IT was a glory night for Man City but a disaster for anyone who backed PSG.

City deserve their place in the Champions League semi-finals after a 1-0 home win but how bad were the French superstars?

Maybe no one told them away goals count double. PSG beat two of my bets including a Super Single but the second one was void as Falkirk produced a great escape to draw with Hibs from 2-0 down after 87 minutes with 10 men.

If it was a great night for Man City and Falkirk it was equally good for Greg Browning who had a full house of winners on his goals tips – including his trademark late goal. This time it came at the Etihad.

Wednesday is dominated by four games – the Champions League ties between Atletico Madrid v Barcelona and Benfica v Bayern Munich, the FA Cup replay between West Ham and Man United and Premier League clash at Crystal Palace where Everton are the visitors.

Although if you're a Turk I'd imagine Galatasaray v Fenerbahce will catch some of the attention – both are likely to score there and if you can get a decent price on total bookings points take it but I don't see one.

I've posted a separate Champions League preview but my first tip is a Super Single on West Ham – and Jordan is advising the Hammers not to lose – 4-9 at GentingBet – although he won't be putting up any bets tonight.

United boss Louis van Gaal admits he’s scared of Andy Carroll – and has every right to be. The big hitman destroyed Arsenal with a quickfire hat-trick and Man United’s defence will be shaking in their boots tonight.

Van Gaal's men return to London three days after being turned over 3-0 by Spurs in the league and face an FA Cup exit at West Ham.

The Hammers are 8-5 at GentingBet. United are marginally bigger at 7-4 while a draw pays 23-10 at bet365.

One concern is the h2h with United unbeaten in 11 including two draws this season. Carroll is 7-1 at McBookie to score first and a tempting 11-4 to net at any time. An alternative is deadball expert Dimitri Payet who is 15-2 and 14-5 respectively.

There's nothing much I like tonight – cards again should be plentiful in Madrid but bookies know it and are giving nothing away.

So apart from my Super Single I'm doing a double on Carroll to score and both to score in the Atletico-Barcelona game.

    My Old Message (20 March)
INFO : Galatasaray – Fenerbahce derby
It will be a tough match in a very difficult environment. 2 Terrorist attacks occurred within 1 week (Ankara and Istanbul). Everyone wants a postponement of the match but explanation from the authorities has not come yet. Most important is Galatasaray striker Umut Bulut loses father in Ankara car bombing. Umut had been attracting criticism from Galatasaray fans for his lack of goals this season and his father had come to the game to offer moral support. Galatasaray football team players and administrators went to Kayseri on Tuesday to attend funeral ceremony, to be held for Umut Bulut’s father Kemal Bulut.
I want to continue with these words: “‘Either we win as a team or we lose as individuals’” . Last Champion Galatasaray going very badly this season (39pts, 5th place). They failed to be the team this year. Galatasaray certainly need to qualify UEFA this year for finish their FFP (Financial Fair Play) penalty. Last Mathces between Galatasaray – Fenerbahce on Turk Telekom Arena:
    Galatasaray 2-1 Fenerbahçe
    Galatasaray 1-0 Fenerbahçe
    Galatasaray 0-0 Fenerbahçe
    Galatasaray 2-1 Fenerbahçe
    Galatasaray 3-2 Fenerbahçe
Odds are so good for Galatasaray win (3.20-3.50 = 5/2 On Coral) I’ll play Galatasaray wins. U can take Galatasaray Double Chance.
    Gl All…
    ————————————-
I wrote this info 20 days ago. Let’s see team’s matches within 20 days. Galatasaray lose 4-3 to Eskişehirspor (one of the worst team in turkey -17th in league-) and draw with Rizespor (14th). Galatasaray playing very very very very very bad. They collect only 10 points in last 10 games…
Fenerbahce dropped 4 points in last two games and didnt look good (Lose to Konyaspor and Draw with Osmanlispor) Derby is the most important game for this season for Galatasaray as they don’t want to see Fenerbahce as champions. if Fener wins the title they’ll go CL Groups next season. And they’ll take 4th star (Galatasaray won 4th star last year) and generate huge revenues from kit sales and CL marketing pool.
On the other hand, Beşiktaş on 1st place with 66 points in 28 match, and Fenerbahce on 2nd with 60 Points in 27 match. If Fenerbahce lose today Besiktas’ll be champions (%90 :) ) Beşiktaş finally playing on their new Stadium Vodafone Arena and they’re stronger than before.
Anyway, You can’t imagine what would happen if Galatasaray lose this game. Fans’ll burn stadium and training facilities :D As a Galatasaray fan i dont bet. This game is too difficult to predict. My heart says Galatasaray win but the facts are not. I think BTTS is safe for this match.
    Gl All.

