THREE winning Super Singles in a row have put a better shine on the monthly total.
I've done well on the Scottish games this week – tipping Motherwell and Ross County at good prices on Tuesday and backing Dundee to end their derby drought against Dundee United last night.
Dundee were my Super Single in the Daily Record at just under 2-1 but on the site I was more cautious and went with Hearts -2 AH and a 3-0 win against Alloa for the champions did the business.
On Thursday I'm putting my faith in another Scottish side and for the first time in a while it's Rangers who carry my money. They're making decent progress under Stuart McCall with three wins in a row including back-to-back successes over Hibs and Hearts.
McCall has his side battling for everything and players know what they're being asked to do. A trip to Queen of the South would have filled previous sides with fear but the new boss will be confident of picking up three points.
Queens won 1-0 at Hibs at the weekend to revive their play-off hopes and beat Rangers 2-0 at Palmerston earlier in the season but have lost twice at Ibrox. Rangers are a best 20-21 at boylesports and if they play like they did against Hearts at the weekend – and keep 11 men on the park – they should win.
There are three games in La Liga – Athletic Bilbao v Valencia, Villarreal v Espanyol and Elche v Getafe – and none look easy to call.
For now my only Thursday tip is Rangers but if I get a chance to research the Spanish games in the morning – and the wi-fi at Heathrow isn't playing up – I'll do so. And if there's wi fi on American Airlines flights I'll look at Friday's games too.
I'm heading away today and will be at Augusta at the weekend so if you're watching I'll give you a wave. My Saturday football tips are done and will be posted as normal on Friday night – apart from that Scott will look after the site as best as he can.

Excellent tip yesterday with Dundee, I actually put them on with my riskier selections & made a tidy profit.
My heavy stakes faves pulled through as I kept to my own guns & although I watched the Barca game mostly, I enjoyed the Dundee game, and far more than screaming at Real Madrid to sort there game out ha.
Looks like I’ll be taking a punt on Rangers, but my only tip so far would be to take Spartak Moscow away at Arsenal Tula.
Spartak won at home 2-0 in November, and the stats pile heavily in there favour. With Tula having a terrible home record, paired with scoring just 13 goals in 21 games.
Spartak have scored 13 more goals & conceded 9 less than Tula, have better form in the last 8 games, and have an above average away record compared to there league standing.
I’ve not had a good look to see what games are worth a gamble yet, so I can’t say anything else for now. However a risky double with Rangers & Spartak Moscow gives a little better than 2/1, for the moment. Will see what my next few hours of scouting brings up or other guys on here bring to my attention hehe :)

To be honest, I wouldn’t bet on the Iraklis vs Xanthi game, nothing to favour in my eyes.
I know Xanthi are just above mid table in the Greek super league, with Iraklis top of the league below them. But Xanthi have lost the last two away games & have nothing much to show on previous results against Iraklis.
So from a stats perspective I’d avoid betting on the game personally, and cup form puts no distance to favour either team also. Too close to call with any certainty even from the group stage of the cup. I also couldn’t hazard a goals bet without hitting in the dark at it, so for me it’s a no bet.
If anything, I’d bet on Xanthi to score first, otherwise it’s a no go for me.

Over the past few weeks I have been following this team very closely. They are flying high in 1st in their league and consistently turn out great performances, particulary at home where there last five home games have been covered by the -1 asian handicap, excluding a 1-1 draw with Horsens back in November of last year. They are running away with the league at the moment and have a healthy goal difference and usually win at home and don’t concede so the 2-0 scoreline could be an option here. Viborg did brilliantly to cme back from 1-0 down away at the weekend to lowly Frederica in the league and i think just shows the strength of character that they have in the team. At home though they are a different class usually winning 2-0 or 3-0 and i think we could see another repeat here today.
4th place Vendsyssel travel to Viborg this afternoon knowing they have a tough afternoon containing the league leaders, it’s a tough place to go for any team in the division. Vendsyssel have not won their past 5 league games both home and away and are in bad form at the moment.

Point well made Hampy, the outright win looks a safe bet in my opinion but the value lies with the Handicap. Vendyssel have dropped right out of contention to get promoted as they were 2nd for a long time but their form is dire at the moment. I fully agree with you Mattr that this could very well be a low scoring game but Viborg have won 3 out of the last 4 matches against Vendyssel at home by a 2 goal difference or more.
It could go either of three ways. Viborg outright win, Viborg & under 2.5 goals which would be a decent bet at 9/5 William Hill or Viborg -1 at 8/5 William Hill.

Looking for some clarifiction on the Barca v Almeria match last night. I had Almeria to get most booking points and at full time it was 1 booking apiece. I then looked later on the BBC and it had 1 booking for Barca but 3 for Almeria but flashscore still had 1 each so I assumed the BBC had got it wrong. I checked Flashscore again this morning and they to now have 3 to Almeria and the 1 to Barca with the players booked specified. I can only assume the referee played advantage after the foul and then went back to book them afterwards, bookings which was not on cam or seen initially by the bookies?
MrF, any ideas? I placed the bet in shop so want to be certain ofmy standpoint before I go in. The bet was placed with Ladbrokes.

Hoping for MrF to check in and give an official line of what happened. tiptopterry its unlikely as it means that the boys at the bottom are going to need to get results to put the pressure on West Brom. A defeat to Leicester on Saturday for Albion and they could find a major collapse on their hands. The other factor to consider is with West Brom playing a lot of the big guns a couple of heavy defeats might really damage their goal difference. Its definitely worth throwing a couple of quid at it.

As good as Bilbao have been lately, swept aside by Sevilla last week (2-0) and Valencia need the win more to catch Atletico after slipping up, Bilbao’s wins are hardly convincing on paper either, prior to the Sevilla game they only managed a 2-1 against Almeria at home, a side who have lost 6 out of the last 7 away games. Valencia are strong away, haven’t lost away since the Malaga game at the start of February and recently held Atletico to a draw on their turf. My only worry is that Bilbao have the extra days rest but there’s enough there to convince me Valencia won’t lose.
If this fails to come in hopefully it’s a 2-1 Bilbao to bring in the BTTS & over 2.5 so I pray it’s not a Bilbao to nil!

Well after the event but anyone who backed Rangers did so on the back of a win against Hibs who, I warned, bottle these games, a win against Cowdenbeath where it was 1-1 after 83 min and Sundays win over Hearts who I said on here were a disgrace, we didn’t try a leg and still only lost 2-1. Rangers are a very poor side who looked a bit better under McCall but could not have been any worse. Do not touch either them or Hibs for the rest of the season.

Yes mate. Look at Barcelonas away form. Conceding left right and centre. Not two total match goals in 4 games. Like I said. Libertad had beaten Estudiantes and Nacional at home and Barcelona had conceded twice against the same sides. Don’t worry, I wasn’t throwing darts at it…

Jordan- I think you’ve got lost in this Liverpool haze. I’m not the least bit bothered by it, really. As for the stats we could debate until the cows come home. In truth there’s probably not a right or wrong answer.
Stats can be seen and used differently from one person to the next. One good stat might be seen as a bad stat in somebody else’s eyes. You only have to pick up a paper to see see how they twist stats for their advantage or to show someone in a good or bad light.
Anyways I’m sure we will pick this up another day…

Every bet I place I check if they’ve scored at home/away, how many they’ve scored, the opposition they were against, and how many they’ve conceded, and then determine if the bet is viable. The same as Greg, Raal or anybody else that researches goals I imagine. I’m baffled…
