      You mean Betfair Sportsbook ?
      Not Betfair surely ?
The whole idea of betfair is no restrictions – I have been on betfair for over 14 years and had all other bookmaker accounts closed many years ago, I regularly bet four figures and more and never have restrictions, and I always win over the long term or each month which is the idea of betfair – winners welcomed :-)

So its something close to my heart

You mean the sportsbook dont you? If so thats just run like other bookies and seperate to betfair.

  27. Jimron 1 year ago

Nap – balty boys 3.15 was expected to win hunt cup had a bad draw, connections are keen for it not to dry up to much and has a better draw today take the 25s on offer :)

NB – snow sky I have a soft spot for stoutes improving horses and think with all this rain around it will bring goldie back a bit which could just swing it snow sky’s favour

Also recommend a reverse tri cast on goldie snow sky and eagle top

    For the ew treble

Hoof it 3.30 down to a shockingly low mark for a horse this good I know he is getting on but first time blinkers could eek out just enough for him to take this race and at 25/1 a place would be nice

Go all and deep down I hope goldie wins by a mile!

Tony R, I have been restricted too with coral. This happened the day after Johnb hit a double last week. Pathetic. I just went to put an accumulator on with outrights for the 5 English footy leagues, I was allowed 95p stake

  29. Saint93 1 year ago

Very rarely comment on this site and to be honest never really bother following others tips whether it’s football, horse racing etc but for the past 18 months I’ve followed your tips JohnB every day and can’t thank you enough. God knows how much money you’ve made me, could just tell from day 1 you had proper knowledge of the horse racing game and I appreciate what you do massively.

Off to the races later at my local track (Salisbury) and wondered if anything there stood out to you JohnB? Thanks in advance mate.

  30. De Niro 1 year ago

To anyone worried about from bookmakers

only BETFAIR (not Betfair Sportsbook)and PINNACLE let you stake without restrictions if they feel you win and are likely to keep winning after the traders monitor your account activity/patterns/bets/stake.

  31. upswing 1 year ago

same here. coral restricted me to minuscule amounts the other week too. if you have the audacity to actually win they will limit you very quickly. Boylesport did the same the week before that too!

Last week i got email form stan james saying that my account has been review by traders and that “your betting account will no longer qualify for such offers, including our Best Odds Guaranteed concession” Now just won another bet on stan james and again they send me another identical email…. I guess that account won’t last long. i believe that they have limited me somewhat as i can’t get a large size bet on, the same at betfair sportsbook, they are only good for medium to small bets.

ill have to start using betfair exchange more and more

    • AL 1 year ago

Same happened to me with coral. A few months back they emailed saying I no longer qualified for promos ect, and every bet I placed went to a trader and I even had some odds on bets restricted to 10p!

Hadn’t bet much with them recently with there not being much football on, but made a £10 deposit on Thursday and put a grand total on £6.50 on two accumulators on the Europa League matches, neither of them won.

Today I went to put the remaining £3.50 on an accumulator but none of the selections would go into my betslip. I contacted them via chat and was told the traders had made a decision to exclude me from betting on any sports market, although I was free to play casino, bingo or poker if I wished.

Funny thing is I was around £120 down in the last 2 months since they placed the initial restriction which was just around the last few weeks of the season. Was up over £4800 since this time last season though so maybe they feared me taking them for another 5 grand this season!

    Saturday
    King George & Q E Stakes

Snow Sky 8/1 e/way (some bloke called Smullen riding seems he knows how to win and how to ride a tactical race, hopefully he will set the pace and not get caught inside the final furlong, giving weight to Golden Horn :-( but at the odds and e/way I will take my chances 😉 )

    https://soundcloud.com/sportinglife/racing-uk-sir-michael-stoute-on-snow-skys-hardwicke-win

still improving says Stoute which could be key here and already second highest rated in the race by some margin, and supplemented for this race :-)
Will put this up again on Saturday thread but its my bet for the race 😉

  35. Duncan Poundcake 1 year ago

Phil ,Coral like many have a Casino site if you turn over £50 now and again when there is no Racing on traders will pick this up. just do red/black or other nearly even money bets you might lose a fiver or so but it seems to work GL.

  36. Jimron 1 year ago

De Niro I hope we’re onto something 😉

    • De Niro 1 year ago

      Jimron

hope so – the Horn is still the most likely winner if he runs, but Snow Sky as to be my call at 8/1 still available with Bet Victor.
It is still an 8/1 shot against a big odds on Fav so were still up against it ! Bookies willing to give you a 2/1 winner just for finishing 2nd or 3rd shows you the grip Golden Horn as on the race in theory !