If that’s the case why not tip all of them in a treble rather than just the single,it still won so it doesn’t matter whether u decided to add more teams or not after u posted, for me I bet what I tip&dont add more teams or I would post it,anyway well done

Initial thought for today is agreement with Mr F on West Ham, though probably will go with them Double Chance as am being a bit conservative as I look to recoup losses.

Couple of Libertadores games I like goals in that I’ll post later.

And have been on Jordan’s Barca/Dortmund to qualify bet so hoping leg one lands tonight

    ?

    • maccathered 8 years ago

Just a heads up before the liverpool v dortmund game,i know jordans a great tipster and i don’t want to slate his pick or anything like that but it is risky taking dortmund to qualify let me explain,Jurgen klopp is one smart manager he knows how his former team roll and they struggled to create chances in dortmund, liverpool were excellent and had the better chances and left with an away goal, now liverpool are this years top scorers in the premier league even affording to leave benteke out which means the players are fighting for their places every game which means only one thing players perform better and klopp knows this, infront of a packed anfield crowd liverpool certainly have the edge in this tie for me no value on dortmund and its a risky bet, dortmund have not been great in their last few games and liverpool shrugged stoke of with some ease.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

maccathered, Jordan’s a brave man making the call because I can’t pick a winner.
For me it could go either way but I wouldn’t criticise anyone’s tip.

    • shaky 8 years ago

I wouldn’t be getting carried away with Liverpool’s win over Stoke. Was their first win in 5 games. This season they seem equally likely to follow a good result with a bad one. Dortmund have won 11 of their last 13 away games. I think they will do enough to get through.

    • maccathered 8 years ago

I go to most games mate liverpool have turned a corner under klopp you wait whilst next season when klopp has brought his own players in,liverpool matched dortmund last week, not saying dortmund will not win because that would be foolish but just saying it could go either way,i am not criticising anyones tip just a bit of input.also with liverpool now learning how to score goals and they should score against dortmund especially at home.

  10. maccathered 8 years ago

I like mr f super single and the way man utd are playing its hard to see man utd scoring as they are finding it difficult in front of goal, now the odds suggest a draw but i am not getting involved in the wdw market. What i do like is a certain goalscorer and thats lanzini for west ham he has the knack of scoring and being in the right place at the right time and with his trickery can notch one tonight,he scored a perfectly good goal against arsenal only for it to be ruled out for offside which was the wrong decision.my bet lanzini to score anytime for west ham @ 11/4 good luck all.

Alan Pardew believes Crystal Palace will avoid relegation if they secure victory tonight, and I completely agree. Palace’s attacking style has led to them winning at least 6 corners in 12/17 home matches, including each of their last 4.

Everton away matches see plenty of corners, and they have conceded at least 6 in 10/15, including 5 of their last 6.

Palace managed to gain 6 corners in the reverse fixture.

