JOHNB has a joint nap and NB lined up for Wednesday as he looks for a speedy run from Quickaswecan.

It was 3pts lost for our man on Tuesday – his profit for July is now 4.98pts – but there were plenty of winners provided by the regulars so well done all who contributed.

Johnb says: “I will try putting up reasoning later but Wednesday is my strongest two horses on the same day for a long time.”

John Gosden ominously warned Golden Horn’s Ascot rivals the Derby hero is stronger than ever ahead of the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes on Saturday.

The Cape Cross colt dispelled any fears about his ability to stay a mile and a half with a stunning display in the Epsom Classic at the start of June and proved just as effective back at a mile and a quarter when comprehensively beating his elders in the Coral-Eclipse.

He now steps back up in distance as he bids to become the first Derby winner since Galileo in 2001 to strike gold in Ascot’s midsummer showpiece.

Gosden said: “He’s fine and I’m very pleased with him. He’s taken the Eclipse very well.

“Taking the decision to go forward in the Eclipse was the right decision. He was very relaxed in front and he finished the race well.

“We always thought he was a good, proper horse, but he just seems that much more streetwise, harder and tougher now.

“He’s filled out since the Eclipse and his weight is back where I wanted.

“We’re not being faint-hearted with him. We’re trying to go the tough route.”

  145. King Tubby 2 years ago

Posted too soon… great tip , some real inside info there, thanks for sharing.

Would have romped it but for the unlucky start

  146. Trickytjm 2 years ago

What was Hannigan doing!! Ok he got bumped at the start but sitting 10 lengths behind the leader when few are coming from the back was ridiculous with my rather untrained eye

  147. Charlie chalk 2 years ago

Hate it when it comes to a run like that, thought it was impressive tho

  148. Kildare man 2 years ago

Some great tipping on here today lads! You are all a credit to the ancient art of gambling!

  149. Trickytjm 2 years ago

Sorry ‘Hanagan’ (damn predictive text) 😉

  150. WasClueless 2 years ago

Another great tip DC – unlucky :(

  151. Gaery 2 years ago

  157. NAGMAN 2 years ago

Think English Summer a little overpriced in the next. I know acts better on softer but form still decent for this race and must have good place chance at least

  158. Duncan Poundcake 2 years ago

Thanks Dougie and Nagman ,my account has been going up like a taxi meter today ,just happy to help GL.

  159. boz 2 years ago

Money coming in for satellite now :)

  168. Acca backer 2 years ago

Why have him so far back. Pat cosgrave= tosspot

  169. William bailie 2 years ago

Uncontested lead :( when will these arsehole jockeys learn !

  170. Yovan 2 years ago

I’m getting sick of those idiotic rides. Let him go 20 lengths infront into the last 2 furlongs.

  171. Gaery 2 years ago

Well that’s cost me a treble and double.

  172. PeteT 2 years ago

We can moan about Pat Cosgrove but Sam Hitchcott went out with a plan and was always impossible to catch. They probably didn’t bank on that when the trainer gave Cosgrove his instructions as otherwise he rode a great race overtaking everyone else and sneaking a 2nd spot.

Annoying, cost us all money but, for once, I think we have to recognise a good ride on Strawberry Martini rather than a bad ride on Satellite.

  173. NAGMAN 2 years ago

    9.00 PIVOT POINT 15/2 E/W

  174. NAGMAN 2 years ago

Think there is a reason Spencer has been chosen for his first try at this trip as Meehan knows he will be patient. If Pivot Point stays the distance should have a good chance

  175. double carpet 2 years ago

Im having 2 quid ew on the complete outsider in the 9.00 Revision 14/1 who got his mark based on runs last year and a rating of 53 could be lenient or he could just be a pig!!
    gl

  176. double carpet 2 years ago

Ryan Moore out for the rest of the season im hearing

  177. johnb 2 years ago

    8 points profit today
July now a profit of 12.98 points

Satellite couldn’t do anything about the winner who ran well above what was expected and I couldn’t see the winner running that well.

  178. Deeman 2 years ago

    Great shout DC

  179. WasClueless 2 years ago

Huge thanks DC!! Revision!! What a call! I doubled it with Cape Wolfe at Naas. Had them both in small singles too. My €8 returned €133.25! I owe you one or five pints if your ever in Naas!

  191. NAGMAN 2 years ago
