IT'S men's quarter-final day at Wimbledon and Andy Murray couldn't have wished for an easier opponent.
The super Scot takes on No.56 Vasek Pospisil who is in his first Grand Slam quarter-final and has had to play three five-setters in the past week.
Murray has won all three of their previous meetings and should get this one done in straight sets, which pays 40-85 at Betfair.
Roger Federer has sailed to this stage without having dropped serve but faces his first real test from Gilles Simon. Both their previous Grand Slam clashes have gone the distance and over 3.5 sets today pays 11-10 at bet365.
Stan Wawrinka versus Richard Gasquet also looks good for overs at 1-2 with bet365 while Novak Djokovic could be troubled be Marin Cilic if the Croat turns it on.
On the cricket front the Ashes gets under way with the first Test in Cardiff. England have improved and ushered in a new era since the 5-0 whitewashing they suffered Down Under in 2013-14 but the Aussies are still a fearsome force and look a safe bet to win the series at 4-9 with Coral.
England are 9-2 at Skybet for series victory with the draw 15-2 at 888sport. For the opening Test the Aussies are 21-20 at Stan James, with England 10-3 at Paddy Power and the draw 13-5 at Betway.
There's also stage five of the Tour de France today with Chris Froome looking to regain the yellow jersey from Tony Martin. Good luck with your bets and let's hear your tips and chat.
Scott's tennis double
Simon v Federer over 3.5 sets
Wawrinka v Gasquet over 3.5 sets
2-1, bet365
Djokovic v Cilic
Over 3.5 sets
6/4 bet365
Djokovic/Cilic over 3.5 sets
Gasquet/Wawrinka over 3.5 sets
Murray/Pospisil under 30.5 games
Treble 23/4 bet365
Been reading up on this ashes series for weeks now from ex captains players sky interviews and it keeps coming back to how fearsome the aussies bowling is .coupled with having Steve Smith the world’s leading batsman I’m in agreement I just can’t see past the aussies..been hammering away at lads 2/5 for a few weeks now….and had a wager on David Warner to outscore Adam Lyth at 4/7
Harry that was going to be my main bet today. Cilic has had a whole day off yesterday where as Djokovic had the pressured task of coming through against Anderson for a one off set.
That was Djokovic’s first real test and I thought at times he struggled in that last set where he seemed to blame the weather.
Main Bet
Djokovic v Cilic
Over 3.5 sets
6/4
Bet 365
3 pts
Small Bet
Cilic to win the first set and lose the match

Ad,
Agree with djok maybe losing the set but definately not 3-0 or the match
I’d agree, most likely result is probably 3-1. You never can tell though. If Cilic is serving very well from the off and Novak takes a while to play his way to his best like against Anderson, it could be uncomfortable for him. But he could trounce Cilic 3-0 if the big man starts slow himself. I’m on Cilic for peanuts and will follow with interest
Good luck craigyboy. Price seems way too big for a grandslam winner just to win a set
Robert you know you can get 4/9 in places. And -1.5 was 8/11 at bet365 but not sure what it is now. I hammered into the 1/1 and 10/11 for the aussies months ago as I can’t see them losing a test. Also I’m on Hazelwood top aus bowler and smith top aus bat, and a 20/1 double
Backing Darius Boyd anytime scorer at 11/10 in Game 3
main bet:
wawrinka
nole
fedex
murray
just under evens
fun bet:
warinka 3-1
nole 3-1
fedex 3-1
murray 3-0
gl all
P.S. Tnx MRF for info, might add a double:
Tiebreak anytime:
Nole-Cilic
Stan-Gasq
@evens
Also hoping the Poms can take their confidence into the 1st test. Toss might be crucial but taking the 2/1 for the draw no bet. Aus got the attack but look thin in the batting department.
yep Harry .A few weeks back the best I could get was 2/5..I’ve just noticed the last day or two you can get 4/9 as you say .I’noticed your post a couple of months ago on your evens .. should keep us interested for a good few weeks .good luck with your picks
My fun bet for the day. 1pt
Murray v Popsisil 3-0
Federer v Simon O3.5sets
Wawrinka v Gasquet O3.5 sets
Djocovic v Cilic O33.5 games
6.28/1
Gl
Great minds and all that Mattr
Al be doing the same and think the only risky one is Djokovic but here’s hoping. GL ;)
Gunner, you can get 6/4 with skybet for Australia to win the series and England to win a test match. Looks decent value considering both teams are now playing aggressive attacking cricket to win rather than draw. Weather looks decent too so shouldn’t see too many draws I’m hoping. Agree their batting isn’t top top notch but still have warner who loves playing us and the best batsman in the world. Also think Clarke will bounce back with a few scores
Didn’t meant to post that once let alone twice, needed to add on..
I’m not backing either team in the first test and will just see how it goes, but I’ll be on Alistair cook under 33 runs 1st innings, as he’s always rubbish in 1st innings of a series!
