JOHNB had a cosmic winner with his NB Outer Space on Tuesday which was advised at 6-1.

The nap looked on course to complete the double but got boxed in and that cost it any chance. So it was a 2pt profit for the day and our man is now 43.63pts up for the month.

Johnb says: “Wednesday is the start of the York Ebor meeting and what a first day we have with the Juddmonte International with GOLDEN HORN v GLENEAGLES v TIME TEST v THE GREY GATSBY.
“Golden Horn is proven over the distance and further so this has to be made a proper test of stamina with the likes of Gleneagles in the race who is running over 10f for the first time.
“Golden Horn proved last time he can make the running and win which is hard for a horse to do. It’s easier for a horse to track a frontrunner so it’s no surprise to see Anthony Oppenheimer supplement Dick Doughtywylie who was bought for this job.
“The pace will be fast and the Horn will love it.

My first comment on here, well done JohnB, doing a great job of making a few quid for your followers.

I haven’t seen the 1.55 put up yet so lets go for a full house with

Shore Step 12/1 looks like giving a good show

    Best of luck

  7. conor 3 years ago

Do you think the horn might smash it

  8. Martin 3 years ago

    Good Luck today everyone!

I only need Storm The Stars to come through to finish off a 6 fold which i placed yesterday, and it builds me with confidence that Johnb has taken it as his NAP:

    14:00 Ripon
    Mfiftythreedotcom – Won
    15:00 Ripon
    King’s Pavilion – Won
    14:45 Kempton
    Kazziana – Won
    15:45 Kempton
    Hawkbill – Won
    19:50 Chelmsford City
    Radhaadh – Won
    15:05 York
    Storm The Stars – Open

My NAP for the day today is Adventurous, William Buick’s most favored chance of getting a win at York today and riding a Johnston horse which has (Like Storm The Stars) been put down a grade.

I also like the look of Shore Step in the 13:55 at York as an E/W bet.

My NB is a toss up between Midlander as another E/W in the 13:55 (in hope that he returns to winning form after two 7th places) or Sir Billy Wright in the 15:55 at Ffos in hope that he can continue on from last week’s win.

I think Big Thunder may do well in the 16:20 at York too..

Good Luck to anyone who follows, I will look back in the morning for the tips of others!

  9. Paul Durcan 3 years ago

Best of luck Martin that is impressive picking hope you can make your 6fold.

At last the horn has a credible challenge off level weights in time test and Gleneagles. You can forget the rest off 8lb higher.
If it was a mile Gleneagles would win for sure, but as he is untried beyond a mile it has to be the horn.

  18. Alex 3 years ago

Keeping it simple tomorrow despite the tracker throwing out Time Test! Golden Horn all day long for me. Perhaps if you want some e/w value to place then its the Great Gatsby but not something I will be on. I think the 3:05 is a wide open race and it will really depend on how it is run. I would prefer to take my chance in this race with a horse that is open to more improvement especially since Storm The Stars (classy) has had a fair few races already. I will be on Tashaar and so it’s a Dettori double. I will also take singles:

    3:05 Tashaar 9/2
    3:40 Golden Horn 4/6

    Double 8.18/1 Bet365

At 4/7 John B I could not have that price in a race like this, I hope your right because I know a lot of people follow your great tips. However if I was forced to take 4/7 I would rather take the 4/7 about Sharja Queen in the first race at Ffos Las, it pays the same money.

    Good Luck

One more that I am backing as an interest i.e. perssies in the 1:55 @York Tangerine Trees 20/1 E/W I’m going for the auld boy here as it looks well treated in the weights and this is over 5f after running a creditable 4th last month at York over 6f.

Storm The Stars bids to cement his position as ante-post favourite for the Ladbrokes St Leger when he lines-up for the Betway Great Voltigeur Stakes at York on Wednesday.

He heads the market for the final Classic of the season at Doncaster on September 12 after a string of fine performances at the highest level.

Placed in both the English and Irish Derbies, the William Haggas-trained colt was third to Erupt in the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp on his latest start.

