WELL, what a day it was on the mrfixitstips soap opera. All of my main tips produced a return and all over the site there were winners posted – and I can't forget Johnb whose nap won.
On Saturday I couldn't do much better with the Super Single (Dundee Utd), Top Treble (ICT, Hearts, Watford) and Euro Treble (Juventus, Bayer, Bilbao) all winning.
That's four Super Single in a row – Southampton, Sunderland, Lyon and Dundee Utd and while I didn't post a single on Friday I did a daily double (Dortmund, Dundalk) that also won.
On Saturday my four homes produced a profit and it would have been five out of five but for Crystal Palace's last-minute equaliser at Newcastle. Two aways also made a profit if you took the advice to do a Trixie.
Only Partick Thistle's failure to score at Aberdeen beat a both teams to score fourfold but the draws were nowhere.
Elsewhere raaljaca's well-publicised btts gamble on his Peruvian match won and the consistent Greg Browning came up trumps again.
I'm hoping to continue the good form on Sunday and I'm starting off with a Top Treble and both to score line.
In the Daily Record yesterday I tipped five out of in my Scottish Premiership preview – a line that paid 40-1.
My Sunday tip for the top-flight game is Celtic to win at Dundee and that's how I'm kicking off the Top Treble.
Celtic have suffered back-to-back defeat at Inverness and Maribor and questions are being asked about boss Ronny Deila after they were knocked out of the Champions League not once but twice.
The Inverness defeat was with a weakened side and Celtic will be at full strength at Dens as they try to get their season back on track. With a strong team they've beaten Dundee Utd 6-1 and St Johnstone 3-0 and I expect them to take three points off the promoted side who have started with three draws and a win.
Next on the list is Bordeaux at home to Bastia. Bordeaux have made a flying start to the season with three wins to top the table and have won their last three games against Bastia without conceding. The islanders lost their only away game 2-0 at PSG and this could be a similar sort of score.
I considered Arsenal at Leicester to complete the treble but instead I'm going with PSV in the early game at home to Vitesse – in fact all my picks are from early games.
PSV did well to battle back from a goal down to win 3-1 at Ajax last week and have won their first three games, including 6-1 at home to NAC. Vitesse have a decent squad but have lost tough away games to Zwolle and Ajax.
Spurs-Liverpool will be popular with both to score followers. Liverpool won 5-0 at the Lane last season but in the previous six meetings Spurs netted 16 goals. With Mario Balotelli possibly making his debut I can't see it being a tame affair.
Add Mainz v Hannover with both sides scoring and conceding. Mainz followed their 5-5 German Cup draw against Chemnitzer by drawing 2-2 with Paderborn. Hannover's last three have brought up btts including last week's defeat of Schalke.
Finally add Villarreal-Barcelona and Real Sociedad-Real Madrid in La Liga. The two big guns could be vulnerable on the road against sides who have each played Europa League ties and come through them.
Villarreal impressed me in winning their league opener at Levante and should push Barca all the way. Sociedad lost their league opener at tiny Eibar but are a different proposition on home soil. Three of their last four Basque meetings with Real have gone over 2.5 goals so that's an option to btts.
For anyone who doesn't fancy the Spanish games go with Udinese v Empoli over 2.5 goals. Udinese's last four games going back to last season have totalled 24 goals while Empoli have hit 10 in their last four.
Still thinking over the Super Single with Inter, Ajax, Twente as well as Malmo and Zwolle among the candidates. I've ruled out Arsenal just because they are without Olivier Giroud and will face a real battle at Leicester. They have the quality to win but sometimes these are the kind of games that trip them up.
Inter travel to Torino with two good Europa League wins under their belt and have a good recent record there. They are expected to hand Gary Medel and Nemanja Vidic Serie A debuts while Torino will have Fabio Quagliarella to replace last season's top scorer Ciro Immobile.
Ajax are bidding to bounce back from the PSV defeat at Groningen with Danny Blind the latest player to leave the Amsterdam giants and head to Man United while Twente entertain a Feyenoord side still reeling from the loss of so many stars.
Another possibility would be Lionel Messi to score first after his fast start and impressive showing last week but is just 5-2 at 888sport and 1-2 at Coral to net at any time.
I'd love to put up Giovani dos Santos to net at 7-2 as the Super Single after watching him score and terrorise Levante last week but that would be controversial in the current climate.
Draws for Bordeaux and Celtic have of course beaten the treble. I'm on Aaron Ramsey to score in the Arsenal game but have decided against a Super Single for now – could still change my mind though.

