CHRIS FROOME and Michael van Gerwen were crowned king of the road and the oche on Sunday night as the Tour de France and World Matchplay darts ended on a high.
Today the Hamburg Open tennis gets under way and Rafa Nadal is priced up as 10-11 title favourite in his first tournament since his early Wimbledon defeat.
There's also ATP action from Atlanta where the likes of Gilles Muller and Aleksander Dolgopolov play today and ATP matches from Baku and Nanchang.
Ahead of the Ashes third Test on Wednesday, there's one-day county cup cricket while in speedway's Elite League it's Lakeside v Coventry and there's plenty of Major League Baseball through the night.
Good luck with your bets and post your tips and chat here.
Royal London ODI
Yorkshire 1/2
Surrey 4/6
Double 6/4 – 5 points
Both teams out of the t20 cup so will have full focus on this now. Surrey made a slow start in the t20 and wil not want to make the same mistake twice. Yorkshire playing derbyshire, yorkshire have a much better side on paper and are rightfully 1/2 in my opinion.
Alternatively, if you dont mind a short price i would advise backing yorkshire as a single. Hopefully the rain stays away.

Monday Tennis:
Muller v Young
Muller is having a resurgent time of late, and though his last two matches have ended in defeat, the first saw him come very close indeed to beating Murray at Queens, and the second saw him fall in five sets to Tsonga at wimbledon.
Young has lost his last 5 on the spin, none of which look very impressive, and his only two wins in his last 11 have been against Laaksonen, ranked mid 300s, and Kelpetindjian, who i’ve neveer heard of, and who has never played an atp match before and doesn’t have a world ranking as far as I can tell.
Muller, in his last two appearances at Atlanta a few years ago, reached the semis and the finals. Young seems to have been dumped out in the first round every year hes played, and usually in very comprehensive fashion.
In light of all this, i’ll go for:
Muller 2-0 @ 7-4
If i was in the mood for a lump the 4-7 for the straight win looks decent. As does Muller to win Atlanta @ 16/1
ATP Atlanta:
The top half of the draw is headed by big John Isner, who generally enjoys himself on US hard courts. He is the two time defending champion, having lifted the trophy in both 2013 and 2014.
Isner is joined in the top half by a host of fellow Americans – Sock, Smckzek, Harrison, Johnson and Fish. The Americans are joined, most notably, by Stepanek, Sela, and Becker. All in all it looks a fairly tough section. Fish is a two time champion himself, but with so little tennis under his belt in recent years it’s tough to know if he can rise to the occasion again.
Given the strength in American depth here (an american usually wins Atlanta), I’m looking at the bottom half of the draw, where Donald young flies the Stars and Stripes alone (for now- could change depending on what happens in qualifying).
As mentioned above, I fancy Gilles Muller to get the better of him in round 1. Groth, Baghdatis, Dolgopolov,Lu, Mannarino and Pospisil are the big threats here, but I find it hard to see Baghdatis (a largely spent force these days) Groth, Lu or Mannarino (who is coming off a long week in Mexico) going all the way. Dolgopolov could, but he can never be counted on to string the performances he’s capable of together. The same goes for Pospisil, who still has a long way to go to prove himself capable of putting a title run together.
Muller isn’t as lethal on outdoor hard as he is on grass or indoor, but to me he looks to have the best combo of form, draw and odds of the options available here.
Muller @16/1
Bonus point on Fish @ 66/1.
How about Montanes to beat Mayer AD? He won their last previous meeting on Clay this year very comfortably indeed, Mayer hasnt been in good form at all and although Montanes isnt setting the world alight i think he could upset the home player, any thoughts?

I will have to oppose you on the Muller match bet with an approx 11/4 double ;-)
Young at 11/8 to win Boylesports & I will double it with Almagro to win his match this afternoon in Germany at 8/15
Good luck Ad – I can see Almagro struggling but hope he will pull through and hope Young catches fire on home soil :-)
My system has thrown up a couple of MLB picks for tonight, that I quite like the look of. Both are underdogs and on the Money Line:
ATLANTA (w/Wood) at Baltimore (w/Gausman)
ARIZONA (w/Ray) at Seattle (w/Montgomery)
Both should be well above evens and worth a closer look in my opinion.
Good luck with whatever you bet on.
Juan – only just seen your post. Would’ve been on the fence, but def giving montanes a good chance. Mayer been poor of late as you say. Looks neck and neck.
De Niro- why do you think Young will win? Not saying he won’t catch fire on home turf, but his woeful history at Atlanta is enough to make me think he’ll struggle to play his way into form against the big serving, in form Muller.
Just placed an 8/1 6-fold:
Muller
Carreno busta
Kohlschreiber
Reister
Kudla
And Cuevas
Not touch and go anymore! Had chances to break early in 2nd set didnt take them and fell to pieces… Hopefully Muller can retrieve the losses
Ad – as to why I feel Young will win – at the odds I couldn’t back Muller though as 1/2 fav he should win the average man in street would think – if it were that simple as I keep repeating bookies would loose and public would win :-)
I let myself down Sat backing Taylor at 2/9 :-( and have to remind myself of the route to consistent profit in sport bets – value outsiders that have a chance.
