 1 and completely shut him down in the second half. This was Verrett’s 10th game in the league. Wow!!

Heath Miller o29.5 yards @ 4/5 WON – Almost won on the Steeler’s first play of the game.

Miller TD @ 17/10 LOST – He was half a yard short!

Gates TD @ Eves at 365, 7/4 at PP – WON

    Gates o44.5 yards @ 10/13 – WON

Bet of the night – Gates 2+ TD’s @ 9/1 at 365, bigger elsewhere – WON – Booom. Just wish it was under better circumstances!

I should point out to those who are relatively new to tennis betting, that from this tune of year onwards you do get some funny results so stake sensibly. Upsets are never more common than at the end of a long season, and you get some surprise tournament winners out of nowhere, especially on the women’s side of things.

But I’m confident Federer is just teasing!

  29. Attila 1 year ago

Shocking start from Coric…typical. Here’s hoping Cilic still cant hold his serve today.

  30. Aye Right 1 year ago

Attila unfortunate with Coric .Venus is losing think ill cover just incase.

  31. Attila 1 year ago

Coric is crap today. Sorry guys, dont see him winning if Cilic keeps this up :-(

  32. Aye Right 1 year ago

    Coric to beat Cilic Loss
Venus to lose to world no 199.(Break up very possible.)

  33. Attila 1 year ago

He’s won 8 of his last 9 matches, and even took a set off Nishikori in the one match he lost. And I choose to back him the day he is absolutely crap.

  34. Attila 1 year ago

Coric is losing it, its hillairous. GOing off his nut whenever he loses a point, lol.

  35. Aye Right 1 year ago

Omg Federer to come back any1?

  36. Attila 1 year ago

Wow – Federer loses to Ramos. Mental.

  37. Felix 1 year ago

His backhand looked like Dmitrov’s. Single hander was awful today

  38. Attila 1 year ago

How could Cilic barely scrape past world # 272 yesterday, yet demolishes world #40 today?
