ENGLAND unleash Wayne Rooney on the Euros tonight – so what will be his response?
Will he score, will he behave, will he last 90 minutes? You can have a bet on some or all of them as Roomania hits Rookraine.
Rooney has been grinning from the sidelines as his team-mates have been off winning points on the pitch.
And boosted by the return of the Man United striker I expect Roy Hodgson's men to beat Ukraine and take their place in the last eight.
Doubts were cast about England's chances of making the top two in Group D with Rooney banned for the first two games.
But players such as Danny Welbeck, Andy Carroll and Theo Walcott have stepped up to the plate and Hodgson's side have performed better than expected so far.
The 1-1 draw with France was the kind of display we've come to expect from Hodgson sides but the one against Sweden wasn't.
It was a thriller – the best second half of the tournament so far – and England ran out deserved 3-2 victors.
So all they need against co-hosts Ukraine tonight is a draw but they can beat a side who looked poor in their 2-0 defeat to France.
There is no doubt Rooney to score first at a best 11-2 with BetVictor, Coral and others will be the most popular punt – but will he hit the ground running?
After a couple of weeks on the sidelines he may need time to get going and is unlikely to last the whole game. Ladbrokes offer 7-2 Rooney is subbed and it's a fair chance. To score at any time he's 6-4 at bodog.
Rooney, sent off in his last international start against Montenegro, is 33-1 with bet365 to be red-carded again and 11-4 to be booked. And he's 4-1 at Ladbrokes to be named man of the match.
Rooney is likely to be partnered by Welbeck (15-2, Stan James) and he has to be worth a look after his strike against the Swedes. Welbeck is 4-6 at Ladbrokes to start at the expense of Andy Carroll (11-10).
And what about skipper Steven Gerrard who has yet to break his Euro 2012 duck but went close against the Swedes. He is 12-1 at unibet to break the deadlock and 9-2 at Betred to score at anytime.
The Three Lions have come out on top in three of the other four encounters – conceding two goals in the process – and Hodgson's men are 11-4 with the likes of Paddy Power and Skybet to win to nil.
Just to win England are a biggest 5-4 at Paddy Power with Ukraine (5-2, various) and the draw 9-4 at Ladbrokes.
In the other Group D France also need a draw but again I'm on them to beat a Sweden side already out of the tournament.
The French are 8-13 (various) with Sweden as big as 5-1 with Paddy Power, William Hill and others with the draw 14-5 (various).
Karim Benzema is 9-2 (BetVictor) favourite to score first but he's been setting them up so consider Arsenal new boy Olivier Giroud at 6-1 with Paddy Power.
To net at any time it's Benzema (6-4, Blue Square) and Giroud (2-1, Betfred).
Sweden have scored in their two games so far and can do so again so look at both to net at 10-11 with William Hill.

Craig, they sent a list of Rooney specials to me in a press release and it was on it. However, they could have taken it down already. I’ll try to find out but heading off to the golf so it will be later on I’m afraid.
Rooney to be subbed seems an interesting bet? Perhaps subbed for another striker or for a midfielder it defender. I can see a 1-0 victory tonight.
Chris, there are two ways to look at Rooney. Either he’ll be fresh and up to play 90 minutes or he’ll find it hard again, especially if it’s hot. Hodgson will have Carroll or Welbeck ready to come on and both have scored in the tournament so will be confident and looking for a run-out. Personally, if he plays I don’t see Rooney lasting 90 minutes or being allowed to last 90 minutes.
Paul Wellbeck may be the best option and at 15/2 with paddy power who will refund if Rooney scores at anytime.
Paul think I’ll also go with Giroud mate as Bluesquare refunding up to £50 if Benzema or Ribery score first. Can’t complain at that. Also how much would you risk on Rooney to be substituted? You’d have to think he won’t have full match fitness and if England are 1-0 or 2-0 up they may opt to take him off. Same if he gets booked. This could possibly be a warm up match for the quarter finals.
Chris, off to the golf where I’ll be thinking about England during shots. How sad is that. But won big on Italy (luckily) last night so have a good feeling about England and France. Will check the comments when I get back about 4pm.
Enhanced double on 888. France and England @ 10/3!! This has to come down. Oddschecker showing best odds off 3.67 which is around 13/5 i think. Worth £30 anyway.
Paul and Craig just spent a bit of time on the phone to them re Rooney bet. They insisted there never was such a bet. I asked them to dig a little deeper they said it was a mistake in the website so it was taken down early this morning but I could have the bet at 9/4 if I wanted. What will Rooney do first may be worth a shout though at 7/1 for him to be subbed first.