Arsenal for me will run City and Chelsea close in the title race, they’ll have momentum after qualifying for the CL group stages.
Barcelona has a hideous season under Tata Martino last season with Messi being injured. But they look fantastic so far under Luis Enrique-yet not quite Guardiola level.
Real struggled in the first game, perhaps Ronaldo wasn’t 100% and I still have doubts over the pivot, Khedira has to play. But I still think they’ll win.

Jack, I’m not 100percent but because there’s a different number of teams in the Eastern and Western Conference Leagues it means that there are a few fixtures where East meets West as it were to tally up the games played by each League’s teams. Some sites like Futbol24 display the overall standings between East and West in a single table (which makes sense to me, and is a whole lot easier to get a handle on) whereas the official MLS site splits the tables between East and West as two seperate divisions. And then the play-offs happen. Confused? Me too!

I am of the thinking that Celtic playing away is probably preferred by the players. They are well aware of the embarrassment caused mid-week. There are new players looking to become first team regulars and established players wanting to show the new manager that you are worth another try after Maribor debacle.
I never bet win to nil,but I see Celtic (-1). I am not a Celtic or Scottish football fan, so maybe my impartiality is worth noting.
MonLosBlancos, I can also see Celtic -1 especially if they score reasonably early. I’m not sure about players preferring to play away – their only home game in the league was a 6-1 win against Dundee Utd.

As I’ve always maintained. There’s only 4 sides I properly watch. Chelsea, Dortmund, Barcelona and sometimes Vitesse. Vitesse are awful currently, despite McEachran being a steal, Traore was injured last week and if he’s not back they’re all but done for.
Villarreal may well score. But I’m also backing Barcelona, I think they’ll get close to 100 points this season, and Messi is going to be instrumental in the first month or two especially. 5-2 is better than I expected.

Had success last week with the same bet and Barcelona and it looks even better value with Man City today. The logic is simple: Man City scored 63 and conceded just 13 in 19 home games last season and Stoke rely heavily on their home record. They made hard work of getting a goal against Hull last weekend despite facing ten men for much of the game and I struggle to see that changing today.

Both are very attack minded teams and when these pair meet up there are usuay plenty of goals. You only need to look at the last 5 head heads: all 5 have produced over 3.5goals!!!
So with goals comes plenty of corners in most cases and this is true for these pair…last 5 h2h total corner stats are: 15,9,16,13,12!!
So when I looked at bet.365 today to check the corners markets for this game i was very suprised. They have kindly offered over 11 corners at evens and Real Madrid total match corners over 6.5 at 5/6.
Its early doors season wise but the bookies have called this wrong. REAL madrid have a tasty wealth of attacking flair and with the fact Real sociedad also like to attack on the counter I see corners galore tonight.

Morning gents! Last season I carried out two successful overs series – for those new to the site it’s essentially 30 over 2.5 goals singles! I usually post one a Day but there will be some days I post none and others two! The series is tracked with the results published at the end of the series!
Going to start the series in the next few days given the leagues are now and full swing and we have a better idea of where goals will be scored! :)
Great move Greg. For anyone who hasn’t followed Greg’s series before it’s a great way of seeing how level stakes can make you a profit (all profit is good!) over a fixed period of 30 days.
Did very well on it last time and the results that didn’t come in were real shocks (Celtic 2-0 within 20 mins and unable for either team to get a third goal being one I remember driving home one saturday afternoon!).

Wouldn’t trust CSKA as far as I could throw them, they are capable of destroying teams on any day but it’s been 5 games since they’ve scored more than 1 goal per game. Also the Russian league is as crooked as they come with match fixing, usually on games with prices such as this one.
Personally I’d avoid like the plague just to be safe.
They could win 5-0, of you feel it then go for it, that’s why gambling is a gamble.