Storm The Stars takes his racing extremely well and will be having his eighth run of the campaign.

“We’re hoping he can win. It’s never easy, but he’s beaten most of them and hopefully that will continue,” said Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum.

“I think they’ve got him to beat rather than the other way round. We’re the confirmed better horse on form at the moment.

“It’s unlike William’s training to run him that much, but he has to keep on top of this horse. He gets very fresh.”

Check out Sky Bet’s York Money Back offer and more!
Balios gave a fine performance to win the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot on just his third start but was then just behind Storm The Stars when fifth in the Grand Prix de Paris.

Connections of the David Simcock-trained colt felt their horse did not show his true running and are expecting a better effort this time, although he has a 3lb penalty for his Group Two success.

“The French race was too messy – it certainly didn’t suit him,” said the Newmarket handler.

“He got struck into quite badly in France and I don’t think we saw him in his best light by any means.

“But I’d say he has come out of the race probably better than he came out of Ascot. He is going on to carry on improving but it isn’t going to be easy with a 3lb penalty, though.”

Jamie Spencer has ridden Balios in all his three starts this season and believes the track at York will play to his mount’s strengths.

“It is a St Leger Trial, so a lot of these horses are using this as a stepping stone towards Doncaster for the final Classic of the season,” Spencer said in his Coral blog.

“I didn’t think he ran his race last time out at Longchamp for whatever reason that might be.

“The slow pace did not help, but either way, he is better than that and he hopefully he can show it at a galloping track which suits him.”

Richard Hannon “We think the world of this fellow. He was very impressive when stepping up in trip and carrying top-weight last time. That was only his second race and he could be anything, so we have decided to supplement him to find out whether he is the real deal.”
    Richard Hannon
Tashaar is being pitched in at the deep end after following up his Haydock debut success with an impressive handicap win at Glorious Goodwood.

The Richard Hannon-trained colt, owned by Al Shaqab Racing, was added to the field at the supplementary stage last week.

“I didn’t want to take on the older horses in the Geoffrey Freer and this was the next step up if he is to be a St Leger horse,” said Hannon.

“He looks like being a very talented horse, but he needs to be in these races to know what we are and where we are going.

“We think the world of this fellow,” the Herridge handler told

“He was very impressive when stepping up in trip and carrying top-weight last time. That was only his second race and he could be anything, so we have decided to supplement him to find out whether he is the real deal.”

Aidan O’Brien goes for broke with three runners – Aloft, Bondi Beach and Giovanni Canaletto.

Aloft, runner-up in the Racing Post Trophy in October, made a successful reappearance in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot.

Giovanni Canaletto finished behind Storm The Stars in both English and Irish Derbies.

Bondi Beach is the least exposed of the trio, having short headed stablemate Order Of St George in the Group Three At The Races Curragh Cup on the latest of his three starts.

“He had a break after the Curragh, but he is progressing,” said O’Brien.

“He’s just ready to start back again. It’s his first run after a break and he will progress more after this.”

Trainer David Brown is hoping Medrano will put up a good show to confirm his place in next month’s St Leger and any cut in the ground would aid his cause.

Winner of the Listed Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton last month, Medrano has run creditably against classy opposition on several occasions including when third to Storm The Stars at Goodwood in May.

He was a staying-on fourth behind the O’Brien-trained Highland Reel in the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last time.

“They’ve had a bit of rain today which is good,”said the Newark handler. “He came out of his race at Goodwood well and he’s ready to go.

“I think we’ve every chance. He’s a good horse and obviously we’re trying to go for the Leger. That’s the one number target really.”

    1:55 – Caspain Prince @ 25/1 each way.
Five lengths behind Muthmir lto, the softer ground will bring a much better performance than that.

    2:30 – Recorder @ 5/1
Hard to get away from William Haggas record here and the booking for Frankie makes it harder to look anywhere else.

    3:05 – Alot @ 10/1 each way
Interesting runner, the outsider of the three O’Brien runners, however the selection has beaten the favourite and won over further than this trip.

3:45 – Golden Horn !!! My heart says win but my head says Bounce.

