IN past weeks it's been all about Dunfermline and on Saturday it was Swansea who were key to a what I hoped would be a profitable day.
They were my 4pts Super Single at 11-10 away to Sunderland and also featured on a 13-2 Top Treble with Hearts and QPR.
However, they let me down by being held 1-1 although I'd advised a 1pt cover on the draw at 4-1 when the Swans were leading so the Super Single tally survives without damage been done. Hearts and QPR kept up their side of the bargain so it was close to being a nice win.
Middlesbrough and Portsmouth beat the homes and it was two out of three on the both to score treble that was surprisingly let down by Aberdeen v Dundee with the away side coming up short. So lots of close calls but no cigars.
On Sunday Man City travel to Everton and Chelsea go to West Brom looking for their first win of the season while in Scotland the televised Rangers v Hibs clash is a 52,000 sell-out and should be a cracker with plenty of goals and maybe a red card.
La Liga kicked off on Friday night but it really gets going on Sunday with Barcelona at an Athletic Bilbao side who beat them 5-1 on aggregate in the Spanish Super Cup and Real Madrid heading to Sporting Gijon. Serie A also sparks to life with champions Juventus while game of the day is Fiorentina v AC Milan.
Last night I put up a double at just under 2-1. I can't see past Rangers against Hibs and the way City have started they should win at Everton. It's good to see a difference of opinion about this tip and that's how it should be – everyone should believe in themselves.
Like Greg Browning I reckon Chelsea will win but I'm not confident enough to put them up until they get that first three points under their belts and see Pedro in action. He's a superb signing in my book.
The other Premier League game is Watford v Southampton and while I can see a shock home win the price has gone so my tip is Odion Ighalo to score at 5-2 with Betway.
Greg speaks a lot of sense and he's right to advise caution when considering teams playing their first or second league match. Look at the results yesterday – Schalke's surprise draw with Darmstadt and Bayern's struggle at Hoffenheim … Atletico just beating Las Palmas.
Barca should get it tough at Bilbao where they lost 4-0 in the cup but that was three days after beating Sevilla after extra time in Tbilisi in the UEFA Super Cup.
Both have scored in five of the last six meetings in Bilbao and that looks the best bet here while Real should get off to a flier at promoted Sporting Gijon. Real should win by at least two and to start the treble I'm taking them -2AH.
Add Serie A champs Juventus who start at home to Udinese and Ajax at NEC. Juve have won their last four at home to the Udine visitors, conceding just one goal.
I'm slightly wary about teams who played Europa League football on Thursday but Ajax visit a venue where they've won five in a row – and look at the scorelines … 3-0, 6-1, 3-0, 2-1 and 4-1.
NEC lost 3-0 at Heracles last week while Ajax have started the league season with two 3-0 wins.
I've been mulling over a Super Single for a few hours and I considered Sergio Aguero to score, Robbie Keane to score for LA Galaxy against New York City tonight, Celta Vigo at Levante and St Etienne at Lorient.
Aguero could be beaten to the punch by the likes of Yaya Toure aand David Silva while Everton's Romelu Lukaku can also be considered.
In the end I've decided to play it safe with my first SS of the season that's not a single. I don't post many accumulators paying evens or under but they have their fans and you have the staking power it's a great way to beat the bookies.
So the Super Single is a variation of part of the treble and is Juventus to win and Real Madrid -1. I'm aiming for double or nothing on the monthly profit.

