Euro 2012, Group D, Friday, Donetsk, 5pm

FRANCE remain Group D favourites and showed their quality in spells against England.

Neither of the co-hosts has yet to be beaten but I fear for Ukraine in Donetsk.

They did well to recover from a goal down to beat Sweden but both Andrei Shevchenko's goals were down to defensive lapses.

I don't think France will be as generous as the Swedes and will have learned their lesson for the way they conceded to Lescott.

So it's a French victory for me at (11-10, various) in a game that could go over 2.5 goals at 6-4 with Betfred and see both teams score (11-10, various).

Karim Benzema displayed some nice touches and movement against the English and I'm trying the Real Madrid star at 11-2 with Stan James and BetVictor to hit the opener.

Samir Nasri, who struck a drive past Joe Hart in the opener, is 10-1 (various) with the ever-dangerous Franck Ribery 15-2 at bodog.

Plenty of people focused on up-and-coming Andriy Yarmolenko in the first game but veteran Shevchenko stole the show with two excellent finishes.

Shevvy is 10-1 at BetVictor and Paddy Power to hit the first with Yarmolenko 11-1 with Stan James.

Ukraine will have their supporters at 3-1 (various) and it's never wise to write off any home side while the draw pays 12-5 at BetVictor.

Recommendations

France
(11-10, various)

Benzema to score first
(11-2, Stan James)

Both to score Ukraine v France
(11-10, various)

Paul glad to see you agree with me with your selections. I was going to wait to see your tips but after a few days with no bets I was too excited when my salary got paid into the bank at put some of my bets on at 2am! I’ve give for Benzema first and last especially since he has not scored yet. Im also on him to score at anytime 15/8 with Stan James.

11/1 with Paddy Power for Benzema and Shevchenko both 2 score? If u can see both teams scoring that might b worth a punt

Chris, yesterday was pay day thanks to Spain!
PS. Are Ladbrokes giving you a better deal than boylesports?

  4. Mr Chris Guy 12 years ago

Ha ha no. Could have went for the usual refund with Boylesports if the player scores second but for instance Benzema only 9/2. Idvrather take the 11/2 on offer.

    My bets for today:

    Benzema F.Scorer 9/2 dd/hh

    Nasri Anytime 4/1 Betfred

Both teams to score for the last 10 games on the tourney group stages

    £1.50 £676 return or summit.

    Considering ibrahimovich but not sure

Paul do you have any suggestions for man if the match in France game. Was considering Benzema but don’t know if he is a bit short at 7/2. It seems a ridiculous price when it’s 11/2 fir him to score first. Saying that he may well get it and the likes of Nasri is not much better at 5/1.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Chris, MOM in France game’s a tough one. Benzema has to be in with a shout but what about the comeback lad M’Vila who is highly rated.

  7. david paterson 12 years ago

Chris Guy just a suggestion, I think they are a bit short too, if there was a french player who stood out in the opening game for me it had to Giroud. Hell be looking to impress aswell with arsenal chasing his signature. Nasri is obviously a good shout but any others Giroud has to be in there. Bombing up and down the wing always looking to provide.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

David, what do you mean “match first bet”.

  11. David moore 12 years ago

Like a free bet. Was guna have 50 on France -1. but if I could get it match somewhere might as well have the xtra bet as cover any ideas ?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

David, look at sites such as betrescue and oddschecker for best offers, they have a list of them, then come back and open the account via us.

Very pleased with the French lineup. Thought Malouda was poor against England and Nasri surely offers more of a threat from there. Not seen much of Menez but heard good things. And hopefully Clichy takes his chance

Well I hope all bets refunded

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Chris, are you not confident or what?

  18. david paterson 12 years ago

Will they not just keep them until the game is played?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

David, if it doesn’t start bets could stand but it depends on when it’s rescheduled. Some bookies will give you the choice to let them lie or void them.

  19. David moore 12 years ago

That’s a nightmare. Felt like there was somthing special going to happen !!

  20. Mr Chris Guy 12 years ago

Paul I want the game to be played. Only worrying incase my first last and anytime scorer bets stand cos they had been playing for 3 mins. Surely not but you never know

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Chris, that definitely won’t be the case. No bets will be down if the game doesn’t start again. They will automatically stand for tomorrow unless you try to void them, although any wanting to do that would be advised to do so before tonight’s France v Sweden game kicks off.

  21. Mr Chris Guy 12 years ago

I’m confident big man Benzema gonnae do the business

  22. david paterson 12 years ago

TV is saying, It wont kickoff again until at least 6pm and if it doesnt continue tonight provisions are in place for them to play it tomorrow.

  23. sean mac n.ireland 12 years ago

  25. George kelly 12 years ago

Atill waiting for benzema any time…. Pull your finger out karim!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

George, I should have backed Menez at half-time as he looked the most likely. Anyway a France win is what I need first and foremost, a Benzema goal would be a bonus.

  26. George kelly 12 years ago

I did £20 on a paddy power enhanced double, France and England to win @6/1
All my others had been ruined by France! Got y fingers crosse to England!
