JOHNB banked a 0.25pt profit on Monday thanks to an impressive win from his NB Cold As Ice.
The Nap couldn’t complete the double so our man is now 9.96pts down for December.

Fairy Pools (NB)
Johnb says: This selection isn’t about what the horse has done, it’s about what the horse could do.
Anybody looking at form would instantly rule this horse out and that’s what the bookies have done.
I am a big believer in breeding, it tells us so much about a horse.
Fairy Pools is by Halling, that tells us straight away Fairy Pools should like any ground conditions on the turf, Polytrack & Fibresand but there is a slight advantage towards the Fibresand for Hallings Progeny.
Last time out at Southwell Fairy Pools handled Southwell’s fibresand well enough.
Another thing breeding tells us is a horse’s preferred distance, Fairy Pools breeding tells us she wants 1m 4f or 1m 6f.
Last time at Southwell the distance was too short at 1 mile, now my thought instantly that day was Les Eyre is going to run her over shorter distances till she gets her handicap mark & he will be trying for a low mark, so it was a little surprising to see Fairy Pool stepped up to 1m 4f on Tuesday.
That was until you look into this race then you see just how weak it is, it’s a long time since I have seen a race this week, so that could be why he has stepped her up quite significantly in distance.
Last time at Southwell Fairy Pools was slow away and I think Hayley Turner used up too much energy getting the horse to the front, Fairy Pools ran well enough for most of the race but fell in a hole.
Hayley Turner’s ride was also strange as it wasn’t her normal style, she just seemed to be bouncing up & down flapping her arms about, which looks like the horse wasn’t actually getting asked as much as it looked.
On Tuesday Les Eyre has gone for Graham Gibbons and if this horse has been lined up for this race then Gibbons is the man for the job.
Everything looks good, the course, the distance & the jockey.
Trying to second guess some trainers isn’t easy, Les Eyre is one of them so my only worry would be, is he waiting for handicaps.
