TopTips_Betfred

SATURDAY didn't go as well as hope but in many ways it went as badly as expected.

I advised playing with the lowest stakes possible because day one of the season is the toughest time to pick results.

Accumulators would have been difficult to hit but there were of course some decent singles and doubles stuck up. Nothing's much changed for Sunday with caution the key word until we some form trends.

The English TV game is Wolves v Norwich – a side that was in League One last season against a team who played in the top flight.

Wolves will be looking to put on a show here but may have to settle for a point at best against the Canaries who have lost Robert Snodgrass but brought in Lewis Grabban and Kyle Lafferty and held on to Gary Hooper and Leroy Fer for now.

Wolves should be a force ay Molineux but Norwich have plenty of firepower so best could be both to score.
In Scotland there are three good-looking matches – Abereen v Dundee United and Ross County v St Johnstone in the Premiership and Rangers v Hearts in the Championship.

Aberdeen have played themselves into the season with six games in the Europa League and were praised by Real Sociedad's boss in midweek after giving them a scare at Pittodrie.

A full house roared on the Dons and there will be another big crowd for the New Firm derby. The Dons are favourites to finish second behind Celtic and will hope for plenty of goals from the likes of Adam Rooney, Niall McGinn and David Goodwillie.

Dundee Utd have lost star turns Ryan Gauld and Andy Robertson to Sporting Lisbon and Hull but that was expected and they still have a decent squad.

However, I'm on Aberdeen at 5-4 with boylesports and can see both teams scoring in this one as they have in four of the last five meetings.

St Johnstone have also been active in Europe but have lost star striker Stevie May to Sheffield Wednesday and I'm not sure they should be favourites away to Ross County.

Saints are 6-4 at Coral and McBookie while County are as big as 21-10 with William Hill and I'll be on the Dingwall men not to lose (double chance) at 3-5 with bet365.

There has been a lot of talk on the site about Rangers-Hearts with regular commentator raaljaca convinced the Jambos won't lose.

Bookies have seen plenty of money on Gers who are no bigger than 8-11 with Paddy Power and bet365 and after the way they were held in 90 minutes by a weaker Hibs side in midweek that's no value.

Hearts, having come down for the Premiership, should have enough belief to go to Ibrox and match up to Rangers and I don't expect them to lose.

I'm not brave enough to take Hearts at a best 19-5 with Stan James but I like the look of Hearts not to lose at 6-5 with William Hill. Again it's one where both teams should score.

After yesterday I'm reluctant to do too many tips but how's this for a Daily Double from France. I'm on Monaco to start their season by beating Lorient despite the loss of James Rodriguez to Real Madrid.

Monaco may struggle to live with PSG this season but still have fit-again Radamel Falcao and Dimitar Berbatov and face a side who have won just one of six friendlies under a new boss and who will be without their first-choice centre-halves.

Lyon beat Mlada Boleslav in the Europa League so should be ready for a home meeting against a Rennes side who struggled to stay up last time. It was a strong finish to the season by Lyon who are hoping for a good enough campaign for a return to the Champions League.

Other sides I looked at were Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup against Rio Ave but put put off slightly by the club selling £85million of talent in the likes of Matic to Chelsea and Markovic to Liverpool and spending just £11m on replacements.

Benfica should win and beat Rio Ave in both cups last season on the way to the treble but their opponents knocked Gothenburg out of the Europa League and should put up a fight.

Ajax are also short as they kick off the league season at home to Vitesse after losing the Super Cup to Zwolle last weekend. They have also lost players and are notorious bad starters – and they haven't beaten their opponents in four games.

I haven't even touched on the Community Shield between Arsenal and Man City but for me this is a glorified friendly and I'd like to see line-ups before considering a bet.

    RANGERS VS HEARTS TIPS

I see a Rangers victory here (sorry Raaljaca) and I’m going for a 2-1 or 3-1 score line. I’m backing Kris Boyd for first goal. He’s generally available at 7/2 but Coral have enhanced his price to 5/1 which is very generous. Anyone looking for value then what about Nicky Law to score anytime. He hit an injury time winner against Hibs and last season he scored 11 goals in 32 appearances which is decent for a midfielder. He’s 12/1 to score first with Coral but after deciding on Boyd for first goal Ive decided to back Law to score anytime instead at a stand out price of 5/1 with Coral. Next best price for him is 5/2 and William Hill go as short as 9/5. I think Coral have this one wrong.

    Recommended Bets:
KRIS BOYD FIRST @ 5/1 (Coral)
NICKY LAW ANYTIME @ 5/1 (Coral)
    RANGERS 2-1 @ 17/2 (Ladbrokes)
    RANGERS 3-1 @ 14/1 (Ladbrokes)

    Good luck everyone!!!!

easiest job in football playing in goals against rangers at ibrox

  2. Chris Guy 10 years ago

I may well be wrong but I just think with the first league game being at Ibrox they will want to get their campaign off to a flying start. Bet rescue have put up an interesting analysis and they suggest 2-1 to Rangers and also mention Boyd for first goal. Their main tip or the match is rather interesting though, Rangers to score a penalty @ 11/2.

  3. John Regan 10 years ago

Chris guy looked at bet rescue yesterday seems a strong tip for a penalty to rangers.

    SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIP

    RANGERS V HEARTS 3.00

    HEARTS DOUBLE CHANCE 6/5 (HILLS)

    A likely Hearts side of;

    ALEXANDER

    MCGHEE OZTURK WILSON

    KING GOMIS BAUBEN WILSON

    CARRICK OLIVER

    SOW

Is quite likely to see Rangers making a few reasonable chances of scoring but the threat posed by Carrick and Oliver with Osman Sow in the middle will guarantee Hearts will really pressurise an average Rangers defence. With the option of Sam Nicholson coming off the bench I honestly believe we can score twice at Ibrox and guarantee at least a draw. Robbie Neilson will send this side out not fearing Rangers one bit and believing that we can come away from Ibrox with a decent result to carry us through to next weeks game at home to Hibs.

    Here is the article

A few years ago it would’ve been inconceivable that a showdown between Rangers and Hearts would be taking place outside of the top flight but they meet today as Championship teams both harbouring ambitions to return to the Premiership.

The ‘Gers cruised to the League One title last term but they won’t find life as easy in the second tier and the Jambos can give them a real taste of just how tough it’s going to be at Ibrox today. Nevertheless, home advantage gives Ally McCoist’s boys the edge according to punters, who have backed the hosts in to 17/20 at BetVictor.

Robbie Neilson’s charges, apparently playing 10 v 11 practice matches in training at Riccarton in case they have a man dismissed, are Stan James’s 3/1 outsiders and it’s 13/5 courtesy of bet365 to finish all square but all of the money so far has been for Rangers.

The flow of bets however, doesn’t reflect how tight a contest this is set to be and indeed punters getting stuck into the Light Blues might be better served backing them at 11/4 (Skybet) to shade it by a one-goal margin.

In a clash that looks a banker to see both teams get on the scoresheet, the ‘Gers are a generous 17/2 via Ladbrokes to register a 2-1 triumph or alternatively the same firm make them 5/2 to emerge victorious but also concede at least once.

In attack, McCoist has plenty of firepower at his disposal but it’s returning striker Kris Boyd that has been all the rage in the first scorer betting, where he’s 15/4 (bet365). Meanwhile, Neilson has suggested that the referee might be influenced by the huge, vociferous Ibrox crowd and those in agreement with the Hearts boss can back the hosts at 11/2 courtesy of Paddy Power to score from the spot

    Arsenal v Man City

    Over 2.5 goals @ 8/11

Both teams have scored in 8 of the last 10 games, whilst 7 of them saw over 2.5 goals, with 5 of those also going over 3.5 goals.

Looking at the two teams competing, Man City won the league last season largely down to their goal-scoring prowess, scoring 102 goals in their 38 league games. Overall their Premier League games averaged a whopping 3.66 goals per game, with 66% of them ending with over 2.5 goals. Opponents Arsenal had more neutral goal trends, with exactly half of their Premier League games ending with over 2.5 goals.

With this Shield not taken too seriously, neither team has much to lose here and with that in mind I expect an open game with a fair few goals. It’s a bit short priced but I guess it’s money, isn’t it?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Chip, I agree goals is the way to go but I want to see line-ups before convinced. Anyway, I’m off – let’s hope for a decent day on Sunday.

  20. Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Hey lad’s, Chelsea/Chelsea at 10/11 vs Burnley looks ridiculous to me. I know I’m a Chelsea fan, but this is the first time since we last won the league I’m confident of us winning the league, the past few years I didn’t even think we’d finish top two.

I’d expect a line-up something along the lines of:

    Courtois
    Luis, Terry, Cahill, Azpilicueta
    Matic
    Fabregas, Oscar
    Hazard, Willian
    Costa

I’d expect at least a 2-0 or 3-1 to us in all honesty.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jack, well if that’s the team it looks a steal but will it be that strong? Right tips are up – McIlroy now a best 17-20 with Coral to win the US PGA. Watched his final round and he scored 67 playing badly. Can see him storming away with it tomorrow and another antepost tip Fowler is in the hunt again.

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Well let’s put it this way

Courtois has had a tiny knock, but I see no difference between him and Cech.

Luis and Terry didn’t play in the World Cup, Azpilicueta and Cahill were both knocked out in the group stages.
Matic didn’t go to the world cup. So the back 6 should be equally strong.
For me Costa and Fabregas also knocked out in the group stages will also start. Salah may start ahead of Willian, although he didn’t have many World Cup games. On the left it is Hazard or Schuerrle, and Hazard will almost definitely start even if he comes off after 70 minutes. He may go for Mikel if he’s resting World Cup players, but to play Matic and Mikel against a team destined for relegation seems odd. So it would be Ramires/Oscar to fill the other role, for 45/60 minutes till we’re winning. But I’d be beyond surprised if at least 8 or those players didn’t start.
If we don’t win the game, I’ll leave the site forever =P and ht/ft seems ridiculous odds to me, or -1 if you fancy. I just prefer ht/ft.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Jack I saw a guy from Chelsea staff talking after those two 45 minute friendlies you played saying that you would be resting some of the World Cup players due to lack of minutes since the tournament ended. Maybe the line up you suggest may have slight changes . I would still fully expect Jose to have enough to see of a well organised burnley team. But I always have visions of these games being tight and won late as it’s the feel good factor of the newly promoted team stokes up a positive atmosphere. For example when you beat Wigan with a late Hernan crespo strike . In that same manor I have a sneaky feeling Leicester will take a least a point if not all three against Everton as there always seems to be one newly promoted side pull off a great result think Fulham ,Blackpool etc

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

All opinions mate, hard to judge, I have a feeling City and Chelsea will blow the league away this season, and it may come down to who can get the points vs the other 4 (Arsenal, United, Liverpool and City/Chelsea.) As I said above, if at least 8 of that team aren’t named I’ll be very surprised. Maybe I was a little too ambitious, but I wouldn’t be too surprised if Courtois is fit to see everyone but Oscar/Willian named there. Of course there is the chance we’re keeping Moses for the first couple of games.