    ___________________________

With just 3 winning accas from 12 I am looking for my first back to back winners but not too hopeful on what is a very poor card. Oliveriense are already relegated but their freefall continues losing 10 of their last 11. Gil Vicente should take the victory but their form is poor too and their bid to bounce straight back up long gone. Basel should also win at Lugano who have conceded 13 goals in the last 2 matches. Boleslav have a 1:0 advantage going into the second leg of their MOL cup tie but they will need that away to league leaders Plzen. The home side are better and stronger at home so I expect them to take the win at least on the night.

Best of luck with your bets today.

West Ham vs Man Utd – West Ham over 1.5 TG’s and over 5.0 FH Asian corners 4.38/1 **NAP**

This match is happening at just the wrong time for Man Utd with revelations of player revolts following supposed criticism of Rashford & Rojo from LVG after sundays disastrous 3-0 loss at Spurs . Also it was revealed yesterday that since the start of the season United’s value on the stock exchange had fallen by £412m or to put it another way by almost a billion pounds since LVG’s reign began in 2014! These off the field issues cannot be helping things going into tonight’s tie.

West Ham are very cabable of notching 2+ here. Andy Carrol is a man on a mission who will be trying his best to get on that plane to Euro 2016 and as Bilic says is probably the best header of a ball in the world. Any free kicks in or around the box will be dangerous given what Payet can do and in general their fast attacking play supported by the likes of Cresswell and Lanzini appears to be quite difficult for most teams to contain this season. Man Utd have conceded two or more away goals on twelve occasions this season which is poor for a club of their stature and with West Ham at the peak of their powers, in a competion which Bilic greatly respects and has taken seriously from the outset, that stat should be increased.

The first quarter final match saw a total of twelve corner kicks awarded, a majority of which were for Man Utd as you’d probably expect with them being the home team in what could’ve been a one off match. Today the situation will be entirely different with both teams needing to go for it to progress so there could be a lot of defensive blocks and saves that lead to corners. Most of the total corners should arrive in the first half before tactical changes are employed at the interval so the over 5.0 Asian line is a good fit with that added bit of insurance included.

    Good luck all

    • leighrg 8 years ago

This is going to be a close match I think so im going for a bit of value
      West Ham win 1-0 = 7/1
      West Ham win 2-1 = 17/2
      Good luck all

    • bullseye 8 years ago

I’d be quite suprised if United progressed, just can’t see it happening. They unfairly rely on Martial and Mata too much and its just that overall negative possesion style of play thats not doing them any favours really. Even in the CL when they needed to show something in the last few games there was no urgency, they were just content with possesion which for the most part consisted of a lot of sideways passes with little to no penetration.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

bullseye, me too. Confident about West Ham but the h2h slightly concerns.

I’ve just noticed Basel are 13/8 to score 3+ against Lugano tonight. The previous 2 games between these 2 teams have each finished 3-1 Basel and Lugano are coming off a 6-0 and 7-0 defeat to Sion and Young Boys respectively. Given the fact Basel are easily the best team in Switzerland, this could be another cricket score if Lugano don’t get their act together.

    • warktheline 8 years ago

As Sir Jordan highlighted yesterday check team selection first, not sure if Janko is playing!

    • maccathered 8 years ago

I would be slightly concerned with odds of 4/6 for basel to win given the homeside predicament. Now if basel were 1/3 1/4 it would be about right, this is the time of the season where teams can do other teams favours.

    • kingdingaling 8 years ago

      Nice spot ! Well done

  32. warktheline 8 years ago

Anybody heard the team news for Basel game?

    • dt4854 8 years ago

No Janko. The line up is on Basel’s twitter.

    • warktheline 8 years ago

@mr corners, I’m leaving well alone, cheers pal.

  33. mervin 8 years ago

Janko and Emboli both left out of the Basel team.

    • meadway 8 years ago

No janko, embolo and sporar but basel can still easily win this game. The odd’s reflect basel not fielding a real striker for the game.

    • meadway 8 years ago

      Btts & Over 2.5 @ 1.80 looks a good bet.

