IT was another tough day but it was a profitable one thanks to Juventus.
After a losing Super Single and both to score treble my day was saved by Juve's win added to 1-0 successes for Roma and Lazio.
That gave me a 4.6pts win – more than enough to cover the other two bets. Greg and Jordan had no joy and we've just about got the FA Cup third-round ties out of the way.
I've been stressing all weekend to hold bets until seeing team news and I'm not sure anyone would have backed Liverpool to beat Plymouth after Jurgen Klopp named the club's youngest side.
The third-round ties are completed on Monday with Cambridge v Leeds and at first glance it looks good for goal.
Cambridge have lost just three in 16 under Shaun Derry while Leeds have won 14 out of 20 and looking to the play-offs with Garry Monk in charge.
Monk says he will “freshen things up” so again I wouldn't consider Leeds at evens until line-ups were revealed. If they're full strength back the away but that's unlikely.
In La Liga it's Osasuna v Valencia – bottom versus fourth bottom. Both are in poor form and if I had to pick a winner it would be Valencia.
Having looked more closely at both games I'm happy to risk 1.6pts of profit on a both to score double at Cambridge and Osasuna.
My Super Single is for tomorrow and it's Man Utd -2AH against Hull in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final at Old Trafford. United should be back to full strength and with Hull more focused on avoiding the drop this could be one-sided.
Not much value about with United being so short but I like the -2 Asian at just over evens. I'll post a full preview of the match late tonight.
And having seen teams and a mudbath of a pitch I'm risking 1pt on Cambridge to beat Leeds. Cambridge have made one change and Leeds eight.

I knocked back a decent cash in yesterday, over 8 corners, in these Spurs game. I was annoyed with myself
But lo and behold last seconds Spurs got corner number 9
Did not get paid out, contacted bet365 and they confirmed corner had been awarded but was not taken
therefore does not count.
In all my years in football I have never seen a ref award a corner then blow before it is taken, I find this
Alarming especially since earlier in the game a very obvious penalty was denied.
I was thinking of contacting the FA for clarification.
Any of you guys know anything before I go charging in?

With most bookies the corner has to be taken after being awarded.
If you’d been watching comments on this site you’ll have seen dozens of cases of it in the last year or so.
It seems to be surprisingly common.
As it was 2-0 to Spurs at the time the corner being taken or not wouldn’t have affected the result.
And as far as a penalty being denied – refs make mistakes in every game.
Theblack it happens quite often there was a game this weekend I was watching can’t remember who and the player was ready to take the corner and the ref blew for full time. I’ve been in your shoes before where you need 1 corner and it’s given but blew up before letting the player take it. It will be in the t&c that the corner has to be taken to count so unfortunately your bet is a loss frustrating.
Happened to me a couple of weeks back.Corner was awarded,players stood over the ball,ref blew whistle,ball never got touched…I was fuming,looked at my bet and the rules stated,corner MUST BE TAKEN for bet to apply.
There was only seven Spurs corners and the seventh wasn’t taken
Sky originally settled my requestabet of Spurs win by 2, under 60 booking points and 7 Spurs corners as a loss but I had a screenshot of their own match stats and FlashScores who both showed 7 corners. I was going to argue it didn’t stipulate taken.
They actually settled it as a win while on was onto chat without me knowing

not as good odds but had a couple of situations when corner awarded but not taken and they pay out,never had a problem with them,very handy if you do last minute corners due to them paying up which as far as i see things,corner awarded whether taken or not is still classed as a corner,its how some bookies get out of paying,unfair really

You have to remember there are people betting who win because that corner isn’t taken.

Probably a fairly popular pick for today, but other than this I can’t finds much else and very nearly skipped it altogether.
Funnily enough tonight’s La Liga clash is a six pointer. I can’t remember the last time Valencia were doing well, certainly weren’t under Gary Neville, and despite their talented squad, find themselves on the cusp of the relegation zone, only above Gijon on goal difference. Tonight they travel to an Osasuna side who are anchored at the bottom of the table with plenty of injuries, and a new manager to boot. With players like Munir, Nani, Rodrigo and Parejo, Valencia should come out on top. Despite their troubles, they’ve still scored in all but one away game this season. It’s in defence they’ve struggled, with only one clean sheet in their fifteen games so far this season (13 of 15 have seen BTTS).
Valencia will be without Ezequiel Garay and Aymen Abdennour, two key defenders, so I’ll be surprised if they keep a clean sheet once more despite being the favoured side. Osasuna have a few injuries but their main goal threats are all available.
Both can score here but too short as a single so I’ll chance the Over 2.5 Match Goals and hope both contribute.