You’re right in what you’re saying about the newly promoted teams, I just feel at 1/3, the odds of us ht/ft are too good to ignore. To win to nil always scares me too much.

As soon as I get anything confirmed I’ll let you all know, just an earlybird tip.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Mate of course as I said previously to you I can’t see anyone but Chelsea taking the league title this season you seem strong and ready to do it this year . I just need 4th :-)

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Love Liverpool and hopefully you do, though I think you’ll be pipped to it by Arsenal/United :/.

Well in our last friendly against Fenerbache/Besiktas the latest World Cup Players:

Oscar played 70 minutes, Ramires,Willian and Schuerrle, 45 minutes, Hazard also got 70 minutes.

I will unfortunately have to back Ajax at 6/10 to beat my favourite Dutch side, Vitesse. Though over 2.5 is also worth a look considering the attacking nature of both sides.

Chelsea play Ferencvaros in a friendly tomorrow although it’s not yet available on William Hill. It starts at 7 or 7:45 in the UK depending on who you believe, so I should be able to give you team news between 6:15 and 7:15. I would expected a strong enough team to win, but mildly rotated especially in the attacking positions, so will have to see the odds first.

Morning guys, just catching up after a long day yesterday. I know I don’t post a lot of tips as I like to be sure but I do know my team. Out of Spurs 5 pre season games I have only got one wrong. I assure you know if you follow my Spurs tips through the season I will give you profit. Yes I will lose a few but if I’m really not sure I wont post.

    *FROM YESTERDAY*

last pre season game for Spurs today and I am feeling optimistic. Dont often get to The Lane anymore as cant justify a 400 mile round trip and the expense more than a couple of times a season but like the expectation of the fans at the annual Pre Season home game. I think we will win comfortably against a Schalke side who have had a poor pre season.

    Back:

    Spurs Ht/Ft 21/10 *WIN*
Spurs -1AH (No odds yet on 365 and no time to shop around) *VOID*

Have a good day, I will check in and see what the regulars are tipping when Im having my pre-match pint. Good luck with your bets and if your team is an action hope they get a positive result.

Lech 1st team goal to be scored before 61st minute looks good at 5/6 against Lechia Gdansk. They will want to cover up the shock Europa League defeat and they should be able to score before the 61st minute. In their last meeting, the game finished a home 2-1 win to Lechia. However I will wait for the Lech line up before placing the bet.

Also I looked at Parnu earlier in the week and got a bad feeling due to their opponents, I need to look again and figure out why!

Only a safe bet that can also be covered, nothing too inspired, but safe enough.

The following market is available – ‘Best Placed American’.

With one round left to go, Rickie Fowler tops the pile of USA golfers, currently sitting on -11 whilst Mickelson is one shot behind on -10.

Beyond that, Ryan Palmer is at -9, mainly through the nature of a great opening round (-6) and has basicaly plodded through the next two rounds (-1 & -2) so he doesn’t seem to pose much threat.

Fowler has posted -5 and -4 in his last two rounds, whilst Mickelson has posted -4 and -4, so they seem in good enough form to stay beyond Palmer. Steve Stricker is on -8 overall but does nothing spectacular so I can’t see him posing a threat to the market either.

Fowler and Mickelson are great finishers as shown by their records in majors (top 10 finishes for Fowler and numerous major wins for Mickelson) so I don’t expect them to drop down past Palmer and one of those two should take the ‘Top American’ market.

Rickie Fowler is best priced 2.62 (Stan James)
Phil Mickelson is best priced 3.5 (Coral & SkyBet)

Using a dutching calculator, I’m getting figures around the 48% yield amount (for those who don’t know, it basically means if you put £10 on the whole bet, you’re looking at £4.80 profit regardless of which one of Fowler and Mickelson wins) so it seems a decent proposition.

Your thoughts would be appreciated, just to make sure I haven’t overlooked anything.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

TommyTucker, having backed McIlroy and Fowler antepost I’m keeping a close eye on that leaderboard. What you say about the Americans is reasonable but I wouldn’t write off Palmer or Stricker so easily. Any golfer up there is capable of hitting a 65 or 66 in any round if they get it going.

    No football bets for today

Yesterday was strange with the banker win/win both losing and the 4 homes were let down by Preston.
I also had 1 HT/FT trixie that had all 6 lose.

However I had 1 HT/FT Trixie that won.
    M/Borough WW, Watford WW & Bradford D/W
All of the above from data collected over last season and the trick now is to see how to fine tune.

Small bets as first day of season but the trixies gave a very good profit given the odds and need to revisit the spreadsheet and see what can be learned – or just trial and error for next few weeks?

best of luck today for those having a punt

Feyenord over 1.5 team goals for me!

  125. The UHT 10 years ago

    Good morning, everybody!

Hope it was a good start for all yesterday, but I took a leaf out of Mr F’s book: small stakes till we see the lie of the land.

