HOW come the games people want to bet on are the toughest to predict? It’s usually the case and I’ve been mulling over how the top match in the Premier League will go today.

Liverpool travel to Man City (4pm) and it’s in my mind that Brendan Rodgers’ men have played well against better side. They’ve scored at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge and drew 2-2 at Arsenal in midweek.

However, can they breach a City defence that’s conceded just nine goals in 12 home matches and have recorded four successive clean sheets. Vincent Kompany will be missing again but without the skipper they drew 0-0 at QPR in midweek, although Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge will provide a tougher test.

Liverpool on the other hand couldn’t keep out a kitten and have let in 20 goals on the road. That worries me and I’m taking City, who are 10-11 at William Hill, to edge it.

Sergio Aguero is first-scorer favourite but I’m taking a chance on his fellow Argentine Pablo Zabaleta to 11-1 with bet365 to net at anytime.

He scored against Stoke in a 1-0 win last weekend and hit he woodwork against QPR. To net first as he did against Stoke he is 40-1 at Stan James.

Both teams to score is short at 8-13 considering only one of the last six meetings at City has seen both on target, with three 0-0 draws. but this has a chance with Suarez and Sturridge in the line-up.

Spurs have drawn three in a row but should get back to winnings ways against a West Brom (1.30pm) side with just two wins in 11. AVB’s men are 6-5 with the likes of William Hill and Ladbrokes but as they’re a bit short up front look at Gareth Bale, who hit a cracker at Norwich in midweek, at 9-4 with Ladbrokes and Stan James to score.

Man City
(10-11, William Hill)

Zabaleta to score
(11-1, bet365)

Bale to score
(9-4, Ladbrokes)

Danny, oh Danny, whats happened to you mate, been reading through some of the comments from yesterday, seems like your losing the plot alittle 😉 , is it the pressure of kicking off the tipster competition ? it’s all getting too much for you Danny !

      • Danny 5 years ago

lol Milesey a woke up this morning looked on the floor and seen 13 empty beer bottos an empty whisky botto and a near enough empty white win botto thats what happned haha no pressure in the competition all I can do is make picks and hope the teams win midweek not clever might be friday and saturday picks

        • Milesey 5 years ago

I see you have an international friendly week, never a good week for betting. Let your opponent take them for you can never predict the teams, results, when it comes to these games, have a dabble with the over/under market, is always a good way to go on these games, not sure of what ladbrokes offer though for i don’t bet with them, so will have to start seeing what markets they offer for football, for i know you can’t do any in play markets.

          • Danny 5 years ago

am not to keen on the internationals might be a good idea looking at overs for some of them Ive looked at ladbrokes website and I cant find a bet I like 2 Score In Both halves sometimes aswell they are mad with the btts looked a few times at games that should have odds for it and dont got a double for monday then not much till friday and saturday

            • Milesey 5 years ago

Think on my week i have some champions league games. If you look for teams playing weaker teams, you can always get good over odds, for example a team playing San Marino, Faroe Islands etc…… Always a few if you look, but alot of them i have seen seem very close matches and others seem the type where your going to just get stop start second half with the subs.

Danny, on the international Ladbrokes will do as many markets as most but you might not see them until later in the week. Eleven hours to your first bet and you’ll probably be one of the few people up then.

              • Danny 5 years ago

aye Paul am happy with post going up at that time soon as I get up in morning Il put my first bet up hopefully I beat Davie 2 it with one of the teams that id Imagine he would take if hes having anything on Monday

                • Milesey 5 years ago

…….. don’t matter who is first he just can put them teams into a double , treble, etc….. or look at other markets for that team. I’m going to let the other player get their bets up first, and i’m going to cover every single one of them !

Totally disagree with you MR F, Suarez is going to take this Man city Make shift defence apart. 😉

      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Milesey, we disagree quite a lot on the football but you’re not always right. I can see Liverpool scoring but the key will be how they can defend. City’s makeshift defence kept a clean sheet at Loftus Road but Liverpool rarely do so. I can see it being 2-1 City because whatever you say about Saurez I’d rather have Aguero.

      • Milesey 5 years ago

You’d rather have Aguero over Suarez ?

Seems like we do dissagree quite abit on the football, what other sports can we dissagree over ? you been watching the world cup of darts ? Can you believe Netherlands, Australia both got beat last night. I went with ENGLAND to win it all @11/8, they were very very lucky to go through last night, South Africa shouls have beat them !

        • robert miller 5 years ago

darts a sport milesy?????? next you will be tellin me that snooker and bowls are as well!!!!!!!

          • Milesey 5 years ago

hahahaha, no idea ask the 25st bloke down the pub pouring pint after pint down his neck who thinks he is keeping fit for he is playing Darts !

            • robert miller 5 years ago

yeah but you forgot to add the VAT on to that 25 stone!!!!

seriously i do accept that darts has a big following

          Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Milesey, I don’t like Suarez’s antics to be honest, don’t dispute his talent. I watch good honest football every weekend and don’t like some of the stuff Suarez gets involved in. Didn’t see the darts but Holland losing is a shock. I of course tipped Scotland to win the World Cup – we’re due one!

  6. Joe 5 years ago

Totally agree with u Paul. Man City have won 8 of their last 10 not playing well and have only dropped an incredible 11 points out of their last 114 available at home in the past 2 years. City all day for me.

    • Milesey 5 years ago

      On paper means jack nothing……..

Watch the game at 4pm and we’ll see, things on paper never seem to work out when it comes to the game itself !

Treble: Man City, Ivory Coast, Montpellier
    Easyyy Moneyyy

  8. tom mc 5 years ago

I’d be leaning towards city to win this one but Aguero better than Suarez??? Nah. Suarez has bagged buckets of goals with ordinary players around him . Imagine he was in a team that gave him better supply… Suarez all day long for me. Dont think he will be at pool too much longer so enjoy watching him while you can…

    City – Pool BTTS
    Ivory coast -1
    Barca score in both halves.

    Gl all

Tom mc, I didn’t say Aguero was better than Suarez. I said I’d rather have him in my team. There’s a difference.

      • Milesey 5 years ago

        In your time ?

        What do you mean ?

You’d like Aguero to have played for your team back in the 50’s ?

  9. tom mc 5 years ago

Not really catching your drift Mr F….
Players like these two are in teams to score or set up goals so whats the point of having one in your team if you think the other is better at his job?

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Tom mc, they’re both great players but I like Aguero better than Suarez. That’s my opinion and I’m entitled to it. If you don’t agree then fine.

      • Milesey 5 years ago

Your opinion sucks hahaha hahaha 😉 😉 😉

  10. tom mc 5 years ago

Yea your right, everyone is. Not havin a go Mr F…. sorry if came across like that. Just bit of banter lad

tom mc, it’s all about opinions. To be honest I’m not sure about the City v Liverpool game, not as certain as some. Right, I’m off out for a bit. My work here is done.
