ANDY MURRAY tamed a giant yesterday but Novak Djokovic nearly got flattened by one.

The world No.1 was on the brink at two sets down to Kevin Anderson before fighting back to level and they resume today at 1pm to play the deciding set.

Djokovic is 2-11 at Betway to complete the comeback win while Anderson is 9-2 at Stan James and Betfair to KO the top seed.

My overs treble landed yesterday but it's a day off for the men today with the women's quarter-finals taking centre stage and after seeing off her sister Venus with ease Serena Williams takes on two-time semi-finalist Victoria Azarenka.

Serena's form has veered from woeful to wonderful so far in the Championships so far but if she plays anywhere near full pelt she wins and she's 2-7 at Betfair to reach the last four at the expense of the 10-3 underodg.

Madison Keys is 2-1 at bet365 to sink Agnieszka Radwanska in what could be a close match so Ladbrokes' 13-8 for three sets is decent value.

Coco Vandeweghe's reward for eliminating Lucie Safarova is a daunting clash with Maria Sharapova while Garbine Muguruza versus Timea Bacsinszky completes the line-up.

In the Tour de France Chris Froome is in possession of the yellow jersey for stage four and has now been cut to 11-10 at Skybet and Boylesports to take the title for the second time in three years.

Elsewhere today there's the likes of State of Origin rugby league from Down Under and the usual busy night of Major League Baseball so post your tips and chat here and good luck if you're having a punt.

Ashes tomorrow and I’m liking the look of England draw not bet.

Aussies have the better bowling line-up but I don’t rate their batsmen and England have far more depth nowadays. Weather doesn’t look great either so odds of 7/4 (2.75) look tasty indeed!

Cycling: Tour de France 2015 stage 4

A cobblestone stage tomorrow. Last year it was spectacular with a lot of rain and chaos. Tomorrow will be dry and dusty and I have to go with the absolute specialists on these roads.

    Match-ups, winner in capitals:

    VAN AVERMAET v Oss
    STYBAR v Kwiatkowski
    Double @ 2.21 with WH

Two cobblestone specialists are in reach of the yellow jersey. Van Avermaet (0.28) and Stybar (1.04) can attack Chris Froome on their terrain. Their counterparts in the match-ups are their team mates Oss and Kwiakowski.

Oss crashed today and I think he will be happy to get over the cobbles without crashing and he should work for Van Avermaet. Same goes for Kwiatkowksi, I think he has to work for Tony Martin and Stybar. Kwiatkowksi also isn’t at his best form at the moment.

My only Wimbledon bet for today. Azarenka to beat Williams at 3/1 2pts. Come on girl.

  5. Phil 9 years ago

Hold on, Bacsinszky at 11/10 to beat Muguruza? Really?

    Tuesday tennis

Keeping most of my money back for in-play today. But have a couple of little bets to start things off.

    I’m Anderson v Novak:
    Over 10.5 games in set 5 @ 2/1
Pocket change on Anderson to win by any score other than 6-0 to
    7-6 @ 16/1

    Low stakes treble:

Maria v Coco over 19.5 (the strongest leg I think)
    Bacsinszky v Muguruza over 21.5
    Serena v Vika over 20.5
    Pays 4/1

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ad, if Anderson plays like he did in the first set yesterday he has a chance but Novak will have susses him out now. No tiebreak of course so Anderson will have to break to win and that will be tough.

I had a decent 2/3 last night but not at your odds Dazzler, well done mate.

Wow, my system called that Tigers/Seattle, Under 7 pick wrong!!

    Small stakes dabbles

Djokovic to win 44th game (first today) to 30, 9/1

Djokovic to win 44th game, 11/4

    Modest

Djokovic to win 5th set race to three games, 10/11

Serena Williams to win 2-1, 11/4

Accompanied by in-play if opportunities appear to beckon.

    * Turkey -9 @ 5/6

    Treble @ 4/5

The Turks are are a class above GB , they have covered the spread 8 times out of there previous 10 games while GB went on a 6 game losing streak before picking up a shock win against Slovenia in their previous game. The Turks are free scoring and GB will struggle against their defence

Whats your nap Picksix, the treble or handicap single?

  16. craigyboy 9 years ago

1 Win and 1 loss from yesterday with Goffin costing my over 3.5 set bet (4 picks) and Murray to win 3-1 coming in at 3/1.

    Playing it simple today:

    Sharapova to win 2-0

    Williams to win 2-0

    2 points

    Good Luck all

  17. picksix 9 years ago

Juan I have the same stake on both mate but I would say I’m slightly more confident of the single over the treble

Couple more quick bets on bet 3 6 5:
    Anderson to win:

    7-5 40/1

If anyone’s on my over 10.5 games on set 5 of Anderson v Novak you can cover on Anderson to win 6-4 @ 6/1

  20. Jaseos 9 years ago

Cheers Dazid – I keep saying it mate, underdogs are money when it comes to MLB. I find very little value in favourites (although I have no actual evidence to back this up, just opinion and observation!)

    ***LOST***

Maria was in cruise control, got sloppy and now Coco is completely dominating.

I’ll be on Vandeweghe to win this at 12/5, purely on the way the games swung. As long as she keeps her cool and Maria keeps being sloppy she’s got the power to beat her

    punter pounder, DK, craigyboy etc…..

Who do we fancy to win the men’s. Regardless of price etc….. I still think Djokovic. I just don’t think he expected the Anderson serve to be so powerful

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ellis, I’ll stick with Murray. He handled the Anderson serve just fine at Queen’s and has an easier quarter-final. Two tough games coming up for Djokovic against Cilic and probably Wawrinka.

  31. Ellis 9 years ago

    Mr F,,

Definitely value in Murray but I wouldn’t write off Federer to beat him

  32. PumaDrifter 9 years ago

Murray will fail vs Fedex. I hate that crybaby murray, all he does is returning the balls in field and waiting for opponents mistakes…then he celebrates the points like he hit a winner of the year. Pathetic really…

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

PumaDrifter, it’s lucky Britain has so many other top-class players to watch.

    Who do you fancy

  35. Ad 9 years ago

    Cilic @ 10.5/1? M
He does what Anderson does better. Needs to be red hot from the off like in New York though. And if Novak returns like he did after 1st two sets he should be able to control things.

  36. Ad 9 years ago

I will have a small bet on cilic 3-0 @ 40/1, as like In New York and like with Anderson in the last round, getting it done in three is the best way to beat Djokovic.

  37. PumaDrifter 9 years ago

Fedex plays fantastic tennis these days, his fatigue is also ok, easy wins so far…i expect a classic finale…nole vs roger :) my fav is nole but if he reaches final he will be well tired ( cilic and probably stanimal next opponents…) so its really hard to say…but yeah, i dont like murray playstyle (too passive) but this is his living room so he is still a fav regardless

  38. WasClueless 9 years ago

Tomorrow my bets are 2 doubles:

    Over 3.5 Sets
    Djokovic
    Wawrinka

    Under 3.5 Sets
    Murray
    Federer

  39. Ad 9 years ago

Simon could definitely test Fed if he is red hot again. Fed will have to really be at his best throughout to make it straightforward. Hopefully he will be. 3-1 my guess

good call, worth a shout, then cash out if Cilic wins 1st set…or maybe wait a bit what happens in 2nd, but then again it might get complicated.