In the lower leagues that particularly interest me* – “Non-League”, which is levels five, six and seven of the English football pyramid, or the Conference Premier (level five, directly below League Two), the Conferences North and South (level six), and the Northern Premier League, the Southern Football League and the Isthmian League (level seven) – the close season can mean wholesale changes in club management structures and playing staff, so, I’m probably going to hold off for a couple of weeks to see how teams are shaping up before offering any views on the matches.

However, for anyone interested in Non-League excursions this season, my plan is to look to suggest a W-D-W NAP and NB each week. I’ll be aiming at odds-against (or at least 10/11 or better) on these, so, hopefully, one or two more interesting and profitable picks from all that homework. These will usually be singles, but I may throw in a double or two, depending on the week’s card. I’ll also be following the lead of my favourite jambo, Raal, who has offered something of a template in how best to frame an overs bet, and I’ll look to find some nice goals-related picks from these leagues each week as well if at all possible.

Away from Non-League, I’m going to continue with the Under 2.5 Club. That will usually be stats-based and could be from anywhere. I note that Fiddler has consistently and successfully posted in this area for some time now on the site, and it may be that we are the only members of the club meantime, but, if nothing else, at least that keeps the Under 2.5 Club name logical.

That being said, one other person on the site who posts Unders is Mr F himself, and he pretty much always gets them right. So, gentlemen, maybe it’s time to forget about wagers based on the excitement of watching goals flying in and sign up instead to the inexpressible misery of praying for the final whistle from kick-off.

Again, I think Raal’s double method is likely to be the best way to set up this kind of bet for maximum effectiveness of risk/strike-rate/payback.

As it happens, I have a pick today for the Under 2.5 Club:

    Anzhi v Dynamo SPB
    Russia Division 1 KO 5pm
Five games into the Division 1 season and a traditionally low-scoring league sees second-placed Anzhi play bottom club, Dynamo. Anzhi are P5 F6 A2. Dynamo are P5 F2 A5. Dynamo’s defence is joint fifth best (of 18). Their attack is second-worst. Meanwhile, Anzhi boast the meanest defence in the league, but only the 10th best attack. Anzhi have scored three goals at home in three home games and conceded none. Dynamo’s two away games have seen two conceded and one scored.

    Under 2.5 goals is 4/5.

    Guarani v Sao Caetano
    Brazil Serie C 11pm
Serie C is currently split into two equal strength sub-leagues of 10 teams for reasons that needn’t detain us, but Guarani are 8th and Sao Caetano are bottom in Group B. Guarani are P9 F7 A9. Sao are P9 F4 A10. 9 of Guarani’s last 10 games are U2.5, while the same is true of 8 of the last 10 for Sao Caetano.

    Under 2.5 is 11/20

That U2.5 double pays at 2.79

    . . .

*I need to stress that my interest is in the betting opportunities offered in Non-League, rather than the not-quite-so-beautiful game often played by its teams. The same is true of football matches with few goals. I only like them for betting on. I do live near London within the radius of many of the Non-League clubs I’m focusing on, but if my appetite for bad football or matches with not much goalmouth incident extended to wanting to actually watch it, I’d obviously want the crème de la crème, and would jump in the car most weekends and drive several hundred miles to catch my beloved Hibernian. ;-)

Good luck today, everybody and throughout the season!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

The UHT, has to be minimum stakes at this time of year. I prefer form to stats so for me it’s the toughest time but doesn’t mean we can’t land winners. Check in later and hopefully watch Rangers v Hearts on Sky.

Good luck to everyone today. Saturday was poor but not unexpected. Pity Clarky’s comments don’t go through because they crack me up sometimes. He reckons “it’s time for someone else to take over the site”. Well, Clarky, it’s not as easy as that. If anyone wants to “take over” they can contact admin who may or may not name their price. Either that or start up your own.

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      Mr F

Its easy. Just spend every waking hour analysing, thinking, mulling over and writing articles.

Does wonders for friendships and relationships too no doubt. ‘Clarky’ could handle it no bother.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Fitba Tips, that is the answer – tough though when you have a full-time job plus newspaper columns to write (plus kids who are off for the holidays). When this site started I was told I’d be expected to spend an hur a day on it – it takes more than that just to read the comments.

    Liverpool vs BVB

Adrian Ramos is priced up at 7/1 anytime goalscorer on paddy power, 2/1 everywhere else. 7/1 is a ridiculous price for a striker, he’s definitely starting as well. Don’t normally bet on friendlies but it’s got to be worth a small stake hasn’t it?

  144. BusinessmanNL 10 years ago

Maybe an interesting match, not available for me, but GL if you follow it:

    “Union Magdalena – Bogota FC » Union Magdalena (DNB-FT) @ 2 1/10
One more unit on my private pick ,so 6/10 on Union Magdalena!Asians scared to put odds on this one…Union Magdalena will go with full squad in this league game. Strong performance at home ,so far thisyear with 6-2-2 .Ambitions for top8 and place in the next phase. On the other hand Bogota was very poor in Apertura finished on 15th place and with weak record away from home 1-2-6 .For this trip to the sea ,they will miss their topdefender Hernandez 14/0 and important midfielder Diaz 18/0. Well ,Bogota have young squad ,4 of them u21 players .The squad is:Cesar Giraldo keeper 24 years 2/0 , Alejandro Velez 22 yers 16/0 ,Omer Escalante def 23 years 17/0 ,John Sandoval, def 30 years 3/0, Jonathan Garay midf 21 years 1/0 , Peter Zipacon midf 28 years 1/0 , Sebastian Saenz midf 21 years 0/0 ,Anderson Cano def 19 years 0/0 , Jorge Bocanegra midf 23 years 2/1 ,Cristian Dajome midf 20 years 19/5 and Mateo Gonzalez striker 21 years 2/0.You can see there are many players with small number of games ,so this squad for sure are not so good. Also Bogota come from high altitude(2640m) and long trip , and they will have big problems in Santa Marta ( located on the sea on 6m altitude). This is wrong odds ,Union Magdalena have better squad and big home advantage ,so real odds here are around 2.00 for home win and for DNB @1.40 max like last years. GL!”

