IT was a close run thing late last night at Olympic as Webb Simpson emerged from the pack to win the US Open and it was just as close in my US Open Competition sponsored by Blue Sq.
As Jim Furyk's challenge faded so did overnight leader Jonathan Grieve's chances of scooping the £50 first prize.
He was eventually overtaken by Sean McCready and Chris Nicholls who both had the same trio of Woods, Westwood and Dufner to finish up on +15 and share first position. They receive a £30 free bet at Blue Sq each.
Guy Walker and Simon Petty both shared third place, two shots behind the leaders, while Jonathan Grieve will still pick up a £10 free bet for his fifth-placed finish.
There was a three-way tie for the final £10 bet in sixth place and that goes to Malcolm Caithness, so hard luck to Ian Matthews and Kenny Allan – better luck next time.