Tennis Double:
NOVAK DJOKOVIC v MARIAN CILIC both players to win a set YES
VASEK POSPISIL v ANDY MURRAY both players to win a set NO
2.28/1 William Hill
Agreed Harry those are decent odds. England just won the toss so I might be on your Cook bet
Cycling: Tour de France stage 5
Match-ups,winner on capitals:
BOASSON HAGEN v Demare single @ 2.75
BOUHANNI v Degenkolb single @ 2.10
Both prices with WH
I see these match-ups as 50-50. It’s a technical final km and both picks have a decent chance to beat their opponent.
I have an outright winner double on Murray and Williams and wondered if it would be worth covering at all?
Obviously Djokovic is the main threat but what would be the best way to back him at this stage of the tournament?
Hope some1 got on that austalia qld bet..nice profit
Yeh good stuff Tommyboy. My Boyd tip came in too. Happy days!

Baseball followers, who in their right mind is laying out hard earned cash on Kershaw tonight at odds of @1.25???
Yes the Phils stink but the Dodgers aren’t exactly smacking the cover off the ball and with their injuries and fragile bullpen, it must be the big-name of “Kershaw” that is dictating those odds.
Of course, the Dodgers should be favourites, as Kershaw is a very good pitcher but he and his Dodgers are not the force they were. So, for the sheer principal of it, I am sticking a fiver on Philadelphia @4.20.
What made me chuckle is that their starter, Morgan, actually has a better ERA than Kershaw… Hahaha!
Live bet:
Tour de France: Matchup: ANDRE GREIPEL – Alexander Kristoff @ 1.66 (Bet365)
This is a typical stage for an ultra sprint finish, 50 km left and given the profile of the stage I doubt that someone will go for a break-away. Greipel looks in top form, leading the point classification, I think it will either be him or Cavendish who will win the stage, Sagan could mix the cards as well. Kristoff looks in poor form on this tour so far, Greipel will rip him to shreds in the finish.
Looking for value at Wimbledon
Both these players are playing superb..so for me its…
Federer to win Wimbledon
Sharapova to win Wimbledon
Double 35/1 bet365
I think that price is great value for £5.
Federer is just a bad match up for simone. That wta serve was never going to trouble him. Easy.
CILIC V NOVAK
Over 33.5 games @ 17/20 NAP
Boys, as u know the ashes are here, that means sitting in my lazy boy for 8hrs a day bliss, I have even got my whites on too shorts vest and drinking diamond white, to show my support :)
Get in their Rooty my boy
Wimbledon Murray vs pospsil
Pospsil to win set 3 in play…3/1, 4/1
he is a comeback specialist. No chance of him winning the game but I think he will push the game to 4 sets at least!
Live bet:
Tour de France: Matchup: ANDRE GREIPEL – Alexander Kristoff @ 1.66 (Bet365)
Greipel 1st place, Kristoff 4th *BET WON*
Greipel ripped them to shreds. Also placed a bet on Sagan to finish in the top 3, majestic finish from him as well! :)
Nice one rowan!
Stan 1/1 after losing the first set. Im having a large stake on this.
Cycling: Tour de France stage 5 result
Match-ups,winner on capitals:
BOASSON HAGEN v Demare single @ 2.75 WIN :)
BOUHANNI v Degenkolb single @ 2.10 LOST :(
Both prices with WH
Bouhanni crashed just after the start and abandoned. That’s the same feeling like your goalscorer walks off injured in the first 10 mins. But Hagen secured a small profit on the end.
yup stan is the man if he breaks gasquet I feel he will go on to win so evens is a good price
Sharapova chances tmw at massive price ?
Thoughts guys cheers
jazza bairn, I’ve tipped Serena to win outright and I’ll stand by that. Serving too well to get beat.
b365 aint offred me cashout once after the warinka game went 1-1 in sets disgraceful
ah now I get cashout :)
(POSTED YESTERDAY) Tomorrow my bets are 2 doubles:
Over 3.5 Sets
Djokovic
Wawrinka
LOST :( – Novak back on his game
Under 3.5 Sets
Murray
Federer
WON :)
Tomorrow:
Radwanska win
Serena 2-0
1.66/1
Mr f it was just the heather watson game that I thought well is Serena invincible !
jazza bairn, she’s got better as the tournament progressed – as all the top players do.
Gasquet ruined me again. Cant wait for djoker to put him in his place.
Cycling: Tour de France 2015 stage 6
Finish on top of a small hill. Could be a chaotic stage with the course going along the coast open for crosswinds. But I think my picks will be there in the end.
Match-ups, winner in capitals:
SAGAN v Degenkolb
GALLOPIN v Stybar
Double @ 1.96 with 888 (1.91 with WH)
Sagan is in great form and he is the man to beat tomorrow. I think the last hill will be too much for Degenkolb to go with the best. I can see a mix of climbers and punchers go for the win. One of these punchers is Gallopin, great finish on stage 3 on the Huy climb, he left Stybar far behind. I think we will see the same tomorrow.
