ANDY MURRAY avoided back-to-back early exits as he defeated Tommy Robredo 6-4 7-5 in their rain-delayed second-round match at the Rogers Cup.
The British No.1 had fallen victim to a shock against Teymuraz Gabashvili in Washington last week but there was no slip-up in Montreal where Murray is second favourite for the title at 4-1 (Betfred) behind Novak Djokovic (4-5, Sportingbet).
World No.1 Djokovic plays his third-round match today with a first meeting against home favourite Jack Sock, a 12-1 underdog at bet365, while Kei Nishikori faces David Goffin and Rafa Nadal tackles Mikhail Youzhny.
In the Super League Castleford could move into the play-off spots with victory over Warrington and Warwickshire hosts Essex in cricket's T20 Blast.

D’backs o8.5 hits @ 1.83 *won*
Add
Indians o7.5 hits @ 1.66 *won*
Double @ 3.05 (50% stake) *won*
Just had a little look back at my bets and since concentrating on the hits market I’m 7 from 9 on my singles and 3 from 7 (I think) on the doubles (usually 3.0+), so not doing too bad.
Nice work Dazzler. Always try and get on the singles when I can.

Brandle for a place 1-3 @ 2.00 with 888
Was tempted to take Brandle to beat Malori in this time trial. These two are the best time trialists to start, but Brandle at evens for a podium place is a very good bet.
Tonight’s mlb
Indians o8.5 his @ 2.0
I like the look of Royals and Indians ml both at evens, both at home against ‘big’ name teams and both home teams in form and against teams that are struggling.
Both away teams would probably be considered to have the ‘better’ starting pitcher but their offenses have been poor. Yankees 6 runs in their last 5 games (Indians 41 runs from last 5). Angels 9 runs in last 5 (Royals 26 runs from last 5).
I would be surprised if they are still both evens at the start of the games.
Royals @ 2.0
Indians @ 2.0
Double @ 4.0 (50% stake)
Cheers Baggio, hopefully I can keep it going.
Lorenzi 1/3
Bolleli 2/9
Basic 11/8
Ymer 8/11
Tsuresnko 1/2
10/1
Plumping for a short price double today as I can’t see anything else I really like. Though I’m half expecting to check the scores later and see Youzhny has dumped Nadal out having suddenly found some form out of nowhere!
Karlovic d Chardy
Bryan/ Bryan d f.Lopez/ Myrni
Pays a little over evens.
I find it hard to see chardy being consistent enough to beat karlovic when he’s serving this well. Any loose service game from the erratic Frenchman and that could be the set gone like that.
Bryan/bryan are just much better than their opponents, who only boast around a 50% win record together. Bryan’s are in superb form as unbeaten in 8, taking 2 titles in the process.
Good luck

