THE two bets I really wanted to win on Tuesday did so but it would have been even nicer to land a full house.
Divock Origi to score first for Liverpool was a 21-5 Super Single that gives me a chance to end the month in profit although I need to make up 4.1pts. And it would have been 2.1 if I hadn't covered Monday's winner.
My other Tuesday success was the members only bet for a sixth win in a row – but it paid only 7-10 as one part was voided by the call-off at Boreham Wood.
Brechin beat the both to score bet while draws for Monaco and Torino toppled the Top Treble.
Greg did well with his nap which was over 2.5 goals at Brest – the only Ligue 2 game to have more than two goals. The other games he picked for his double and series bet finished 0-0 … and that's some feat!
On Wednesday there are two more EFL Cup games and team news is key before having a punt on Arsenal v Southampton or Man United v West Ham.
In Scotland Robbie Neilson takes charge of Hearts for what is likely the last time before taking over at MK Dons. When I wrote my preview on Monday – and it will be posted on the site – I thought Hearts were too big in what looked a 50-50 game but I'm not sure how Neilson's departure will affect his players.
A bet I like is giant American Bjorn Johnsen to net against a team that lacks height while Hearts draw no bet is the Super Single in today's Daily Record after yesterday's St Mirren to score 3+ came up.
Elsewhere there are Spanish and Italian Cup ties and French Ligue games including Nice at Guingamp. They now trail Monaco on goal difference but of course have this game in hand.
For a Super Single I've decided to go with another first scorer and it's PSG'S Edinson Cavani at home to Angers. Like Nice the champions could return to the top tonight and in Cavani they have one of the hottest strikers in Europe.
He has 18 goals this season including four in his last three games and of course takes the penalties. If he nets first I wipe out the SS losses – if he doesn't I finish 6.1pts down.
For the Top Treble I'm giving the cup games a miss – for these you need see line-ups. Look at Torino last night for example and how frustrating was it they scored four in extra time against Pisa.
In Spain remember the ties are played over two legs so the likes of big guns Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Villarreal don't need to do much on the road. They're mostly short prices so check line-ups before taking goals or handicap bets.
Real Madrid will play their reserves in their second leg at home to Leonesa after winning the first leg 7-1 with a weakened side. No chances will be taken ahead of El Clasico on Saturday but Isco, James and fit-again Pepe are in their squad.
So for the treble I'm taking Hearts not to lose against Rangers, PSG to score 2+ and St Etienne not to lose at home to a struggling Marseille outfit.
And for a both to score double on Hearts-Rangers and Guingamp-Nice. The former is reasoned in the write-up while the last two meetings between the French sides has produced 14 goals – Nice wins by 3-2 and 7-2. Guingamp usually score and Nice should contribute too even if they've gone off the boil recently and need Mario Balotelli back to give them a boost.