  37. upswing 1 year ago

had a pinnacle account but as you know now the asians pulled out of uk can’t use it. i have heard of a way around it… its sports market . com , apparently from what i understand they can place bets for you at pinnacle. have not tried it yet, but I’m sure i probably will sometime soon

john b what are your views on golden horn today. with the change of ground

  42. the watcher 1 year ago

    I’m with Dr niro.
Today is the day the horn loses.
If John b thought it was a cert at evens be would have said so and put it in his daily double to double the odds on the double, phew.
Snow sky to lead and wear them down from the front, horn will be asked the question, and the ground will have the final answer, clever cookie to run on for 2nd, horn 3rd.

If horn wins, I will accept this is one of the best for a while.
    Good luck guys.

  43. Jimron 1 year ago

Ryan Moore’s verdict on Golden Horn and the other King George runners

I am sure that Golden Horn is the best horse in the King George.
It’s great that connections are campaigning him as they are.
It’s good for racing, it’s great to have the Derby winner in the King George.
The race deserves to have a top class Derby winner in it.
Hopefully he runs now, hopefully the ground doesn’t get so soft that connections decide to take him out.
The rain complicates things a little, but Golden Horn has won with cut in the ground, and I think that he will handle conditions.
The ground does change things though.
A lot of the main contenders’ best form is on good or fast ground, a lot of them are stepping into the unknown a little on the ground.

Eagle Top might like it. He is by Pivotal, whose progeny generally tend to like easy ground, and he is a full-brother to The Lark, who went well on easy ground. Also, his dam is a half-sister to Sariska, who won the Irish Oaks on bottomless ground. Eagle Top is going to have to step forward from his Hardwicke Stakes run, but he was a good winner of the King Edward last year and he is still relatively lightly-raced.

It is not surprising that Flintshire has been taken out of the race. He is a top of the ground horse and I was giving him a chance on fast ground. Hopefully nothing else comes out now, hopefully the race doesn’t cut up any more, because it is a really interesting race as it is.

Romsdal’s form this year is not good enough, but he goes on soft ground and he was second in the St Leger last year. The more it rains, the more his chance increases.

Snow Sky is a very good-moving horse, we have always felt that he is at his best on fast ground. He did win his maiden on heavy ground, and he was ran well on his debut last season on easy ground, but it was fast ground when he won the Yorkshire Cup on his debut this term, and it was fast when he won the Hardwicke Stakes last time. That said, he should go on easy ground, as long as it’s not sticky.

The Corsican ran well in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot, he finished off his race well over 10 furlongs, but that was a messy enough race, we were all in a bit of a heap in the home straight. He is progressive, but he is going to have to step forward again.

Madame Chiang didn’t run too badly in the Middleton Stakes at York on her debut this season. We know that she goes well on soft ground, she won the Musidora last year on soft ground, and she won the Group 1 fillies’ race at Ascot on Champions Day in October over the King George course and distance on heavy.

But Golden Horn really ought to win.
He has drifted from about 4/9 to about 4/6, but that is probably fair. I wouldn’t really be advising people to back him at 4/6, he has a tricky enough draw in stall eight, but I still think that he will win. It’s one of those races that you can watch and just hope that he will win.

    • cooldude 1 year ago

John, I dont normally pay attention to stallions and their progeny, but I have recently noticed Whitmores Conn producing some gorgeous stock and he’s had a few winners in the last few weeks.

York 2:20 Alejandro 5-1 (going with my name sake!)

Ascot 3:15 has been doing my head in so I am going for 2 each way picks. There’s a few I like but I am going to give Enlace a go at 28-1 E/W and Lincoln 12-1 E/W.

    York 3:30 Tanzeel 7-1

Ascot 3:50 Golden Horn WILL WIN on form. If you are looking for some E/W value then Snow Sky with Smullen on board would be my pick. The ground at Ascot is fine it is likely to be Good to soft and not soft. IF you have already backed Horn at 11-4 there is no sense in tipping it again on the day when it has already gone in a double earlier on in the week.

De Niro, do you use betfair exchange for backing and laying mate?

Ive played about with it a bit but would love to know how a pro uses it

    • De Niro 1 year ago

      Simon
Wouldnt call myself a pro – I have a real daytime job or rather a couple of business’s but the betting contributes a good chunk year on year,
I do use it for backing and laying,
use to be 80% laying but the last year or so the info as been diluted somewhat and now its down to almost half and half,
Also sports bets Tennis especially but getting matched can be a problem other than Grand Slams
Rugby league I have a source who gets it right about 90 percent of the time but the liquidity is non existent on the rugby league in general on betfair,
Also big singles in the Football its ideal for lots of liquidity and no limits,

That said, to the lay person it does seem a bit unfair but I guess that’s the gamble you pay for larger ante post odds.