I’ll also be on btts and over 2.5 in the Arsenal vs City game. 4 of the last 5 finals have gone over 3.5. With 7 of the last 10 going over 2.5.
It is surprising that there’s a lack of over 2.5 goals when these 2 meet up. But I imagine with it being more of a glorified friendly both teams will be looking to showcase their attacking prowess.

Some recognisable faces with the All Stars. Juventus will have too much. This will be closer than the other day. The only real value bet is over 4.5 match goals @5/6. The others are too skinny.

Took it when it went 11/10. Late goals but they all count.

Two German u19 games just starting – koln and Wolfsburg were top teams in their respective divisions last year. Wolfsburg had the best attack from any German u19 side while kiln were third best.

First game of the season but I think the sides they are playing are new to the division and over 1.5 heh is over evens in both games.

Gone for a double at 4.20

Afternoon guys Widnes Vikings v Castleford Tigers ko 3pm

The second semi final takes place at the Leigh Sports Village, for the right to face Leeds at Wembley. A sell out crowd is expected as both these famous old club play the biggest match for over two decades. Widnes haven’t been to Wembley for 21 years, whilst Castleford will look to go back to Wembley for the first time since 92.

A lot has been made of the three players who are missing for the Tigers, Top try scorer Carney, Millington and Hauraki all out. Widnes on the other hand have a fully fit squad to choose from.

The heavy rain that is forecast would makes this game one for the forwards, whoever dominates in the middle of the park will probably come out on top. For me Castleford have the better pack with Gareth Carvell, Lee Jewitt and in particular Craig Huby. I just fancy the Tigers class to show through in the end and I will be on them to score over 3.5 tries 11/10 Paddy Power. The Tigers have won both meetings this season 40-20 & 34-22 so can only think the bad weather is the reason for the low line set.

In the try scorer market I like the look of centre Michael Shenton to score. He is having the best season of his career with 16 tries in 22 games so far, and scored three tries in the two games this season, he is 2/1 at Ladbrokes.

In the specials market Widnes stand off Kevin Brown is the 4/1 favourite for the man of the match, however I like Castleford’s Marc Sneyd. The conditions are going to play a part and if the tigers dominate up front then Sneyd kicking game is going to be crucial. At 10/1 Skybet he looks worth a small wager. The man of the match is as nominated by the BBC.

    MAIN BETS

    CASTLEFORD O3.5 TRIES 11/10
    SHENTON TO SCORE 2/1

    SPECIALS MARKET SMALL STAKES

SNEYD TO BE NAMED MAN OF THE MATCH 10/1

Good luck if your having a bet

Dont know if anyone interested in GAA Hurling but KILKENNY V LIMERICK semi final today -> Kilkenny to win.

Also Kilkenny to score over 26.5 points is 11/10 on Paddy Power.

Or for those more cautious :) -> Margin of vitory ‘either team to win by 1 to 4 or draw’ is at evens on PaddyPower.

  175. Duncan Poundcake 10 years ago

Hearts are worse than Rangers ,believe it or not?

  176. thechief 10 years ago

    Community shield KO 3pm

The annual curtain raiser before the big kick off and it usually leans to goals and this should be no different. Both these sides have been scoring for fun in preseason and I think it can continue today. I believe Man City will win so will be on the 7/5 at William Hill. Over 2.5 match goals is 8/11 Stan James.

In the goal scorer market, I am on someone I tipped during preseason and it is City’s forgotten man Stevan Jovetic, he has been in fine form in preseason and starts today. He is 2/1 Titanbet.

MAN CITY TO BEAT ARSENAL 7/5
    OVER 2.5 MATCH GOALS 8/11
    JOVETIC TO SCORE 2/1

Good luck if your having a bet

  183. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Hearts 3-2 up on corners but still 0-0 so BTTS looking unlikely, over 4.5 Hearts corners should come in easily enough at 11/10 though

  184. raaljacas phone 10 years ago

Poor first half from Hearts. Nothing to fear but we are not attacking them enough. Need to go for it as they are there for the taking. Anybody on us Double Chance at 6/5 etc can back Rangers to win at 21/20 for a very small guaranteed profit. We can only beat ourselves with some of the sloppy passing at the back. Our bench is all younger pacey players that Neilson has the option of bringing on mid second half if still level. I am sticking with the double chance.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, just back in so will watch the second half. Backed the draw in the end so here’s hoping.

  185. Ad 10 years ago

I can see Gael clichy being given the run around if he is playing at right back. Hasn’t got a right foot on him and he is capable of fluffing his lines even on his good side. I’m hoping sanchez runs at him. I think Ramsey could have a big game here, looked dangerous in pre season. Sanchez and Ramsey goalscorer markets: first scorer 8/1, 12/1 and anytime 12/5, 4/1 with ladbrokes

  186. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Hearts +1 corner handicap 8/13, lead by 1 at HT so as tgey don’t get beat by 2 corners in 2nd half bets a winner

Raal, gotta say when it comes to Scottish football your knowledge is unsurpassed. On what’s been a dodgy weekend for most you put up a BTTS and championed the Hearts double chance all week and both came up, winning myself and many on here a very decent profit as other tips on the Scottish leagues fall by the wayside. Much respect for the work you put in and for sharing on here to make us all money :-)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Matty p, most non-Rangers fans expected Hearts to get something. On that evidence Rangers will struggle to win the league but I assumne they’ll get better.