Alex and Joe think I’ll go with with Bezema too if Giroud not playing. Giroud is not in the probable team line up on Eurosport. If you back Giroud then money back with Bluesq if Benzema or Ribery scores first. Even if I’m backing Benzema I’ll be using Bluesq as they will refund if Ribery scores first.

This morning I place £60 on a first Goalscorer with them which was fine. I then noticed Joe’s comments about the double and I realised Paddy Power had the same enhanced double at 4/1. I tried to place a £50 bet with them and message came on my screen saying maximum stake allowed for this bet was £1.81. Seriously who is taking the piss here. £1.81 stake in a 4/1 shot. I fell so let down by Paddy Power. They used to be my fav but I’m starting to believe they are a sad pathetic excuse for a bookmaker. Absolutely shambolic behaviour. Makes them look small fish. First of all they tried to say the bet has net it’s liability but when I told them other friends etc have out it on they told me I was restricted. I’ve taken the France England double and also Gerrard to score first which is refunded if Rooney scores anytime. The same double was successful in the last round of matches so lets hope so again. Think both teams will be out to win in order to avoid Spain in the quarters.
Another terrific night of betting last night, absolutely everything I covered came up inc the Spain/Italy to win to nil double which paid out well. And others inc the straight win double, Italy -1 etc. Taken my pure profit to just under 2k on the individual match bets alone since the start of the euros. And that was started with a mere 100 on Russia on day 1 and I’ve added nothing since. Also still to add on my ante post betting to that figure aswell. I think France will win with a bit to spare tonight and i do fancy england. I hope they score before the hour mark tho as after that i can see them falling deeper. Think if redknapp was in charge he would go for goals to win group but hodgson is more pragmatic and may just concentrate on qualifying first and worry about spain tomorrow. I would like to see him drop johnson as milner spends half his time covering for him when he goes on one of his ,mostly ineffectual, runs forward. Playing a better defender like phil jones at right back would allow him to start with walcott on right wing giving u very tasty and pacy attackers in walcott young rooney and wellbeck! Gerard and milner could shore up the defence when needed. Whatever england play i think it should be enough to beat ukraine who were shown up as an average side by french.

Telling you my day has just gone from bad to worse. Tried to place £100 on Gerrard first goal at 9/2 for over an hour. Didn’t let me. Phoned them up and they tell me the usual crap log out, refresh, delete cookies, make sure your conmputet is switched on at the plug, make sure you have an Internet connection, blah blah blah. Turns out they cut the price. Angry as they wouldn’t honour the 9/2 but had to place the bet cos I would have been over more angrier if I hadn’t taken the 4/1 and it comes up. Not a very good day to be honest!

Before the tournament kicked off I weighed in on the Dual Forecast market of France/England qualifying which was 15/8 with Paddy Power. This was my strongest and most fancied bet of the tournament and I piled on accordingly so I’m in a good position. With hills 4/1 offer I wouldn’t be surprised if the bookies have lost all their profits from the previous games with that. There must have been some amount of money on it for them to cut an advertised special although I still believe they shouldn’t have, regardless of the amount staked. All that does is give them bad publicity.
Chris, the one word used by my old pal Steve Freeth at bet365 was Shit! Simple as that. However, I’m sure he’s delighted to pay out and see England through. By the way weight of money will always reduce a price because the decision to cut is taken by traders not PR men.