So as to Young I know over the years he can play lights out tennis, he will try harder being on home soil I am hoping despite his poor record here , his ranking is similar to Muller (both 50’s) when I look back at his recent hard Court matches especially in US he had some very good victories and it usually took a top 30 player or top 20 and below to beat him.
His wins this year at 14/15 with clay matches and lots of players in top 20 he’s faced – stands up against Mullers 20/14 record pretty well bearing in mind the odds.
Thats more or less it Ad – I regularly back the outsider but not randon just the ones my 20 year tennis study/obsession tells me have a chance and over the long term I win much more than I loose – very rarely back the odds on fav unless I have an angle in and believe the odds on is still value and for Muller tonight I dont see it as representing value against a similar ranked player, on home soil, who can play like a top 20 player at times, and who has beat lots of top 30 players on hard in the US – I hope Almagro doesnt kick me in goolies to scupper the double at the first hurdle and being odds on also :-)
Ad, done a fairly similar acca to yours but contemplating adding Bedene based on Gimeno-travers form.
Good luck whatever you end up with on your coupon Felix. Gimenos on a fairly bad run but shown some good form this year at times. I’ll have an eye on it in play to see who means business
De Niro- fair enough! Muller is available @ 4-7, a bit better than 1/2. And I’ve gone for the 2-0 anyway as it’s better value IMO. I guess we shall see. It’s certainly no guarantee Muller will win, but I certainly fancy him on current form. If his serve is firing from the off Young will struggle. I wish you luck, though only metaphorically of course, as good luck for you means bad luck for me!
Afternoon guys, just to throw my hat in the ring re Muller v Young I reckon this is a great bet for over total games (23) at 4/5 that’s my tip. Good luck tho on all your bets.
DeNiro
Should have kept to your outsider philosphy with Ramos beating Almagro there !
Tennis outsiders have had an excellent weekend just past with many winning between 6/4 and 5/2. It’s ashame I didn’t have the courage of my convictions.
I’ve had a bad week with tennis and I could have been a great service on here by telling you who not to bet on (my bets) LOL
I think the surprise of the week was Benoit Paire actually playing serious tennis for once. He’s ridiculously talented and really should apply himself more often. Didn’t drop drop a set all week.
Felix
Paire not dropping a set in 5 matches is ‘newsworthy’ given his usual MO. I’ve always found him to be fairly predictable as he often goes from excellent to terrible or visa-versa and ends up playing a third set.
Getting past Goffin 6-2, 6-3 (2nd round) was what set him on his way and it was in good part down to Goffin getting injured and losing mobility.
A Paire v Foggnini match-up might be worth watching, with in-play markets to hand.
I can’t imagine anyone on the planet called Paire to win last week. One match, let alone the tournament. Let alone without dropping a set!!!! Odds of that: 1,000,000/1.
Bolelli to win ATP Hamburg @ 50/1
Huge price if you ask me. A superbly talented claycourter, and being in Rafas half is where I want to be. I’m tempted by Fognini too, but he’s just 14/1 and that’s poor by comparison. I may still put a few bob on the madman, but Bolelli looks value.
Speaking of Rafa, he looked ropey today in the doubles, and his body language wasn’t impressive, even if it was just a case of getting fitness.
Verdasco d Rafa @ 5.7 on Bet fair.
Ad
I did Paire 2-0 v Istomin remember and posted on here, you gave congrats also kind sir ;-)
I also backed him to love V Robredo at 5-5 in the first at 100/30 but didnt post on here :-)
2-0 for Paire v Robredo at 5-5 I meant :-)
Good luck later Ad :-)
Also Verdasco 2-0 @ 10/1. Previous comment awaiting moderation. But hopefully that will be sorted soon. I was tipping Bolelli @ 50/1 for anyone interested
Bolelli I should point out, I’ve taken each way.
Hamburg ATP
I’ll take a SMALL outside EW interest.
Garcia-Lopez @ 33/1 (boylesports)
A proven ATP tournament winner (5) who can be a bit hit and miss. He also knows how to beat Nadal and better players when on form (12-37 against top ten players).
WARNING: Could also be out in the second round !
Ad / James
Bloody Almagro – odds on, I thought he would just scrape it as I said ! Doh – so why did I back him odds on !!!
It bit me in the bum as I feared !
Not going back in on Young – going to save powder till Tuesday and lick wounds ;-)
Back Tuesday with some 2-0 picks and hope for :-) rather than bleep bleep bleep ! :-(
Hope Muller smashes it now Ad ;-) !
Cheers De Niro, glad to have you on board!
James- GGL a decent shout possibly, good value. Rafa is undoubtedly vulnerable. And it’s a good part of the draw to pick someone from. My Bolelli pick is similar. Good luck if my man falls!
thanks DK for the cricket dbl nice going