I am going to focus on football from now on
Don’t go lumping any serious money down on this as its pre season, but I’m putting a couple points on the Packers +3 in their pre season game vs the Pats. Brady is busy in court so Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Lindley will be taking snaps an center for the Pats, MVP Aaron Rodgers is expected to play as well as all starters for Green Bay, but probably won’t see more than a quarter. Even if the likes of Cobb, Nelson, Lacy don’t take many snaps I’d still fancy them to edge this one with Scott Tolzien and draftee Brett Hundley at center.
NFL – Pre Season – 12:30AM
Green Bay Packers +3 @ 20/21 @ Skybet – 2 points
After last nights odds on collapse by 3 of my 4 selections im hoping Gavrilova Tsurenko and Karlovic will do me an early favour today, good luck all
Been a big follower of Mr.F’s pages for a while now, whilst picking and choosing tips that i also fancied.
Thought i’d post a couple of tips of my own – so will kick off with a couple of Rugby Union tips, as this is where most of my knowledge is! I personally sick to average size odds, with an average size stakes when betting on Union. Due to the incredible amount of variables that can influence the result of a Union game, I never go big on games. Although i have had some success recently and in some cases wish i had gone bigger – but doesn’t everyone with a winning bet….?
Anyway, the first bet i have picked is for the England vs France game at Twickernham. England’s starting 15 is largely made up of what is considered a ‘second string’ with several players being given a chance to prove themselves. France on the other hand (by their poor standards) appear relatively settled and their starting 15 is full of players who have come of the back of an excellent club season. The closer it gets to a WC, the more teams will tighten up as the focus on the finer details. With this in mind im predicting a low scoring game and would be inclined to look at Under 47 total points for the match.
However my tip for this fixture will be:
France to win with a +9 handicap
Bet365 odds: 10/11
(15th Aug, 8pm KO)
My next tip is also for Saturday evening and will be on South Africa.
South Africa to win with a -5 handicap
Bet365 odds: 10/11
(15th Aug, 8.40pm KO)
An exceptional South Africa had an off day when they lost last weekend to Argentina but i fully except their young and brutal squad to bounce back big time this weekend when they go full steam into world cup mode.
Don’t see many Rugby tips on here – so climb on these two (i will be doing as two singles) if anyone fancies a change of pace!
GL lads.
JamieF, good have to a rugby man in – 36 days to the World Cup and another Scotland disaster (probably).
Super League Rugby Castleford V Warrington
Its make or break for the Wire following last weeks tonking v Leeds, currently they sit 4 points behind Cas and a loss today will all but end their top 4 chances. I remember few weeks back when Warrington struggled to beat Leigh and conceded 20 odd pts against the lower league team then they played my Wigan boys and smashed us. Am hoping for similar performance tonight, they got few players back too Atkins, Harrison and msot notably Westwood who was banned following a dangerous tackle few weeks ago against Cas (Wire won that game easily) and the war of words have stoked this up nicely.
SkyBet got a nice special of Joel Monaghan to score and Warrington to win with a 2 start on handicap 11/4 so am having bit of that also couple of try scorers
Ben Currie 11/5 at Ladbrokes and at a big price
Ben Harrison 7/1 at Ladbrokes
Should be start of good weekend even if 2moro i got to choose between Wigan V Leeds and Man U kicking off at same time!!
MLB bet for early games
Single @ 6/5 (£10)
Oakland Athletics @ Toronto Blue Jays
Toronto Blue Jays -1.5
Tuned in to karlovic v chardy at end of set 2 and Ivo is playing like an absolute clown. Volleying everything into the net and his serve isnt there. Chardy looking good now
Evening Guys Castleford Tigers v Warrington Wolves
The second round of the Super 8s comes from the Jungle as the Tigers face the Wolves. This looks a tough game to call, the bookies make Castleford favourites with Warrington getting a 2pt start on the handicap.
Castleford Tigers make just one change, Michael Channing returns and Paul McShane misses out. Warrington are boosted by the return of Ben Westwood, Ben Harrison and Ryan Atkins.
I tipped Leeds to cover the handicap last week against Warrington but even I was surprised how bad the Wolves were, it was a shocking performance and a couple of weeks ago I mentioned rumours were growing head coach Tony Smith wont be here next season and after that showing last week, those rumours wont go away.
Castleford could have been well beaten last week as they started poorly against Hull and were 12-0 down inside 5 mins and Hull had chances to increase the lead. I think Warrington with the two big Bens back (Harrison and Westwood) could nick this has they had size to the Wolves pack. My only concern backing the Wolves is if they fall behind early their confidence will evaporate very quickly. I think Castleford will try and start fast throw the ball out wide and try an expose the Warrington edge defence. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a drop goal. It is 3/1 Betway.
In the try scorer market Michael Shenton got four tries last week but it’s his wing man the cannonball Justin Carney I want to be with. He as scored 15 in 16 this season and is 5/6 Skybet. For Warrington I am sticking with their best player of the season and that’s young Ben Currie. He can cause problems when he runs into the centres and has the speed to get through the line, I expect Wolves to use their big pack to get down the field and Currie could be on the end of some set moves. He is Warrington’s top scorer this season and looks good at 11/5 Ladbrokes.
DROP GOAL 3/1
CARNEY TO SCORE 5/6
CURRIE TO SCORE 11/5
Good luck if your having a bet

Chief well done with carney and the drop goal been looking at new market for team to score 3 unanswered tries to go no is always odds against and it’s come in a few times wonder what stats are on it for games with tight handicap like -6 or less, think will have look 2moro if quiet at work
Result Castleford 17 – 16 Warrington
DROP GOAL 3/1 WON
CARNEY TO SCORE 5/6 WON
CURRIE TO SCORE 11/5 LOST
:D Beating the bookies :D
Lee, cheers mate not a market I often look into, Leeds would have done it last week against Warrington and I suspect they could do it in the Challenge Cup final, but generally yeah at decent odds could be worth a punt.