Andy got on your Bluewings this morning thanks. Didn’t fancy the Bratislava one as in play stats didn’t look great, gutted now :-) Tempted with Lyon but already have them in Mr F’s double anyway.

  285. Greg Browning 10 years ago

Gents, I think I’ve correctly posted Parnu on 11 or 12 consecutive occasions but for some reason there is something telling me to leave today’s match! I’ll probably regret it but by the laws of averages they are due a low scoring game + Kaju have seen very few matches over 3.5 goals!

I’m going for no bet – I was drinking heavily last night so that could be influencing my decision! Haha

  286. Ritchie 10 years ago

Salzburg 8-0 up-How did we miss it lads??

    • kevin 10 years ago

i saw it and goaline was about 3.5 and rubbish odds so i thought i’ll wait a bit, didn’t work out this time.
but hearts 4/1 bet won so i happy.

    • kevin 10 years ago

shows you how good salzburg are when they don’t get a red card.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Ritchie, Red Bull were in my head but with my focus on the UK games I forgot to write it up.

  287. Johnny J 10 years ago

my -2 salzburg looks laughable now thanks city ya muppets

    single -3 from now on

  288. raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers for all the posts, texts and mails guys and girls. Always proud to be Hearts but right now I just cannot stop smiling, even more so with the thousands of pounds we just hammered the bookies for yet again. Gut feeling was we would not lose and backed that accordingly with a smaller bet on the win and even went -1 at 12/1 but we spared them that. We will win this league simply because we are the best footballing side in it and have a management team and the majority of players who are Hearts through and through. First half was poor but Neilson seemed to wake them up to see what I saw, Rangers are finished, a spent force and we played some great football in the second half by keeping the ball on the ground. Really happy so many listened to me going on about the double chance and even though the money came for Rangers and all Hearts odds were odds against we called it correct yet again ;) Never be blinded by a name when you are betting, go with your gut feeling and back it accordingly.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

      Raal buzzing mate superb

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Saw your post Danny and top stuff mate. I can tip all day long but you all need the balls to back them with hard cash.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, as you know I went with the double chance and wrote it up in yesterday’s Record but your confidence in Hearts was incredible and fans usually know their team best. In hindsight I’d have taken Hearts not to lose as the Super Single – same price as Aberdeen – but would have been accused of copying you. Well done to Racing Post for tipping Hearts today and Jambos fan Ace Venturer also backed them with hard cash as he waits for Rory McIlroy to make it a great weekend for him.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

He will be a happy man Mr F with or without Rory! A lot of the confidence is owed to Hibs for showing Rangers were vulnerable in the midweek game but first 45 minutes were really frustrating as we could all see Rangers were poor but the players didn’t seem to. Second half was just brilliant to watch as we kept the ball down and moved it around. Just such a great feeling to be a Hearts supporter right now and a good few mates and family no longer with us would be delighted to see where our club is at this present time compared to what we went through last few years.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, can’t wait for the banter next week. Right, I’m outta here – busy night on the sports desk. Wonder what the Rangers-Hearts headlines will be.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Here’s a headline you can use mr f. Hearts break rangers as they sow the seeds for a title push :-)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Mr F, I have posted many tips after you already had them up so never shy away from tipping the Hearts!

  318. mattr 10 years ago

Surprised by how poorly Norwich performed, no urgency (belief?) at 1-0 down albeit down to 10 men. Another performance or two like that and Adams will be hiding from Delia…

  319. Rowen 10 years ago

Raal are you serious with the amount of confidence on Hearts next week? Are you as confident about it as the Anthony Joshua bets stakes-wise?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

More confident on beating Hibs now than I was on taking something from Ibrox. Trust me, 1. We will win and 2. That price will not last Rowen mate.

  356. Chip 10 years ago

    ———–

A little late and a bit short priced but we did have a **WINNER** :)

    Colo Colo tonite o/2.5 v ohiggins 7/10

    thoughts?

    • BusinessmanNL 10 years ago

I’m on Colo Colo as well and maybe Colo -1, but maybe it’s better if I provide you a preview, GL with your bets.
      —————————————————————————
      TEAM NEWS

With the departure of Jose Pedro Fuenzalida to Boca Juniors, manager Hector Tapia was forced to make a change in tactics and personnel. The new look Colo Colo saw them play with two out and out strikers rather than the usual three forwards with Esteban Paredes being central. Against Huachipato it worked well for with forward Juan Delgado netting on his return to the side. It is likely Tapia will stick with this side for the visit of O’Higgins.
O’Higgins are kicking themselves for letting a two-goal advantage slip at the weekend at home to Universidad de Concepcion. Manager Facundo Sava will possibly look at making changes in defence. They will be without right attacking midfielder Luis Pedro Figueroa who was sent off last week. Sebastian Cespedes or the versatile Damian Lizio are his most likely replacements. New signing Jorge Carranza may start in goal ahead of Roberto Gonzalez.