I’m surprised you weren’t aware of this if you placed a 1k bet as it’s always a risk be it through being withdrawn or injury.

Nagman cheers for first @ york bud!!

You buy a product from the bookie at odds they offer ante post.
You don’t see what you have Invested in.
      And they keep your stake.
      How is that fair.

the watcher, I don’t think it’s fair but the rules are clear and punters must be aware of them. I’d back with a bookie offering no runner no bet.

Golden Horn’s withdrawal is of course a massive disappointment for Johnb and others. I’ve deleted a couple of silly comments about the tip – but one thing Johnb can’t control is the weather. If the conditions are too soft the horse wouldn’t have won if it had run anyway.

    Enniston 2/9. WIN
    Victor Estrella Burgos 4/9. WIN
    Goldie Hawn withdrawn.

Double be about £180 ounce its settled me thinks for my £90

Should of took Snow Sky at 8/1 as back up as i thought it was only danger. On it now 😐

Ps anyone know that it will just be a double now for sure? It was paying just over EVENS Bet365

  93. WasClueless 1 year ago

Jimron – so close with Balty Boys – I had it e/w at 25/1 – so thanks!!

Jamie spencer should be hung drawn and quartered. This man gives horse racing a bad name, if he was a boxer he would go down in the first.

NAP Molly Cat 4/1 – 8:30 Lingfield – Still to run
NB Denzille Lane 3/1 – 3.40 Newmarket (Although Desert Force looks good to) – LOST

    Singles & a double

    IWAC Heaven’s Guest now 9/1 – 3.15 Ascot – WON

Adding Ravenhoe 4.33 5.10 York and doubling with my NAP

  112. Duncan Poundcake 1 year ago

Looks to be 55p in the pound ,still it’s better than the SP.Saved my day GL.

Anyone else fancy Nina’s in the next at Ascot (George Cinq)?

  114. johnb 1 year ago

I keep saying it, you get the chance for better odds but at a risk
Taghrooda 33/1 for Oaks won at 7/2
Golden Horn 33/1 for the Derby won at 13/8
Golden Horn 5/6 for Eclipse won at 4/9
    Plus many more

It’s never good to not get a run for your money but it’s a risk punters have to take to get the best odds, long term it pays but the risks have been mentioned numerous times over the 20 months I have been on here

johnb, unlucky today – most punters know the risk.
And for the person asking – I will delete comments where necessarily. I can’t delete posts however.

  116. Tony R 1 year ago

I have £50 on the NAP JohnB.. Cash out £93.41. (Placed at 11/4)

With the rule 4 potential returns will be £110? Can anyone confirm thats correct?

If that’s the case I’ll cash out the NAP and leave on the NB & Double..

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit
      Mr Fixit 1 year ago

Tony R, Johnb earlier stated there was a 55p rule so an 11-4 nap would pay 5-4.

      • Tony R 1 year ago

Thanks Mr F.. £112.50 potential return then.. I think I’ll cash for the sake of £15!

    • Tony R 1 year ago

      £97.17 cash out now…

    5:00
Sir Lancelott 7/2 NB betfred bet365

    Double
Kiwayu & Sir Lancelott 35/1 betfred

  125. Tony R 1 year ago

As I’m unable to place on the bets on Sportsbook.. I’ve placed the singles on the exchange.. I’m wondering how its best to use the site? Do you just back the set out odds for example Sir Lancelott is 4.2.. Or do you try to get better odds?

Does someone laying need to accept your bet?

  126. WasClueless 1 year ago

On them JohnB – and GL all …

  127. WasClueless 1 year ago

  130. allycoops 1 year ago

JB the straight f/c bet with Weld Al Emarat and Yorkshire Dale. I take it stake should have been refunded with Yorkshire dale a non runner?

  131. johnb 1 year ago

Allycoops it goes onto Weld Al Emarat for the win

    • the watcher 1 year ago

I think we should all take a step back and think about Donny who lost a grand and others who lost out on their anti post bets.
I for one didn’t realise you had to ask for no run no bet.
I’m honestly gutted for the bloke, and sincerely wish him well.
Let’s hope johnb continues to take the fight to them.

      PS
Where does golden horn go next ????
And will he run into gleneagles at any point, that would be a clash to savour…..

  132. allycoops 1 year ago

Thnaks JB I thought it would be a NR

  133. johnb 1 year ago

O’Brien doesn’t want them to meet that’s why he pulled Gleneagles out of the Eclipse

Golden Horn will go to York in 3 weeks time then either our Champion Stakes or the Irish Champion Stakes before the Arc as Golden Horn is being targeted for that

  134. Jimron 1 year ago

Shame about goldie! Even worse was snow sky sorry about that one!!! Balty was a knots arse away o well into the next one !
