EFE AMBROSE – how could you? My valiant attempt to wipe out January's losses was beaten by one man.
Celtic's defeat to Ross County in the League Cup sunk my Super Sevenfold and cost me 17 points.
It looked so good when they scored inside 30 seconds but red cards change everything and Ambrose conceded a penalty, was sent off when maybe a booking would have been the right decision and saw County level from the spot before going on to claim a deserved win.
With a Nice goal beating my 13-2 both to score treble and Valencia downing the Top Treble it was a day of near misses but that's the risks when doing accumulators.
Gary Neville will be under severe pressure ahead of this week's Spanish Cup semi-final with Barcelona but insisted last night his side's display in the 1-0 home defeat to Sporting Gijon was the best of his reign. Unfortunately the likes of Alvaro Negredo were misfiring and that doesn't make me feel much better.
My Super Single was an all or nothing on Callum McGregor to score first at 8-1 so I finish all square for month.
The day started well for me when my 10pts antepost top Novak Djokovic won the Australian Open and I also flagged bets such as Jonas to score first for Benfica at 3-1 and Benfica and btts at Betfred.
So that's January out of the way and while I won't be changing much in the way of top tips I may be more cautious with fewer selections and more days with no bets. I'm not under pressure every day to post a bet but with it being a tipping site I feel I'm maybe cheating readers a bit when there is nothing up.
Also I might start putting up tips a bit later in the day because recently I've spotted late team news that would affected the bets posted. There's no point me rushing up selections in the morning when games kick off at night although I'll do so if prices look like they're changing.
Today in La Liga it's Deportivo v Rayo and there should be goals with Vallecano conceding a league high 29 on the road. They drew 2-2 last time out at Valencia but are missing a few players.
Deportivo are sitting mid-table and while they've lost just two in front of their home fans they've drawn five and netted just 15. They could edge a win at 10-11 but I'd prefer to go draw no bet at 2-5 with BetVictor.
Belenenses are in better form than Maritimo for their trip to Madeira but just one point separates the strugglers. Again it's not an easy one to call but having netted nine in five games I'd take Belenenses to score at 1-2. They have bagged five in three visits to the island, scored one a game this season on the road and conceded 27.
That's a lot and if it wasn't for the fact Maritimo have drawn three blanks in four I'd go for btts. The other match was a 5-1 win against Moreirense so they're certainly inconsistent.
We have two Jupiler League games in Holland with Jong PSV facing RKC and Fortuna Sittard taking on Helmond. We always look at goals in this league but interestingly only one of the last eight meetings between Fortuna and Helmond has gone over 2.5 goals.
There have been three previous meetings between Jong PSV and RKC and all have seen both scoring and over 2.5 goals so that's the better option.
So while I hinted at a no-bet day I'm doing a 1pt Super Single that is in fact a double. And it will become a single if Deportivo draw.

January was a terrible month. The pots empty as they say, need to start small and hopefully build back up, having no luck at all these days.
Hope everyone’s good, been a while since I’ve posted. Have started a uni course alongside my full time job which has been time consuming and means less time for studying of the betting variety.
Good old transfer deadline day again. At the time of writing there’s very little markets on oddschecker but would expect that to change in the next couple of hours.
A player who I reckon will move today will be Saido Berahino of West Brom.
He seems to be close to a move to Spurs every window except this time he’s been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle which seems odd considering they’re rivals in the division.
On SkyBet it is 13/8 he moves to Newcastle and 5/2 he moves to Spurs. You can also get 6/4 on him staying at West Brom.
I reckon if West Brom receive a bid of £20m they’ll cash in seeing as that he hasn’t featured much this season but I can’t see him heading to Newcastle. You’ve got to think if Newcastle get permission to talk that Spurs will counteract the bid and win the race for him.
So for me the 5/2 on offer for him to join Spurs is rather quite appealing and I may just throw a few pennies at it.
The last few seasons the January window has disappointed for moves but I’d expect most teams to be very active this time around to get an edge on relegation rivals or title challengers.
Moving on to tomorrow it’s hard to see how Spurs aren’t going to hit over 1.5 team goals at Norwich tomorrow. Odds of evens on TitanBet at the minute are screaming at me to back it.

Paris v Clermont BTTS – Paris’s home form is shocking but so is Clermont’s away form. BTTS has come up in Clermont’s last 8 consecutive away games and they’ve won just 1 of those 8 games. The pair met in September and it ended 1-1 so I’m hoping for the same again.
Maritimo v Belenenses – BTTS – possibly the dodgiest of the 4fold but I’m hoping for goals again. Maritimo are 5/9 BTTS at home and it’s come up in 3 out of 4 of Maritimo’s last games. Once again they have already played out a 1-1 draw this season.
Ajaccio v Nimes – BTTS – I loved Nimes at the minute. They’re on fire winning their last 4, scoring 14 and conceding 6. Ajaccio are solid at home and are unbeaten in 5 with both teams scoring in 3. This should be a good game and I’m hoping for goals.

The pre-season Cups in Iceland are well worth noting as teams take them seriously…have a few teams in the notebook for the coming season and have added IBV to that…a 2 goal half-time lead is a bit of a coup. KR should be all guns blazing to rectify that so looking forward to more goals in the second 45.