    4:20 – Oasis Fantasy @ 7/1
Beaten Fav LTO with Richard Hughes, did stay on late but to late, again Frankie is a big positive.

4:55 – Shawaahid / Dark Defender, i will take these two each way, both double figures in a race paying 5 places on BFSB.

This is my first ever post on here, I’ve been a silent follower for a long while now. Just have to say a big thanks today after doubling my stakes yesterday with a great day including winners @8/1, 10/1, 8/1, 4/1, 2/1, 5/2 & 15/2 and now to top it all off we start with Abbas and Postman slamming home a 28/1 winner……I didn’t think yesterday could get any better. Keep up the good work folks and let it be known there are plenty of people who don’t comment who appreciate what you all do. It takes balls to put your tips up for all to see. Keep at it and take it to those bookies!!

      Flat track bully ?
1st time horn has been asked a serious question he didn’t fancy it.
Hopefully this puts to bed the word great being associated with horn.
Good winner of the derby, beating an average crop of 3 year olds, couple of wins since against decent, not great older horses, getting the age weight allowance.
Last time you hear from me on this subject as I know I go on a bit.

  134. Bertie 3 years ago

How on earth did that happen

  135. swfc 3 years ago

Lot of great picks again today dudes :)
SILVER MOON 4.05 ease’s the pain at 3/1 of GOLDEN HORN(on at 4/6) getting it from a 50/1 shot!? 😐

3/5 with REPUTATION 6/1(Johns) to run in my Canadian

  143. Snurkz 3 years ago

Pretty sure the fact he’s had to make up a lot of ground on what’s probly worse then good to soft , to a horse with soft form may have something to do with it.

Just saying – storm stars wins again < clearly not an average horse golden horns beat . And the fact horns put almost 4 lengths between himself and grey gatsby proves he's not beating average horses?

You've got to see it as just unlucky , and well done to de souser ( who's flying ) he's given Arabian queen just enough to get job done and rode him to his strengths . Take nothing away he very much deserved the win.

  144. Snurkz 3 years ago

Any1 with coral all bets refunded on horn up to 25 as free bet

  145. Martin 3 years ago

  148. JonnyUTD 3 years ago

1.55 Midlander 20/1 NB e/w lost (was awful)

2.30 Cymric 8/1 e/w nap Place (great run, but others in front better)

Gleneagles didn’t run, probably would’ve won if it did from the looks of things.

I can’t decide who to bet on in the 4.55 so I’ve done 2 e/w so hopefully 1 wins and 1 places ! roaring forties at 19/1 e/w and tawwaaq 12/1 each way.

fingers crossed. Well done on the nap John, very pleased to see it winning. Golden horn just didn’t show its true power.

To be fair Mr F dougie was just saying what a lot of people were thinking. That type of negativity is not needed on the thread.

Well done to dougie, abbas, postman and martin. Iv only been able to quickly scan through the comments so apologies if ive missed anyone.

  159. Kendog 3 years ago

    Thursday’s tips

Tasleet 7/4 NAP/NB hills (double stake)

    Easton Angel 9/2 hills

    Double 14.13/1 hills

I had Tasleet as my main bet for the York meeting even though it’s a big field, by far the best horse on form

  163. Striker 3 years ago

Nice job Alan M with the NAP, thought it was done and out paced, but then out got a turbo from somewhere

  164. Johnb 3 years ago

Still a great horse Golden Horn just wasn’t to be today,
I don’t agree with John Gosden saying the ground was a factor, he just didn’t settle and pace maker didn’t do his job going that far in front

  165. Alanm 3 years ago

Yea Striker who said the power of prayer doesn’t

  166. Duncan Poundcake 3 years ago

Still going with W Haggas blind, Tasleet, hopefully the bigger the field ,the biger the certainty GL.

Clarky, as I said I can’t say what it is at the moment because it’s not published. Has two words though. I can’t meet you at Hamilton on Friday because as you’ll understand I’m a bit busy on Fridays. Email me about the ban being lifted – it can only be lifted under certain conditions.