Here are my previews and suggested bets for the UK action with something to follow later for some of the European fixtures.
Premier League
14:30 West Bromwich Albion vs Chelsea – – Prediction – 1 v 2 – Suggested Bets – Chelsea to win @8/13
Chelsea have just 1 point from 2 league games and they face another difficult test today with a visit to the Hawthorns not the destination Mourinho might have chosen following their punishing loss to City last weekend.
The Londoners have lost in 3 of their last 4 visits to West Brom and failure to pick up the points here is virtually unthinkable for Jose and his Chelsea side that are still way short of top form and already trail the league leaders by 5 points.
I can’t see them slippping up again though, despite the previous history with today’s opponents and I believe they will edge to a victory here although it is unlikely to be as straight forward as they might like with WBA under Pullis likely to pack the midfield and try to stifle the rreativity of Hazard and Fabregas.
21 million bargain signing Pedro could make his debut for Chelsea and I expect big things for the former Barcelona man who has all the ability and desire to be a big success in England and it wouldn’t surprise me to see the winger given a start here with Jose looking to shake things up in his under performing team.
I fully expect a win and I’m very much looking forward to seeing Pedro who could yet turn out to be the signing of the season for Chelsea.
17:00 Watford vs Southampton – Prediction 2.1 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @4/5, Watfprd to win @9/5
Southampton have not started the new season well and I don’t expect it to improve here at newly promoted Watford who will fancy their chances of getting a first win of the new campaign.
Impressive in their 2.2 draw at Everton, The Hornets followed that up with another draw, a 0.0 with WBA the following week but by all accounts their should have been goals and I fancy their will be here with Saints leaking 5 in their opening 2 fixtures.
The visitors were so strong in defence last season but with 4 of last season’s regular back 5 missing for one reason or another, they have really struggled in their opening 2 fixtures as well as being held at home on Thursday evening in the Europa League against Danish side Mjittidland.
Watford scored a lot of goals last season and they have a really experienced boss in Quique Flores who I believe can inspire them to a season of survival, which of course would be a great sucess for the new boys.
In the attacking positions, Watford have real pace and verve and I fancy them to get the better of the Saints today but BTTS is likely as well with both sides playing pretty attractive football on their day and both will see this as a winnable fixture.
I have a feeling Watford can edge it at a big 9/5 odds on but 4/5 on BTTS seems the safer bet.
17:00 Everton vs Manchester City – Prediction – 2.4 – Suggested Bets – City to win @8/11. BTTS @4/6, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20
City have started the season very impressively with consecutive 3.0 wins over both Chelsea and WBA and they will be confident of another win at Roberto Martinez’s Everton in the big Sky Live game at 5pm CET,
History tells us though that City rarely win at Goodison with just 1 win in their last 6 visits, losing 4 of those but I expect their current form to be too hot for Everton who are still very much a hit or miss team.
I do think Everton can score though so the BTTS on offer @4/6 is fine with me but I also like the 8/11 on an away win with Sergio Aguero likely to be the difference maker again for a City side that were so impressive in their dismantling of Chelsea last Sunday.
The new shape of this City side with Raheem Sterling on the left side of the attack seems to have revitalised the team, and with Aguero, Silva and Toure all looking strong, Everton will have their hands full and I expect the visitors to really put on another top showing here but given the history in this fixture, I expect the hosts to fight them to the end and in what could be something of a great game. Fingers crossed.
Martinez always plays to win and I expect this to be an open and exciting game with BTTS and over 2.5 goals also a good possibility at just over evens, 21/20.
I have a feeling we might see a load of goals here so this is a BTTS selection for me and an away win as well so you might want to try the BTTS and win selection which is priced at 23/10 for a City success.

13.30 – Rangers v Hibs – Prediction – 3.2 – Suggested Bets – BTTS ‘@ 4/6, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20, Rangers to win and over 2.5 goals @5/4
Rangers have been in rampant form with 5 successive wins and buckets of goals so far this season but Hibs and their mouthy boss Alan Stubbs should represent their toughest match of the new campaign thus far.
Stubbs has been at it again this week but I don’t expect his antics to have any effect on a Rangers side that are performing superbly since their new man Warburton rolled up to Ibrox 2 months ago.
The Gers have a tendency to leak goals though with their attacking style of play and I fancy a BTTS encounter here as well, priced up @8/11.
Rangers scalped Hibs by 6 goals to 2 in the first match of the season in the Petrofac cup and while I don’t expect a similar scoreline, we could well get the same outcome with BTTS and Rangers winning.
A home win is priced at 4/7 and while I expect it, I feel goals are inevitable so I’ll be on BTTS @ 4/6 and BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 21/20. Rangers to win and over 2.5 goals at 5/4 also looks good to me in what could be an entertaining contest.
I expect Hibs to be agressive and attacking so we should see a bit of a ding-dong match and hopefully a good advert for Scottish football with a 50,000 sell out confirmed for what is a second tier match, albeit between the 2 biggest teams. Remarkable really and I cannot think of another country in the world where 50000 fans will be waking up on a Sunday morning to watch their team in the 2nd division. Hopefully the action on the field will match the ocassion.
If you want a goal-scorer for this one, Kenny Miller is on red hot form and if the starts, the 11/8 anytime goalscorer price looks good to me for a man playing against his boyhood team.

St Gallen don’t score much having only scored more than 1 goal in a game so far this season but with grasshoppers dreadful defensive record this season I’m hoping they can find the net .

Morning Guys, Sunday Premier League
Chelsea travel to West Brom on the back of a heavy defeat by Man City and I expect them to win. West Brom went with two up front against Arsenal in their last home game I cant see them doing that here.
Chelsea lost 3-0 here on the last game of the season but they had the title won and played with 10 men. They also conceded on the road against sides you wouldn’t expect them to do, but again the title was won. I like Chelsea O1.5g at 5/6 Coral. West Brom haven’t scored this season, if Chelsea score first I can see them picking off the baggies on the counter as they become more attacking in front of their home fans.
The second game is Everton v Man City, and the visitors have won both their opening games 3-0, and have scored at least 2 goals in 8 of their last 9 games. Everton have scored in the last six at home against Man City, and I can see City scoring. Everton will be boosted after scoring 3 against Southampton last week, so it is both teams to score for me 4/6 at Skybet.
Aguero was superb against Chelsea last week and can cause the Everton back line problems, he is 10/11 various
The final game is Watford v Southampton and it is hard for teams backing up after a Europa league game, and with talk off player unrest and big bids coming in for Saints big players, it maybe a chance for Watford to get a vital win. Southampton were torn apart by Lukaku, and I will take Troy Deeney to score at 21/10 Betvictor.