    Afternoon gents

Some lower league matches from europe today that I looked at but sticking closer to home

West Ham v Man United KO 7pm

Both sides more than capable of scoring and with it being at Upton Park, the have been no shortage of goals there! As Mr F said the H2H strongly favours United but they are hopeless and will likely concede!!Going for both to net and that should lead us to goals

Back over 2.5 match goals 23/20 (Betfair) (NAP)

  37. joeyjoe 8 years ago

Basel are flying 2 up already. Still early days but was a bit mystified why they had shortened to 4/6.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Joeyjoe. There was enough mentioned about them last night and today. No need to be miffed. Many starters missing.

    • joeyjoe 8 years ago

Ah okay must pay more attention ha.
Yes and Lugano beat grasshoppers away recently…. Bloody football.

  38. Jordan 8 years ago

Ahh the brutality of football betting. Basel 2-0 in 13 minutes today. Could only score twice with 10 men the other day.

worth noting my brother got a 275/1 requestabet with payet to score and hit the woodwork and the gl off the post and in counted for both parts of bet. sure blind was a player to be carded but not sure about the rest

    • markus 8 years ago

Have been on that Atletico -1.0 Asian card handicap from early today. No idea why it’s priced at 1.8. Hope I’m not missing something. Card stats say this will sail in easy, and players like Busquets and Mascherano can’t afford one tonight, so that’ll put a damper on them. Meanwhile Simeone has said they’re bringing the intensity, as if the usual intensity at Vicente Calderon isn’t enough.

    • Alves 8 years ago

All depends how the game goes and who gets the 1st gl, either way it should win….seen -1 normal handicap at 21/20 but no wanting to be too greedy for no much of a difference in odds

In the Scottish Highland League Nairn’s last 13 have gone BTTS while Formartine have banged in a whopping 126 goals in 32. The 13 H2Hs between the two have not failed to see both teams potting. Fellow Highlanders Fraserburgh have enjoyed BTTS YES in 8 of last 9 and face a Turriff Utd side who have knocked in 80 in 30. I’m adding the Hammers on the double chance to round off the treble nicely.

Nairn County v Formartine BTTS (8pm)
Fraserburgh v Turriff Utd BTTS (8pm)
    West Ham D/C (7pm)
    (7/4 Coral)

    • stagger 8 years ago

Fail. Hammers crash out and, not that it matters, it’s goalless at HT in the Scottish games. Pathetic picking.

  47. meadway 8 years ago

    There’s the lugano goal.

  49. sean ireland 8 years ago

Has anyone ever tried going on a run of picking games that on paper look like they could be lacking in goals and likely draws, backing the draw and cashing out in play when a profit is on offer, not sure how it would work out but on paper looks likely to give profit a lot more often than most other betting types.Anyone ever tried it or have any thoughts. Maybe I’m wrong I don’t know but you’d think it should show profit not too long into the game.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Isn’t that just the same as picking a team to win around EVS then cashing out if they score early? Can’t rely on cash out to make profit in my opinion. I don’t rely on it at all.

    • sean ireland 8 years ago

Hi jordan,my thoughts are that the majority of games dont have an early goal therefore the majority of the time you should be in profit,a lot more often than backing the win anyway, thats my thinking anyway.Cheers for your reply.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

You’re not wrong. But bookies aren’t daft. They would block your cash out altogether after a while. When I just used William Hill I eventually got stopped from covering a leg of my bet. Say I had a treble and two bets had landed, the third game would be suspended from the start. Not as daft as we think.

    • snowster 8 years ago

That’s terrible. I know it’s their business but surely you should be able to cover. Yet another reason why I don’t use them any more

  77. Jordan 8 years ago

Few games tonight in the MLS but with form not taking its part just yet, I’m going to stick with a goalscorer as that’s where my luck has been going for me as of late.

