IT'S been a tough two rounds in the US Open at Olympic with just three players under par.

Those are Tiger Woods, Mr Fixit's 40-1 tip Jim Furyk and David Toms all on -1. Woods has proven a popular pick in our competition, as has Furyk but no one has Toms on their team.

Some big names have let a lot of you down with the likes of Dustin Johnson (+9), Rory McIlroy (+10) and Luke Donald (+11) all missing the cut.

So it's well done to those who resisted the two fancied Brits. At this stage Simon Petty leads our competition with a team consisting of Woods, Dufner and Rose – all of whom have started well to give him a combined score of +6. He's closely followed by a whole host of people on +7 and +8. Here's the top contenders after Round 2.

+6  Simon Petty Woods    -1    Dufner    3    Rose    4

+7  Joe Knotts Woods    -1    Westwood    5    Kucher    3

+7  Sean McCready Woods    -1    Dufner    3    Westwood    5

+7  Simon Westwood    5    Kucher    3    Woods    -1

+7  Chris Nicholls Woods    -1    Westwood    5    Dufner    3

+8  Johnathan Conor Woods    -1    Scott    6    Kucher    3

+8  Malcolm Caithness Woods    -1    Westwood    5    Rose    4

+8  Danny Gallagher Rose    4    Furyk    -1    Poulter    5

+8  Johnathan Grieve Westwood    5    Furyk    -1    Garcia    4

Good job on the tips Paul,Furyk’s looking good and McDowell and Westwood aren’t out of it. How do u tend 2 do with golf tips?

Jonathan, as you can see, especially during the football season, I don’t have much time to look at the golf. I try to do tips on the Majors but to be honest if I haven’t looked out my own selections I’ll follow Steve Palmer or Jeremy Chapman, both full-time golf tipsters and both very good. However, I’m claiming Furyk as my own and I posted his name on the site a few days before Palmer tipped him up in the Racing Post. I also flagged up McDowell and we both liked Donald’s chances but he’s gone.

Nice tipping paul, furyk especially as i would never have thought of him. Ive just put wee ew on kuchar and westwood @ 25/1 + 28/1. Westwood always seems to be there or thereabouts at majors altho never winner.

Joe, can u post your tips for tonight’s game. Yours and Tim’s must be in quarantine so result might have to be declared tomorrow. On Furyk, it’s not a good tip until the final round is over. Got to say I’d be worried about Tiger right now, he’s looking pretty good, so might have a saver on him.
