JOHNB couldn’t add to his wonderful week with a winner on Saturday so it was three points lost.

He is still a more than healthy 47.63pts in profit for August and is advising a double among his Sunday selections.

John do you give Euro Charline a chance in arlington tonight?

  2. johnb 1 year ago

Cooldude Euro Charlene does have a chance but STEPHANIES KITTEN 6/1 is a big danger and would be my pick

The best bet of the night at Arlington though could be FORCE THE PASS 7/2 in the 22:17 race

  3. Gaz 1 year ago

I bet with bet365 and can’t see odds for Arlington tonight does anyone no why this could be . Thanks

  4. JerryP 1 year ago

Do you not think the 7lb penalty will stop force the pass johnb?

  5. Martin 1 year ago

Hey everyone i hope you all did well today.

I have a night NAP for those who want to follow:

    23:48 Maverick Wave @ Arlington (USA) 6/1

So far two European horses have came out on top against the Yanks.

Jockey & Trainer of Maverick Wave; John Gosden/William Buick.. says it all to me really.. I think this has a very good chance of winning, and The Pizza Man may be worth a small EW shot -The Pizza Man was pulled from an earlier race to feature in this (albeit he was much more favored in the race which he was pulled out of) odds for him are around the 12/1 mark

    Good Luck if you follow!

I’m sorry John, but for once I was super happy your nap lost. Got on Adaay at 11/1 bet victor this morning, and was so confident but didn’t post it up. Did it each way, I just love this horse and thought its 7th at Ascot must’ve been a one off. So happy to see it win, was screaming at the tele. Lovely horse.

Will be on yours tomorrow though! Best of luck.

Also just put 1.5 points on JohnB’s tip of Stephanies Kitten in the 23:05; just heard something which swayed me to jump on JohnB’s selection

    3:15 Pontefract – Dis Gift @ 3/1 (NAP)

Harley Turner reported that she could not wait to ride this one again after finishing 2nd on it LTO at Carlisle and sounded confident of reversing that result in this race.

    4:05 Southwell – Cut the Corner @ 3/1 (NB)

We are getting very close to the time of year when Dr Richard Newland has a purple patch of winners, young Will Kennedy in the saddle and the form figures suggest it is ready.

    4:45 Dundalk – Shukov @ 14/1 (each way)

CAUTION: This horse is third reserve for this race, but I do expect it to get in, the trainer has three horses in the race and I would not be shocked if he pulled the other two so to get this in. Had a pipe opener a few days ago and will be ripe for this.

    Johnb Nap some info

David Lanigan has his team in rude health at the moment and his ALMODOVAR looks something to bet on when he runs in the 1m4f handicap at Pontefract on Sunday (due off 2.45pm).

The Lambourn based handler has not looked back since sending out Interception (who runs later in the 3.45 race) to win the Wokingham at Royal Ascot, with his last runners finishing 122243144710, and his strike rate on turf for this seasonnow stands at a healthy 24%. He doesn’t tend to over-face his horses so the fact the selection has been given a St Leger entry is a measure of his belief in the improving three-year-old.

The son of Sea The Stars has a long way still to go before justifying his entry in the Doncaster Classic, but he is clearly going the right way. After getting off the mark at only the second time of asking over 1m2f at Ayr last month, he had no problem following up off a mark of 80 on his handicap debut at Leicester last time, despite showing signs of greenness.

He will have learned a lot from that and the extra two furlongs of today’s race should be right up his street as he looked stronger at the finish than at any other stage at the Midlands track. What’s more, the handicapper has raised him just 6lb for his three-quarter length success and his new mark of 86 surely underestimates his true ability – a rating in the high 90s should be within his compass this season and he’ll be an even better horse next season.

In any more encouragement for a bet was needed you only need to look at his jockey George Baker’s record when riding the stable runners. Since teaming up with Lanigan in 2014, he’s booted home 20 winners from his 55 rides (36%) for a phenomenal £1 level-stakes profit of £93.68, with this season’s stats standing at a far from shabby 13-30 (43%) for a profit £45.80.
And yes it was a copy and paste. :)

AC, I hope you did it before that double bogey.
I tipped Day as did Ace and he was running away with it until that slip-up.
Spieth now back in the running – should be great stuff tomorrow.

  22. Ac 1 year ago

Martin I back hundred doubles when I can afford to. It’s hard to hold foot to them but vaule is the way forward for them. When I’m not goin as good I go to 20 quid trebles. Day I’ve layed off 487 before double bogey which leaves plus 80 odd quid for the weekend no matter wat and that’s good no matter wat. I hate givin them bookies money it really gets to me cause of the fact they have them machines in the bookie shops and is killing the public

  23. Martin 1 year ago

1 point each and a 1 point treble:

My NAP of the day is the first race at pontefract; Secret Ambition 4/1. To me it looks a 3 horse race based on the trainers. I don’t know much about Liam Jones on Shaka Zulu (horse looks good), and Appleton is making it’s debut, with Tony Hamilton at the reins.

That said, this is the only race in which both Fanning is racing at Ponte, and the only race in which Johnston has a horse running there. I’m hoping that Joe Fanning can lead this Johnston horse to a victory. When given the right horse, Fanning looks good over the 5-7 furlong distance. Last two wins were both 6f, one on a Haggis horse and one on a Johnston horse.. there’s my long reasoning, sorry.

NB – Steps And Stars 17:35 Southwell 7/2. I have a feeling this horse will do well for Jonjo O’Neill. Hopefully his 5 year old can take on the 9 year old Steel Gold who won its last race. I can’t see any other challengers apart from Perseid, who hasn’t really looked good at all looking at recent results..

I also like the look of Sweet Missi in the 5.20 at Pontefract at 11/1 -i’ll go with this as my e/w star pick. De Sousa riding Ellison

    Good luck anyone who follows!

Lads I’ve been considering de Bromhead’s Beckwith Star in the 1520 at Tramore since it opened at 4/1 yesterday. In to 11/4 now so value isn’t great but I think it’s a race it could win so it’s where my money is going (even though I hate betting against Coldstonesober, available at 9s).

Wasn’t to be Almodovar’s day but looking at that run, we will definitely make money on that horse,
He was just sadly very green, leaning into the rail all down the straight Baker just couldn’t get the forward momentum,
This was the perfect example of what can happen in a race, Almodovar was clearly the best horse in the race but greenness beat him

  68. johnb 1 year ago

Gleneagles is going into uncharted territories trying to take on the best 10f and 12f over 10f on wednesday,
I advised people on here last year that the two horses to watch for in the 2000 Guineas were John F Kennedy and Gleneagles, at the time they were both 25/1 but I didn’t advise them as bets just horses to watch.
Gleneagles has shown himself as the best 3yo miler but is unproven at 10f

Golden Horn has proved himself over 10f and 12f in style, even Dettori has said he hasn’t been tested yet as he has hit the line running in all his races
After all the great horses Dettori has ridden, we as punters have to listen to what he says about Golden Horn
Some people may think I am biased towards Golden Horn but I never tip for tippings sake, I never say a horse owes us nothing so I don’t tip or back a horse because it has been good to me,
I tip a horse because I think it will win.

I would be surprised if Gleneagles were to run against Golden Horn but I hope he does

  69. Ac 1 year ago
