Friendly, Kufstein (Austria), 7pm

THE friendly internationals weren't so unfriendly on Sunday night with France and Mexico coming up trumps.

France left it very late as they came from 2-0 down to beat Iceland 3-2 with two goals in the last five minutes while Mexico notched a comfortable 2-0 win despite a fine display from Aberdeen keeper Jason Brown.

So what about tonight? The main game is Ukraine v Estonia and although you can't say for sure in a friendly on neutral ground in Austria it does look like a win for the favourites.

Ukraine are taking their warm-up seriously as they prepare to co-host Euro 2012 and will be looking to put on a decent show in the first of three friendlys before the start of the tournament.

Players will be out to impress boss Oleg Blokhin before he cuts three of them on tomorrow's deadline to name final squads.

Ukraine are no bigger than 4-11 at Ladbrokes and BetVictor so unles you are prepared to risk a huge wad the best way to go is Ukraine -1 at 11-10 with Skybet.

Veteran striker Andriy Shevchenko is fit and raring to go and is 4-1 with Paddy Power to score first and 1-1 to net at any time.

Estonia lost 3-1 to Croatia at the weekend and another two-goal defeat is a possibility. Estonia are 17-2 at BetVictor with the draw 7-2 at BetVictor and Paddy Power.

    Backed Ukraine ht/ft.

Little disappointed with the skinny prices available for Andriy Yarmolenko to score. He plays out wide and is an outstanding prospect. Definitely one to watch out for this summer and beyond!

Marc, I noticed a couple of sites tipping him to score first so maybe that’s why. He got the opener and Ukraine cruising at 3-0 before half-time.

He’s the one Ukraine are pinning their hopes on. Scored a healthy number of goals for someone so young. When you watch him he’s definitely more of a winger but may end up playing through the middle as his career progresses. Thought he was priced as I’d expect a striker but I guess the bookies were covering themselves.

Straightforward enough tonight it seems… not tempting fate : )

Got a tenner on an odd little treble at 5/1 of Ukraine, Tromso and Estudiantes. Tromso currently leading in their game. Only put it on cos horses have done me well today!

Sheva’s on now, be good to see him grab a goal.

Marc, that would round it off. I wish I’d been braver and gone Ukraine -2 but stayed with -1 after some of the strange friendly results.

Sore one if you backed the big man to score at anytime but as Paul says that’s why it’s so important to check the team line up. He may still score.

Think you were quite right to stick -1 as possible multi subs could have easily taken the sting out of the game plus Croatia, a better side than Ukraine, only beat Estonia by a 2 goal margin on home soil where as tonight’s was a neutral venue.

Marc, you’re right. It was the way to go with this type of game but some bets always look better with the benefit of hindsight.

Always the same but a wins a win and you’ve more money in your pocket than you did at 7pm!
