IT was Halloween night and luckily there no horrors. No ghouls – just goals.
I ended a good month with two winners. The Super Single was Cagliari and both to score at 12-5 while the Top Treble came in thanks to Stoke, both to score at Udinese and over 2.5 goals at Jong Ajax. That paid 21-5 but I sacrificied 1pt on cover.
I ended 27.6pts up for the month and that's the kind of stats I'd like to post every time.
On the site as a whole on Monday there were good winners from the usual contributors so well done to everyone.
November starts with another round of Champions League games. I've posted a preview covering the matches involving Celtic, Man City and Arsenal and others.
I can't see Celtic getting a result, City will need to be brilliant to blunt Barcelona and Arsenal should stroll to victory away to Ludogorets even if they make changes and have half an eye on Sunday's derby against Spurs.
Elsewhere there isn't much else to look at with a couple of games in Scotland and England.
In my opinion it's not a great night for punters with so many teams so short – PSG, Arsenal, Borussia M'gladbach, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are all heavily odds on and at least one could slip up.
So I'm starting the month cautiously with Barcelona as the Super Single – I just think they're overpriced at 8-5 – and a Top Treble.
Start with Benfica who are aiming to complete the double over Dynamo Kiev, add both to score at Besiktas v Napoli which was 3-2 to the Turks in Italy and both to score in the Renfrewshire derby between Morton and St Mirren in the Scottish Championship.
I may add something else later – maybe a score such as Lionel Messi or Olivier Giroud – but it's not a night to go crazy.

On a total barren run at the moment so if today’s bets and challenge lose I’m calling it a day til New year. I’d literally kill for a win at the moment. Coventry entertain Chesterfield at home, Sky blues have won there last four at home in all competitions while Chesterfield have lost there last six. Coventry look like a team on the rise and may be worth backing as a single but I’m taking safety precautions and backing them as a DC. Adding Barcelona to get a result at City with the price no too shabby in my eyes. Both sides have a number of injuries but Barca have MSN who will look to cause mayhem. Note that Caballero will start tonight. Throw in Gladbach to beat Celtic at home, can only see one result here and they welcome back a number of key men. Unfortunately Toure can’t make it for Celtic but the Germans should still have enough and they will be Bet 1 of my challenge.

These bets need to be placed when the games appear inplay 10-15 mins before kick off
@wato – why’s that? do the odds increase 15 mins before kick off?
otherwise you can place them on most games well before kick off (as I have with the Austrian games tonight goal before 10 mins)
Alex, I am pretty sure the market for goals before a certain time only appears inplay before kick off. You can do the goal in the first 10 mins though you are correct so that can be placed in good time that just leaves the 20,30,40 mins bets 10 mins before kick off. If that is not accurate hopefully Greg or someone else can correct me mate
@wato – ah I get you, thought you were referring to the 10 minute early goal market. Yeah you’re right the others don’t become available until 15 mins before KO/inplay.

I’m adding in BTTS in Besiktas v Napoli – the reverse fixture was a goal fest at 3-2 and in all honesty it should have had more goals. This bet has landed in 4 out of Napoli’s last 5 games and in 10 out of Besiktas last 14 games.

A market that I’ve been looking at recently is the ‘goal to be scored after’. Greg seems to like this market and has some success with qpr and Newcastle.
A team who I have noticed also like a late goal are bristol rovers. I just had a quick check and in the last five games they’ve seen a goal scored after the 80th minute.
They’re playing fleetwood tonight, a team who themselves are fairly free scoring. Bet365 have the line set at 76 minutes, which whilst it isn’t amazing, it seems fair, and I think it’s worth a few pounds.