      Colo Colo
      Suspended: None
      Doubtful: None
      Injured/unavailable: None

      O’Higgins
      Suspended: Luis Pedro Figueroa
      Doubtful: None
      Injured/unavailable: Pablo Calandria (knee)

      MATCH PREVIEW

Colo Colo have yet to reach the performance levels of their Clausura campaign but they do remain unbeaten after three games, two of them tricky away ties that they managed to claim four points from, taking them to seven points in total. They also scored six goals in three games whilst only conceding two.
O’Higgins have had a mixed start to the season with one win, one defeat and then one draw. The transition from the successful Eduardo Berizzo era was always going to be hard and so far they have especially struggled in defence where they are missing the sold duo of Benjamin Vidal and goalkeeper Paulo Garces. They have won their only away fixture of the season so far, a 2-1 win with ten men in La Calera, and got one point from home games against Universidad de Chile and Universidad de Concepcion after that.
Colo Colo will win this comfortably especially with O’Higgins missing their two best players.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Craig, I was just reading it online mate. He will blame everybody except himself, he is the worst manager in their history but will not leave and can’t be sacked. £850,000 a year to win the second division? The man is a clown.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Loved seeing Nicky Law telling the Rangers support to f*ck off after he scored! All is not well at Ibrox :)

    • robert miller 10 years ago

raal . possibly he may be the worst manager ever … but a clown??? would love to hear the reply if he said to you come round to my place for dinner and we will get the medals out…. btw.. I,m not a bluenose…. see things from a training perspective not from a spectator point of view………

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

robert, my opinion of him being a clown is based on the fact he is never to blame for anything and he even used the opening of the Sandy Jardine Stand as an excuse for adding a little bit more pressure to the game.

Ral am glad you an punters won money the day on the game. You’s looked decent second half. Calm down mate rangers will come good an win the league by about 10 points. How will your young guns handle middle of winter away nights at 7.45. A can c why your so enthusiastic about your team even though it’s not rangers of the past its still a big scalp for any team in Scotland apart from Celtic to come to ibrox an win. Look forward to the banter over the course of the season mate

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers Tony. Be some good matches to come mate :)

  378. Danny T 10 years ago

Craig yes one shot on target I think all game Norwich were woeful

  379. Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Chelsea: Cech, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Luis, Mikel, Ramires, Schuerrle, Willian, Torres, Drogba.

Only option I have currently is Chelsea ht/ft which I’ll take. But I’d perhaps take to win both halves if it were available

  380. PeteT 10 years ago

@DannyT – woeful would have been an improvement. But Norwich have a reputation of bad first games in the season – I still remember the 7-1 thrashing we got on the opening day of the season a few years ago (and went on to win the league).

    Maybe a good omen????

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Pete mate I think it’s 12 years since an opening day win or something . I full expect a playoff place for Norwich but today was poor and my grandad was a massive canary god rest his soul

    • PeteT 10 years ago

That sounds right Danny – although it feels longer than 12 years to me!

The key this year is we need to make Carrow Road a fortress like we did a few years ago. Still not sure on the manager but he’s done great work in other parts of the club – we do need to do better to get a play off place (which is a bare minimum expectation for a club like Norwich).

I hope we can make a season of it – at least we’re sorted financially – much better than 12 years ago where we had all our debt and no decent plan to sort things out.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Norwich look at the minute that they are going to struggle with the same problem as last year lack of goals. If they managed to grab a proven championship goal scorer like a Kevin Doyle Jordan Rhodes type player then that should be enough for Norwich to bounce straight back up

  381. Lostboy 10 years ago

Is Falcao not in the squad tonight?

Falcao maybe sub trying to find out. There is a pic on their twitter showing him getting off the coach with his bag.

    Monaco & Benfica double?
    Any tips or info

  387. craigyboy 10 years ago

I’d have taken the draw today but when the red card was shown it was ours for the taking. Norwich were abysmal and the majority of teams we faced last year in League One tested our defence more than Delia’s darlings today. For once Norwich brought a decent following and I feel sorry them after that showing. They can only improve but for me Wolves could be dark horses this year. Rumours are rife that Chris Wood is signing. Get another defender in and I think we could challenge1 Wolves ay we! :)

    Internacional v Gremio KO 8pm

The hosts have been excellent at home winning 6 of their opening 7 – 11/10 for the home wins looks
Decent value! Interestingly the last 7 meetings between these two has seen both teams score with 5 of those over 2.5 goals! Not usually one for putting all my eggs in one baskets but going to have some small singles in this match!

Safe to say I think we will be seeing Falcao very soon , Monaco looking terrible at the minute !

  410. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

Raal, you forgot to add 10% to Mr McCoist’s salary.

All contracts on the playing side are upwardly only contracts, meaning that they are entitled to a 10% pay rise each summer. Non performance related. Meaning that the club that McCoist manages now has 10% higher player wage expenditure before signing any players.

Therefore Lee Mcculloch received a pay rise of £1,500 this season.

The board can’t afford to sack McCoist, it would cost too much.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Won’t need to Blancos as I reckon they will go into administration and that will see McCoist leave.

  501. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Jirge Wilstermann RT9 small stake at 7/4. 5-0 up on 53 mins and will go on RT7 if they don’t get another corner before 65-70 mins.

  502. Dean 10 years ago

Boom 3-1! just before half time, get in Vitoria! Now hoping for goals in the San Marcos game.