Fanendo Adi has hit the ground running for Portland with 4 goals already this season and has scored in two of his last three against Dallas. Both could score here with all of Portlands games seeing it so far this season, and seven of the last eight h2h seeing BTTS & Over 2.5. If you want a long shot punt on a scorer for Dallas. Look no further than Maximiliano Urruti who signed for Dallas in the off season having left Portland after four seasons and leads Dallas with 3 goals this season.

    Fanendo Adi (Portland) Anytime @ 6/4 @ 888 – 1.5 points

    Adi/Urruti Anytime Double @ 13/2 @ William Hill – 0.5 a point

  78. dt4854 8 years ago

    Over 5.5 Palace corners

    9/10 (Bwin)

Mince from me tonight. Was banking on a Bayern win and any other in truth hey ho. Had a look at the overnights and an O1.5 fivefold is what I found. Would expect O2. 5 in most of these but football just doesn’t work like that.

    Copa Libertadores 11:30pm
    Emelec v Pumas UNAM

O 2.5 in the Copa makes the acca
    Just over 3/1

Good luck if you decide to have a pop.

    • ray_ez 8 years ago

San Jose Earthquakes v New York Red Bulls.
I scored a decent win betting against New York the other day.
I did watch most of the match and a missed pen, woodwork and generally just sh@te luck in front of goal cost them.
They have only scored in one game this season so far and that was 4 in a 4-3 win against Houston. How am I betting. Well tbh for my acca I put up O1.5 match goals be cause that should be ‘nailed on’?
My single bet is going on them to stop the rott.
They were unlucky not to at least score and I reckon when they do they will kick on. Small single on the NY win and btts @ 9/2.

Don’t let Zorba the Greek see you he’ll think you’ve made it up! Good luck mate.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

warktheline, good luck tomorrow – and as craneguy says 48’s not old anymore. And I should know.
I’d have 48-year-olds ahead of 24-year-olds any day if they can do a better job.

    • markus 8 years ago

Best of luck mate. Hope you get it

    • dt4854 8 years ago

Good luck, Warktheline. If you come across as well as you do on here, I’m sure you will boss it.

    nite owls

    veracrux o3.5mgs 15/8
    soa Paulo o3.5mgs 3/1
    double just over 10/1

may seen madness to stick up a 3/1 o3.5 on the soa Paulo game but both are just off the back of 6-0 victories against decent opposition and the last h2h was 1-1 so theres goals in the game I think, safer o2.5 still looks very decent at 5/4 oooft that’s nearly a write up ffs…………

ps @Jordan love the avey mate :D ;)

    €20 ACD Potiguar 1st goal before 80mins returns 36

  94. craneguy 8 years ago

GL wark, just be articulate, enthusiastic, act professionally, relax and express yourself……….. ;)

not often I’m serious on here but until recently I was senior manager with a large multi national crane engineering and manufacturing company and interviewed dozens of people over the years and that’s what I always looked for in people……….

I’m 49 now myself and decided to branch out on my own starting up a new business as if I don’t do it now I never will, new factory, staff, rent, rates cash flow, profits and loss blah blah blah = stress

age is no barrier these days 50 is the new 40 they say after all, I’m actually just about to start an engineer of 62 to pass on his skills over his remaining 2 or 3 years to the younger team members…………

genuinely hope you get it………. Crane :) ;)

    • Jordan 8 years ago

      :D

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Thought you might like it Crane. Good luck with the business sir.

Still a ripe age of 27 myself. What’s scarier is I’m one of the oldest in my office. Amazing place though. It’s like its not even a job. Can’t think of many people who can say that about their work.