Arsenal away to Leicester has the potential to be tricky and see’s the return of Aaron Ramsey to the team. It will be interesting to see what Wenger does with the midfield as one of Cazorla, Wilshire or the Ox will have to miss out if Ramsey plays and they were all very good against Besiktas. Ozil will definately play and I think Alexis will start up front with Giroud now injured. This may be sooner than expected but I think given that Wenger purchased Alexis as a CF he will throw him in at the deep end rather than trusting an unproven Sanogo. Plus, if Sanogo starts than it would add to the midfield dileema as Alexis would still definately play.
My feelings are that whatever team Wenger puts out today will just be far too strong for Leicester. They have started pretty well for a newly promoted team with a difficult first few fixtures but the very calibre of the players mentioned above should have more than enough to win today, especially with our very excellent away record in the league.
At some point you just feel that this team will click and give someone a really good tanking and I just hope that today is that day.

Celtic are my club but after last week via inverness i will never back them again until the team has quality again (could be 100yrs)
I was tempted by the maribor match but stuck to my rule and left it out and so i went on to land a treble.
My experience over the years of following the hoops is to never EVER! back them following games after europe especially away from home, always seemed abit of a come down for the players almost flat from the whole buzz of champions game to then face say a ross county or inverness. If you look at the games following european ties there are more slip ups or near upsets for the hoops. It may well be a little different since it was only a qualifying match last week but all the same its still an away match and dundee will have there chances today.

Morning all, I’ve only been following the site since last April but I want to say a big thankyou to Mr F and all the regular contributors. This is a great site providing honest and real tips to novices and experts alike and after reading some of the nonsense criticism written yesterday it really annoyed me. I’m only a novice but surely you cannot criticise if you blindly follow and then get upset if they lose. Grow up! bet less if losing hurts that much surely.

Im going too discount the yearly stats on this match due too the teams involved participating in different leagues last season. The story so far both clubs couldn’t be more contrasting with Atenas losing 2 from 2 and Racing Club winning 2 from 2. This fixture looks to have goals in it, Liverpool won both meetings last season, a total of 9-0. I think both teams to score looks very likely but at 4/7 it will need to go in an acca.
Liverpool last season were superb going forward but always suspect at the back, and today Johnson, Skretel are out and Agger isn’t included. Tottenham took QPR apart last week and another impressive performance in midweek against lesser opposition granted, I can see Tottenham scoring. Over 1.5g is 5/4 Stan James.
In the goal scoring market it will be interesting to see how Mario Balotelli impacts on Daniel Sturridge. Raheem Stirling may be the better option. Those looking for a big price should look at Eric Dier who as scored 2 in 2 and Liverpool zonal marking leaves them suspect from set pieces. He is 9/1 Betfred. For me I will be on Emmanuel Adebayor, who I tipped last week he scored last week and 2/1 for a striker in a match that looks likely to provide goals is good value.

I don’t expect him to be gone immediately, it’s not so much the results as his demeanor today especially, all through the game he just stood there expressionless, never saw him shout or tell his players anything, it was just strange. Think a lot of people are backing Arsenal for the name Arsenal, plus the fact they’re against a promoted team. Leicester looked decent against Everton and Chelsea and look up for it today again. They might well win it but Leicester shouldn’t be underestimated in any game from what I’ve seen. Need to check on the prices to avoid relegation, could be real value there

ksmolov is the only player expected to be missing from moscows squad after a falling out with the manager. Krasnador have a full squad. Krasnador have only conceeded 1 goal in 5 games. But moscow always seem to hit the net. Kuranyi and kokorin a deadly partnership when on form but can also blow hot and cold.
Still gonna go btts on this purely based on both teams capable of scoring though krasnador are clearly more organised at the back.