Hibs will score today, the way the Rangers team will be set up to attack will leave them vulnerable on the counter. At Easter road a few weeks ago Hibs had 7 players missing.
5 of these players are back in contention and I believe that mcGeough plus Henderson equals a more balanced Hibs than Scott Allan alone. Henderson has the ability to unlock defended and while rangers have impressed, they still look shaky at the back.
I think Hibs will dominate the midfield and if they can keep tabs on the Rangers full backs by pushing up high and not allowing them the space that they can win.

Hibs to score isn’t abad shout but Hibs have been awful this season! Battered by Rangers, a terrible defeat at Dumbarton and they struggled to beat Morton! There is no logic or reasoning behind why anyone would think Hibs can going to go to Ibrox and win by two or three clear goals!
I’m not saying it can’t happen, it’s just extreamly likely! The only people doing -1 and -2 will be hardened Hibs fans :)

There is a lot of confidence riding on Chelsea today and I am not sure where that comes from other than people think there will be a reaction. I will be surprised if Pedro starts and I can see him being bombed out in a season. He is not a Mourinho style wide player. They have been awful so far and the Baggies will have 11 behind the ball due to Pulis admitting he got the tactics wrong v City. Costa is labouring, Hazard not firing, captain pulled at half time, doctors getting sacked something is not quite right at Chelsea. Not saying they will not win just something I do not want to have any money riding on. I liked the look of under 2.5 goals but for similar reasons I’m staying away. Interesting statistic I “think” I read somewhere that the last 6 Chelsea managers have all been sacked after losing to managers with the initial “P”. certainly the last two have been sacked after games v WBA!

I opted for counting on a safety car during the race at anytime with bet365 @ odds of 1/2, its 6/4 that theres no safety car.
BBC stats suggest there’s an 80% chance of a safety car because its a fast circuit, and generally speaking collisions are big collisions not small comings together.
You only have to look at the last 2 days of 3 practice sessions and qualifying to back that up with 3 big crashes.
Ferrari are well down on the grid so they’re going to want be scrapping for places which could result in tussles. Raikkonen is always good value for a crash/engine failure, and this race last season saw Rosberg hit Hamilton. I think the Ferrari’s being far superior to 80% of the field could make for some mid race shenanigans and that’s before we even broach on the subject of the Grid start. Typically since the new hints/tips now not being relayed to the drivers denying them of in radio telemetry to aid with lightening starts particularly from the front grid seems to of put Hamilton at a distinct disadvantage. Rosberg has had it his way now for a few races and beaten Hamilton into the first corner. The Ferrari’s and a few others also overtook Hamilton on the first corner of the last race, which could result in a shunt. Shunts often occur on the first bend with the concertina affect.
Finally the drivers have had a month off and although I’m sure they have been hitting the simulators and practicing the starts, I think a month off could allow a few mistakes and misjudgements to creep in. Ferrari have been showing great starts from the grid and I think its gonna cause shunts/broken wings/flats/retirements and possibly a nice none too serious crash, preferably between Vettel and Rosberg.
If only Carlsberg did motor sports…. wishful thinking.
This race will be won in the first corner and I believe if its a Mercedes, I would lump on that driver to see out the race – but do it in play.
But I will stick with my 1/2 for a safety car to be deployed at anytime, an 80% probability is way too good to miss.

A feast of games today and the one thats caught my sparkling eye is in the Swedish Division 1 Norra at 3pm between Nykopings and Vasteras.
The Bissarna sit 4th in the table, 10 points off the top and their next run of 3 fixtures have been kind, they play against the bottom 3 starting from today. They surely have to fancy 9 easy points.
Last season they beat Vasteras home and away (3-0, 1-4) and I cant see them shaking in their boots this time either, especially after having a week off.
The visitors are dire, last game which took place 3 days ago in the cup went right down to a penalty shootout and lost. For a small team with not much rotation taking place, they’d be knackered after that with not much to show for it. Now they’re playing 4th place and big boys Dalkurd next week, they have to feel things are going against them even more so.
After checking out the markets, Vasteras usually concede more in the 2nd half, actually their last 4 of 5 league away games went over 1.5 2nd half goals and it wasnt them bringing that up. Having played their last game a few days ago, I suspect this will come up again against formidable opposition, with Nykopings trumping this market in 3 of their last 5 homes.
Theres a few I’ve picked out and each with scrumptious odds, I and the bookies cant see anything but a comfortable victory for the home team (7/10 Bet Victor).

Big B, I looked at Dortmund and of course they should win. A couple of things put me off – for an away they were extremely short and also they conceded three at Odd on Thursday which was odd. They hit back to win 4-3 but I had doubts. 1-0 up of course.
Anyone on the Rangers/Man City double should consider covering Everton not to lose or even partial cover on draw if Man City score first.
Part one of treble up too so hoping Juve do the business next.

No time for a detailed post but KR have not been on great form of late and Keflavik have managed to produce some better displays after a really poor start.
I expect a few goals and KR should be too strong. Not much value-wise on this though so will go with something I’ve picked out over last month or so.