    • craneguy 8 years ago

cheers Jordan, wish I was your age again though tbh ha ha………

yup really looking forward to the challenge, always loved my work too tbh never seen it as a job really hopefully it’ll all work out….. in fact I know it will because I’m doing it for myself now not “the man”

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

      Jordan, glad you’re enjoying it.
I’ve been in a few traders room and they seem to have a laugh – until they lose some money.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

That’s it crane. At least its you handing out the lashings now instead of taking them :)

Mr F its brilliant. Amazing the stuff you learn about what makes the markets move etc. Funnily enough though they don’t seem to be that bothered about losses as they know they’ll make it back.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Jordan, I suppose that’s the way – it’s about long term and not what happens on the day.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Spot on Mr F. Baseball season has just started too so we’ll be fine when the form of the sharps picks up and our model numbers get better. Apparently NFL is the one they all wait for as the US go mad for it. Non stop over in America!

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Jordan, you’ll be the man for those two then.
Admin sorting things out and I’ll email you some more thoughts tomorrow.
Been a long day so calling it night.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. Surprised FROME TOWN FC haven’t offered me a job, bloody plugged them enough!!!?

    Bet 18

    Peru – Apertura 9.30pm
    UTC v Real Garcilasco
    Over 2.5 Match Goals

    91/100 (William Hill, Paddy Power)

LOST – 1-1 after 6mins and a missed penalty late on too and that’s how it finished. To make matter worse flash scores decided to tell me it was 2-1 after the penalty to only take it away again! Rather unamused at the moment ? been pretty unlucky with a fair few of my bets this month hoping that changes over the weekend

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Grab an oar sir we will sail the seven seas together.

    • -wato- 8 years ago

Haha brilliant ? at least I do find when I lose my bets are generally coming very close generally one goal here and there which is a guess a positive something you find too mate. If I was backing teams to win constantly I know for a fact that wouldn’t be the case. I can feel a run of 5 or 6 winners coming very soon ??

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Yes and no Wato. Today for instance Basel screwed me over on the weekend but flew in with a weakened squad today, and West Ham would have done me on the DC as I would have bet that for sure. I tend not to worry about losses anymore mate but I think that’s because of the run I have had over the past year. A lot of people bet to make money but I do it for the enjoyment. I think I prefer the research side of things rather than waiting for a winner. Think that’s why I’ve got myself into the right job. I hope the winners come for you sir. All about luck this game.

    • meadway 8 years ago

Completely agree with enjoying the research more than waiting for the bet to come in jordan. Research is the fun part.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Nothing like a good head scratcher for an hour over mulling over which teams you fancy mate!

    • -wato- 8 years ago

Yeah very true we do need a lot of luck. Secret is not getting too carried away with winners and too down etc with losses.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

My status on here is and has been for a while ‘Always be prepared to lose’.

A good motto in the world of betting if I say so myself.

    • meadway 8 years ago

that’s the correct way to think, I like to tell myself once a bet is placed whatever i have staked is gone until it’s a winner.
Then again i rarely cash out and let most bets ride without cover if they are singles.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Meadway, I act as if cash out doesn’t exist. I must have cashed out for the first time in over a year the other night on a basketball game because the team was up by so much and I needed to go to bed as I had work. I will always look to cover with another bookmaker if and when I can, and sometimes I won’t cover at all. I think the sooner punters realise that this isn’t a way to become rich, then they’ll find it more enjoyable.

  97. craneguy 8 years ago

sair yin wato hate that myself on flash then the dreaded “correction” comes up lol

back on the horse mate……….. get on ma 3/1 shoe in over in brazil…………… :D :D :)

    • -wato- 8 years ago

Lol will keep an eye on that one mate good luck might have trouble sleeping after losing that one tonight ? lol

  98. meadway 8 years ago

    22.00 kick off : Belen vs Santos de guapiles : BTTS @ 2.00 *Won* 79 minute’s

just a stats punt based on past H2H’s

  99. Jordan 8 years ago

@mr-fixit, NFL maybe but not clued up on the MLB. Thing is though you don’t have to be. I’m sure you already know, but they don’t make trades based on who they think will win. Its all analytics and calculating value. Such an interesting job and I’m very fortunate to be involved. Ok no problem with email. Goodnight.
