I was happy with 7-2 and 2-1 winners but the Super Single never looked on as a jaded Scotland failed to tear into England and it was a deserved win for Roy Hodgson's men.
Myh well-researched FA Cup treble that paid 7-2 thanks to Shrewsbury, Sheffield Utd and Doncaster and late goals by Brazil, Italy and France were needed for the 2-1 Top Treble on the friendlies.
As for stupid comments like “Scotland are the new San Marino” well we're not. Friday's win against Republic of Ireland took a lot out of his players and with hindsight Gordon Strachan may have made more changes.
But the Scots will be back and hopefully do enough to join England in France in 2016.
Wednesday's card looks all about the Africa Cup of Nations but having worked late on Tuesday I'm playing golf early so I've had little time to research any tips.
And research is king because the more time you spend studying team news, h2h, form and stats the more winners you'll get.
At a glance the best bets could be DR Congo at home to Sierra Leone, Nigeria at home to South Africa and Ghana at home to Egypt. For goals look at Ivory Coast v Cameroon which was 4-1 to Cameroon in September.
IC matches recently have produced plenty of goals with the last six seeing both to score and totalling 26 strikes. I'm putting up both to score as the Super Single at just under evens but this is without the benefit of teams news.
By the time I get home this game will have finished but raaljaca, who is on a great run of form, is likely to put up some African selections and if he writes anything to put you off this one it will be worth listening.
In the FA Cup Aldershot entertain Portsmouth and on current form the non-league side look a decent bet in the replay but have five players missing so I'm not so sure. Mark Phillips, Jaydon Gibbs, Jordan Roberts, Damon Lathrope and Anthony Tonkin are out but it would take a Shots fans to tell me the significance of that.
Pompey, who welcome back Paul Robinson, have lost five out of seven on the road and haven't won an FA Cup tie since 2010 on their run to the Final where they lost to Chelsea. Portsmouth are a best 7-5 at Paddy Power and I may revisit this one before kick-off.

I know in Cup games you look to see who from their regular lineup is starting as opposed to reserves/juniors/fringe players. Alva Glen if you keep Fletcher fit he is good enough to fire the goals to help Scotland win. A truly class player and Scotland missed him last night.
As an Englishman I was very pleased with how England played – I would go to far as saying its the best I’ve seen us play for several years.
Scotland played their part as well though in what was a game played at a pace you’d expect of a Premiership game and not the usual boring international dross super slow paced.
The only dig I’d have at Scotland is there unwillingness to run at the English defence. The only time they did that was for the young left backs goal which was absolutely superb play.
The Scots needed an out and out striker, its a shame Stevie May couldn’t have started to have given the midfield players more of an outlet.

I put up these selections yesterday, and having double checked team news, group standings and recent form, I stick with them. Something that’s worth keeping in mind is the fact that Uganda’s manager has made clear that qualification for them is an obsession. Given that they are defensively pretty solid and that they are qualified with a draw, under 1.5 @ 3.15 is worth considering. All depends really on Guinea’s ability to break the deadlock. I’d also advise caution with the games where there is nothing left to play for. Personally, I don’t touch them, not even the obvious ones.
*Mali – Algeria: I agree that 4.2 for Algeria to win is massive. However, they are already qualified, which may mean that the best players will get a rest. Mali needs a win in order to qualify. Best bet for this game seems to be goals (no surprises there), but I’m putting down a small stake on Algeria DC as well.

MC7, I haven’t read all the comments but I assume you’ve opened a second account with the same firm which of course you shouldn’t do. If you do it and are caught then you have to pay the consequences. I’d take the £200 and walk away. Loads of people have friends or family to open accounts for them and while this is frowned upon by bookies you’ll usually get away with it. Remember people only do this to claim bonuses or free bets they’ve already had or to get round restrictions placed on accounts.

Not on anything betting wise but PR win & PR win & under 2.5 mg sticks out.
PR win based on them winning 6 from their last 10 at home and only losing 2, though they did lose the last one! They also have a good H2H v Santos. Santos have lost 5 from their last 10 at home but have won 3 so don’t have the worst away record recently. Though saying that they have only won 1 of the last 5 away and haven’t scored in 2.
The under’s is based more on PR’s home record where 12 from 17 have gone under. The only thing that puts me off the under’s is whilst looking at the recent H2H game between these two and they all seem to have goals, for Santos too.
As I say not one I’m on but just my thoughts. :)

Evening guys, Aldershot v Portsmouth
I backed Plymouth O1.5g and Ried to score on Saturday against Portsmouth and they won easily 3-0. I must admit I didn’t watch the second half, so I don’t no if they improved much but they were poor in the first half and Plymouth led 2-0 and the game ended 3-0. Aldershot had seven players missing against Nuneaton and Mr F as highlighted the players missing tonight. I don’t know the players but apart from Mark Phillips who as only played 4 games, the others have played upwards of 15 games so I am guessing they are key players.
As I said Portsmouth were poor at the weekend, and have now just won 2 in 12 on the road and only scored 1 in their last 7. Aldershot have won 4 out the last 6 at home and got a 2-2 draw in the first match. I may have a small punt on the upset at 9/4 Betfred. An early goal would open up this cup tie, and Portsmouth must be low on confidence away from home, they have conceded 15 in 8 games 8 in their last 3, I know they play at a higher level but I will take a chance on Aldershot O1.5g against a side who don’t travel well. It is 7/4 Various.

Setting off for the game shortly and hoping for a Shots win which I took earlier at 11/5.
Mr F, of those players in doubt you mention Phillips is an injury prone loanee who I would be equally happy if he plays or not; Lathrope is not a miss and would not start if fit and the same applies to Sicknote Tonkin. Roberts and Gibbs although out for the last two games would still be big misses for a game of this magnitude. However according to one fan on the Shots forum he has spoken to them both and they say they are fit and raring to go. Make of that what you will.
A safer bet for me would be BTTS or even over 2.5 goals.
Goalscorer wise you have to be looking at Williams, Holman, Molesley or Roberts.
It can be said that Williams is out of form at present but should be noted that he is also penalty taker. Holman has been a revelation since arriving from Colchester on loan and has been unlucky not to register more than two in his , so far, month long stay. Molesley likes to take a dig whenever the goal is in sight and Roberts takes and scores from free kicks.

Consensus seems to be aldershot to win but I am taking Portsmouth and here is why. The obvious one is different leagues that they play in but the main one for me is a closer analysis of the stats. Yes aldershot have won 4 from 5 of their home games but if u look at who they have beaten they have beaten mainly teams struggling at foot of table, Alfreton 22nd, Nuneaton 23rd, Lincoln 16th and their previous home game to that they lost to Braintree 15th. On the flip side Portsmouth have been Kieron dyer away from home but they not been losing to poor teams Plymouth 5th, Shrewsbury 2nd, Bury 6th Southend 2nd, Burton 4th so it could be as much about the quality they have both been up against.