  503. BusinessmanNL 10 years ago

Maybe an interesting match, not available for me, but GL if you follow it:

Jorge Wilstermann game not beeb updating stats so don’t know what’s happening pkus they’ve taken corners markets away

  508. Danny T 10 years ago

Craig what do you need to know mate I will try to find out for you ?

  509. Danny T 10 years ago

Wilsterman 9-1 on corners score still 2-2

  510. Danny T 10 years ago

10 now Craig well done mate

  511. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Gutted Bet365 never kept the corners markets up, double corners on 82 & 90 mins for Jorge Wilstermann but 7/4 winner on RT9 so can’t complain :)

  512. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Tony- sorry posting in off phone now so a bit late to see. Yes Seattle should have enough quality to win just went for the safer option with team goals. GL mate. :-)

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Shaun I backed benfica to win on pens just before extra time I didn’t post as I wasn’t putting much on myself and I didn’t want anyone lumping on incase it went badly. I have had a good day thanks to raals confidence in the jambos and one or two others along the way today. So I have put 50% of my benfica profit on to your treble for tonight so the very best of luck mate and les hope for some late night profit. Well done Craig corners did you well there mate shame you couldn’t get on to squeeze a bit more profit out but a winner is a winner :-)

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Nice one Danny with Benfica mate. Thanks for pointing some stats out on the Seattle match. Hopefully the treble gets that far so hopefully we can cover if needs be. Cheers and GL to you. :-)

  513. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Sorry Danny, I was flicking through 365 and Betvictor plus another couple bookies trying to get live stats but must be problems getting it live cos BV kept cutting out too, only got RT9 on but was wanting RT7 when it went around evens but 365 took them away, 7/4 for RT9 and they had at least 5 from 82 mins onwards.

  514. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Tom- Houston are leaking a lot of goals away from home. Seattle have been pretty poor last couple of games but were up against better opposition. So id expect a home win but nothings ever too predictable in MLS!!

  515. 1plus2 10 years ago

    US Major League 01:00

Vancouver Whitecaps – Sporting Kansas City over2.5 goals 11/10 william hills.

Another favorable overs game here with goals expected. :-)

  516. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Madji- wouldnt put you off that double both are in good form.

  517. Tonys Tip's 10 years ago

Thanks Shaun i was just reading about the latest news and it is still unsure whether Marshall and Traore will be playing :/

    Any news on that ?

And do you think team goals is safer ? Im worried that it could be low scoring . But then again houston have conceded atleast 2 goals on all 5 last away games.

I cant find that goal market though on ladbrokes :/

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Tony if you are unsure mate the best bet might be to avoid it. I dont go for straight wins very often after getting burned in the past. Wont get to my desk for another hour or more so cant really look at the Marshall + Troare situation yet. The team goals is based on Seattles good record at home this season barring LA defeat. Houstons away record where they have conceded a lot recently. Please note though Seattle have been poor the last couple of games. Sorry i couldnt help more at this time mate.

  518. Harpreet 10 years ago

Mr fix it. …I’m on fowler to win in :-)

  519. xA 10 years ago

Not to put anyone off Shaun’s MLS tips, but looking at the h2h got Seattle, Seattle have scored over 1.5 goals in 2/7 of the last h2h’s

I don’t know anything about their current form though

  520. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Ant- wouldnt put anyone off WP mate his record speaks for itself.

  521. Danny T 10 years ago

Seattle have score over 1.5goals twice in the last 5 games played at home against Houston . However recent Seattle form has seen them score over 1.5 goals in 8 of their last 10 home games in all competitions . If the first 2 parts of Shaun’s treble comes in then you can cover by backing Seattle under 1.5 goals at 11/8. So provided the first 2 parts come in there should be no reason to bank some money :-)

  522. cooldude 10 years ago

shaun, just seen bradley wright phillips goal against Bayern munich. the guy is almost premier league material

    • bad jasper 10 years ago

he is pants, that is why he is playing in the ‘used to be good’ benefit league in the states

    • cooldude 10 years ago

bad jasper, thats your opinion, but Im giving you mine and I believe he is too good a player to be stuck in MLS

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Henry appears key to how well wright Phillips is playing Henry’s assists are fantastic his passing has been phenomenal and it helps a striker when you get that level of service

    • bad jasper 10 years ago

im too good for the mls, and I am 50 and not played for 13 years, and only played sunday league when I did.

they can throw x ammount of dough at it, but usa people don’t get footy, never have , never will.

they only have has beens who go there for a quick buck, and not beens who didn’t make the grade in their countries.

for gods sake the commentator earlier described a volley as a ‘flying drop kick’
      jeez……..

    • cooldude 10 years ago

bad jasper, I can think of a few premier league players who should be playing there :)

    • Hank 10 years ago

Michael Bradley for starters. Could play in the English Premier League no problem.

    • PA 10 years ago

Cooldude he had his chance and was not good enough, could not follow in his brothers footsteps

    • cooldude 10 years ago

PA, players dont always cut it at their first attempt and I can think of numerous examples. The guy is a late bloomer.

    • bad jasper 10 years ago

he is playing against dross, that is why he looks good.
Thierry henry was finished years ago as a top line player, yet I gather he plays in the same team.
these are 2 examples of what I mean.
      1. henry, a washed up former great, who has gone to pasture there
      2. Phillips, a nothing player who exists on his family name, and not his own ability, and is there because its the best money he can get for his limited ability.

  523. Danny T 10 years ago

Hey dudes did you manage to get on the jambos today mate ?