Further to my extensive notes about Ligue 2 last weekend, I looked to see if the trend of very few goals continued this week:
By last weekend, 29/40 matches had gone under 2.5 – this was the trend I decided to keep a track on.
The anomalies to this trend were Clermont (4/4 BTTS), Nimes (3/4 over 2.5) and Valenciennes (2/4 over). Therefore I would look at the fixtures and pick under 2.5 goals in each of the other games, whilst picking over 2.5 goals for the matches involving these 3 teams.
Average odds for over 2.5 goals in this division are higher than normal (as it is renowned for being a low-scoring league), coming in around 2.1
Nimes finished 2-2 – over 2.5 WIN
Valenciennes finished 2-1 – over 2.5 WIN
Clermont finished 0-0 – over 2.5 LOSE
So 2/3 wins from the anomalies identified.
For the rest of the division:
6 other matches were played, where I would back them all to finish UNDER 2.5 goals. Average odds being offered across the division for this market was 1.63.
4 out of 6 finished under 2.5 goals – 4 x WIN
2 out of 6 finished over 2.5 goals – 2 x LOSE
With both the anomalies and normal trends added together, it equalled
6 wins (4@1.63 and 2@2.1)
3 losses (2@1.63 and 1@2.1)
If you were to place £1 on each bet (9 bets totalling £9), as it was an experiment to see if the trends followed how the previous few weeks have gone, the return saw £10.70.
The experiment saw a 19% ROI.
Whilst it isnt exactly definitive proof that there’s plenty of money to be made from backing unders in this division aside from certain teams (although 19% ROI for blindly backing a trend without much research isn’t bad), it does give you a chance to see where the value is, in picking the 3 sides for OVER 2.5 goals at odds greater than evens.
Hopefully this may help someone at some point. I found it interesting as an analysis of a league I’ve never followed or cared for before last week.

Hampy, I’m a united fan, and to be honest I’m not too fussed he’s left. I first came across hime when I was on a lad’s holiday in Hamburg in January 2012. Hamburg played Dortmund and got destroyed 5-1 by them. Kagawa and Lewandowski were unbelievable that day and I was so chuffed to hear we had signed him.
But after watching him closely, he’s not strong enough for the Prem and he just hasn’t sparked. Being played out of position has hampered him, and I think he’ll thrive once more at Dortmund, but it’s one of those cases where it just doesn’t work out. In the correct position in the right system, he has shown he can be a fine asset, but that never happened with us and didn’t look like changing. Your thoughts?

Just travelled to my local Paddy Power due to betting restrictions. Thiago Motta gets a rare start in midfield as Cabaye is suspended. Just checked the line up and he’s def starting. Couldn’t believe it when I seen Paddy Power are offering odds of 25/1 for him to score first and 9/1 anytime. This is a huge, huge price. William Hill, Coral and Ladbrokes are giving odds of only 7/1 for Motta to score first goal and 2/1 for him to score anytime. Wato, there are certain teams in certain leagues I always check but some leagues like Peru are very good overall although some sides in it have to be avoided. Englands Division 2 is always a no go and early season in the French top division. Loads of good leagues but it is the actual sides I note.

Couple of thoughts for goals on some later games
Costa Rica Primera Division
Uruguay vs Deportivo Saprissa 10pm
These two sides could not have had a more different start to the season. Uruguay have lost their opening 3 games of the season scoring only one goals and conceding seven and currently sit in 12th and dead last.
Deportivo Saprissa are top of the league with 3 wins from their opening 3 games and the goals have been flying in at both ends as they’ve scored 10 but also conceded 6.
It’s actually Saprissa’s goals against which makes me optimistic for this one as they definitely do not seem to be tight at the back. They won 4-2 at home to Puma who are in 11th and have only scored twice more in their other 3 games, 3-2 at home to Santos who are in 6th and have scored 4 times in their other 3 and 3-2 away to Limon who are 10th and haven’t managed a single goal in their other 2 games.
So although Uruguay are bottom they’re not significantly worse than the other sides Saprissa have faced and conceded against.
Head to head is in favour of Saprissa with 3 wins to one defeat but only two of the four games have gone over 2.5ftg so bear that in mind

Im going too discount the yearly stats on this match due too the teams involved participating in different leagues last season. The story so far both clubs couldn’t be more contrasting with Atenas losing 2 from 2 and Racing Club winning 2 from 2. Atenas lost the first match of the season 3-1 at home too River Plate and the second match 2-0 too Danubio so that’s a F1 A5 record in 2 losses so they seem too be struggling with the step up too the top division for the first time since 2010.Racing are a well established top flight team and have started the season the same way they ended last season with 2 victories,1 of those victories was a 2-0 success away at River Plate who defeated todays hosts 3-1 on their on patch on matchday 1. So far this season they have won 4-2 away at Danubio and 4-1 at home too Cerro. I’ll discount the H2H record as the most recent meeting was back in 2010 but if anyones interested Racing have won the last 3.

