Donny Boy ran a stinker at Kelso. He jumped terribly throughout and was pulled up. The whole race was a bit strange with only a couple of horses finishing the race and many being off the bridle around halfway through the race.
It wouldn't surprise me to see him back over hurdles quite quickly on the back of that performance, it was far from ideal and hurdles might be the better route for his career at the moment.
Taunton 2:15
Surely there won't be a shock result in this race, as I can only see a few of horses who should be competitive. A lot of people were raving about SHE'S A SAINT when romping home at Hexham in a very weak race, she hasn't won since but has run with credit and I think she'll appreciate this weaker race.
It's annoying how punters latch onto horses so easily on the back of an easy success and hype horses up as they did to this horse. She literally beat nothing but was then backed into 1/4F to win her next race where she was beaten. The run after in a Class 1 Listed race was a return to form to finish as runner-up behind a nice Nicky Henderson type in Luccia. Though she was convincingly beat by the Henderson horse, I thought She's A Saint stuck to the task really well and ran a nice race, which saw her reverse the form with Carole's Pass who beat her on her previous start.
I can see how people like the chance of Lutinebella and Credrojava, but I think the latter has something to prove up at this level and the former is definitely a contender in this, but I feel like the Skelton horse might be a bit better at this moment in time. I do rate that run behind Luccia quite highly in terms of the form in this race.
Taunton 2:45
HUNTSMANS JOG isn't exactly my strongest fancy of the day but there are a few reasons to believe he can bounce back to form in this contest.
This horse has been moved from Fergal O'Briens to Milton Harris' yard. Some might think that's not a wise move but based on his backward step as a horse in the last year or so it was probably needed and a change of scenery could work wonders for him like we've seen with many horses before him.
What I like about this move to Milton's yard is that he has instantly noticed a drop in handicap rating on his hurdles rating, which dropped with the chase rating, and he has thought he could exploit it and has sent him back over hurdles. I think that this is the correct move as he hasn't exactly set the world alight as a chaser and his handicap mark has dropped from 122 to 110. He is a winner over hurdles off a mark of 116 which came on soft ground. The ground at Taunton isn't soft at the moment, but they are expecting a heavy amount of rain to land in the morning so that could turn the ground quite testing, if so, then that's another thing in this horse's favour.
I'm not for one minute saying he's going to win this, but I think he is worth a chance at the odds of him returning to some form. He's still young enough horse to kickstart his career again, and he's been given a good chance by the handicapper to run a big race.

The 2nd and 3rd have both won nto and based on that run the extra distance should be of benefit.

This looks an open race on paper but having spent some time looking into it imo the best bet in the race is Kakamora at each way.
The horse has the form to be competitive here and I’m hoping the step up in trip and first time application of the cheekpieces will eke out further improvement which should see him land this.
The handicapper has certainly given him a chance as he is 9lbs lower than his last winning mark which was admittedly over hurdles but I think he has a great chance to win his first race over the bigger obstacles today.
