ELITE ICON (4.10) would have a big chance if turned out again after last night’s third at Musselburgh.

That was a satisfactory return from a 232-day absence and although Iain Jardine’s gelding could never get to grips with the pacesetters he wasn’t beaten far behind the gambled-on Picture Painter.

Elite Icon may just have needed the run following such a long break and this looks an equally modest affair, with likely favourite Royal Cosmic, two wins from two starts at the track, never risked previously on ground this fast.

With William Haggas in such rampant form it may be folly to oppose Mosalim in the Class 4 handicap but DUBAI ACCLAIM (3.40) is the each-way call at around 5-1.

Richard Fahey’s colt chased home a smart early-season sort in Vale Of Kent at Wolverhampton and Paul Hanagan will be keen to exploit his mount’s early pace by taking up a prominent position from his wide draw. Dubai Acclaim makes his turf debut but should enjoy slick conditions underfoot.

He receives 5lb from Mosalim, winner of a median auction at Chelmsford City. Haggas is masterful when moving his improving three-year-olds through the handicap ranks and there may be much more to come. However, the placed horses at Chelmsford City, Lord Vetinari and Mont Kinabalu, are no world-beaters and Dubai Acclaim should give him a race.

RAPID APPLAUSE (2.40) is stripped for action eight days after scoring at Beverley and is capable of defying his penalty.

Nathan Evans had to sit and suffer after his route through the pack was blocked but his mount displayed a very smart turn of foot to quickly reel in Tanasoq when eventually finding some racing room. The runner-up re-opposes on better terms and has the benefit of a good draw, whereas Rapid Applause is parked out in stall two. Hopefully, Rapid Applause will be tucked in as he could be a sprinter that likes to come through tiring horses.

AL OZZDI (4.40) has sneaked in at the bottom of the handicap with a big ew chance. Simon Crisford’s three-year-old picked up a novice stakes event at Brighton on fast ground last August and ran well in better company when last seen in a Kempton nursery in September. He has been gelded, Paul Hanagan is booked and a hood is applied for the first time.

Favourite Trading Point is turned out under a fixed penalty eight days after bolting up at Beverley, making all the running on an easier surface.

Keith Dalgleish saddles three in a competitive 7f Class 5 handicap and ZORAVAN (3.10) may surprise a few better fancied rivals.

He was a winner at Doncaster over this trip last April but has slipped to a 13lb lower mark after losing his way. There seemed to be some green shoots of recovery on show at Haydock last Saturday when fifth under today’s apprentice and there was a bit of money around for Zoravan last night.

Dalgleish landed a couple of gambles last night and will no doubt have something lined up for Hamilton on Sunday, the first meeting of the year at his local track.

APPENZELLER (2.20) will be hard to beat at Lingfield.

Making seasonal reaperance after a gelding operation and wearing a first time hood and an in form Paul Hanagan riding i think we could see this horse improve today.
The O’mera horse will be popular with favourite backers no doubt after a cosy win last week but thats not my kind of price for a horse to win and i see value going e/w on the Cristford horse.

Good luck with mount ararat jb, 10s into 3s.

Channon is in great form, he has 1 runner at Chepstow, in the last, Fitzwilly 3/1. The same can be said for Ralph Beckett in a sense, and with Oisin Murphy on board, 300 Gilded Hour at 2s looks a promising bet.

SDS has a few rides at Lingfield, and a couple for Mark Johnston, itd make sense to go with favourite Juneau 9/4 at 220. Richard Kingscote is a reliable jockry and rides 2 potentiak winners in the 250 and 350.

If you see this oplug, how sweet are you on your nb?? He is the 3rd horse in a £10 treble, £130 cashout or nesr on £500 if it wins.

database i think he have a very good chance of winning today, but you know with horse racing anything can happen .thats what i hate about cash outs it f—s up your head you dont know what to do for the best. if it was me i think i would cash out and put some back on desert ace to be safe.ijust cant believe it i just backed that 12/1 shot only had a euro ew just for the interest he won,my luck is in all this week and long may it continue also had gilded hour, hateya, another great day.best of luck what ever you decide

database did you put the nap in your treble

I wad up 800 yday then finished losing 1500 so I wont be cashing out, £130 is no good to me, in a sense it is as I could have 2 £65 singles, but as you said Id be sick if your nb won, so it rides! And yes I selected it myself in a L15 but put into biggertrebles after I saw you nap it, so cheers and well done on the week, respected your input for a few years now.

    wasnt meant to be database

Nah, nevermind my own fault for bring greedy, can win 800 in one race and lose it in the next hour, built up 2500 from 600 2 weeks ago and lost all in a day, lost 600 sat, won it all back and got to 900 up, lost it all in little more than an hour.
Its neber enough for me so this is a dangerous sport, may have to knock it on the head, can do well for days but always have a blow up. I am poor, rare I have 4 figures to my name. Yesterday I had 3x£200 singles, a £300 single and a £350 single lol, sadly nothing on alans gamble either.

To top it off, chucked 80 on ararat at 5s when backed big, odds analysis looks like he wont be winning. Hopefully just a bookies ploy, lost 200 on a havlin gosden fav yday, no thanks!

Ruth Carr and Jimmy Sullivan really caught my attention last season, and the trainer is starting to get a few winners recently (2 today) they team up in the 305 at Wetherby, their only ride, at 9/1, although facing some powerful stables, you wont go too wrong putting them in some ew multipleß.