Doesn’t help in this game I know but I follow an unwritten rule of never backing odds on away from home. Only exception would be Hearts as I would know enough about them to gauge if it could land.

So when I looked at bet.365 today to check the corners markets for this game i was very suprised. They have kindly offered over 11 corners at evens and Real Madrid total match corners over 6.5 at 5/6.
Its early doors season wise but the bookies have called this wrong. REAL madrid have a tasty wealth of attacking flair and with the fact Real sociedad also like to attack on the counter I see corners galore tonight.

£10 bet at EVENS is a potential £20 return. If at any stage you are offered a 50% profit then accept it so you have £15 back. Then reinvest £2.50 on your original bet so worst outcome is 25% profit, £12.50, but best outcome is 50% profit, £15, plus whatever your £2.50 wins you.

I don’t have the required discipline to cash-out at 50% profit.
But the more I use a bookie with the cash-out option, the more I do cash-out instead of playing a Russian roulette type of gambling. E.g. If I have a (-1) bet as with Madrid tonight, the second it goes 2-0 I accept the cash-out as it is normally well over 50% profit.
I am learning though and do try to adhere to the principal. I have learned the hard way that potential profit = zero. the only profit is when you hit CASH-OUT.
Blancos, an early cash out will cost you some profit at times but if you are doing it when it is more than you staked you are winning each time. Always said that do not look at £10 at 2/1 as £30 back for example, look on it as an option to make a profit so £20 for your £10 is brilliant if you can move into a no loss situation.

you make a good point. For me I am trying to cash-out sooner than I usually do. Reduced profit is better than no profit.
I bet Sevilla to straight win & sevilla (-1) and cashed-out as soon as it went to 2-0. I was tempted to let it ride as it looked as though Sevilla was going to score a good few more. The game ended 2-1. I experience a void when I am able to cash out very early. So maybe placing a very small bet on another match can help you cash-out sooner.

Blancos, that statement is exactly why the bookies hold the upper hand mate. Never ever bet for the sake of it or refuse to cash out as you have nothing else running. If you cash out early go straight to Soccerway and start studying future matches. Lot more boring that watching a bet running but financially you will benefit time and time again.
I understand what you are saying Raal, I didn’t mean to randomly place a bet to pass the time. When a busy football day begins I can have upwards of 20 matches that look winnable, after studying them and reducing that to a handful, I place bets that still stand out after research.
But I do admit that there are occasions that I see a team in-play that previously won me a few pounds, and I have bet on it without research. At least 80% of the time betting enhances my viewing of sport, but the 20% of time that I gamble for the thrill, the unknown and uncertainty.
I enjoy being totally reckless at times. The roller coaster feeling is great. But from my time on here I have managed to cut out around 50% of foolish bets, I now never bet any more than a treble. I don’t bet correct scores. I quickly realised that as you often say Raal that accumulators are a bookies best friend.
Now when I overhear someone saying oh such and such left me down for a 8 team accy, I am grateful for what I learned here.

I don’t know the handicap odds on the other sides at the moment but I reckon you must have been looking at celtic -20 points+ at the start of the season, in which case anyone who took them on , on the handicap, must be in with a shout, as they have 6 euro games to fit in, a league cup game to lose v hearts, Scottish cup etc, have sold their more experienced players recently like ambrose, forster, samaras etc, and seem to be passionless in their play at the moment, which is unlike them.

Stats wise I use soccer way and flash scores quite a lot. For general info I use Sky Sports, BBC sport etc and club websites and forums.
Stats are great and important in football but sometimes general info around the team and the game can be just as crucial. :)
Wish I’d been here for that! I did a bit of luck /research betting to a certain extent last season. And I wish once I got what I had I’d come here and used it properly. Withdrew half and lost half. Let’s just say I won a 102/1 and 60/1 both 5-folds each with 5 quid on. Which is ridiculously stupid looking back on. Because of those and the withdraw I made profit for the season.
Wish I’d found this site with the rest of the profit to teach me everything though.

I find Anytime markets really good value too Shaun. I had a nice Aduriz & Lewandowski double yesterday. When you think of it you could have a pretty good acca sometimes with those.
