IT'S not the greatest week for punters but if the form book plays out a profit should be made tonight at least.

The card is dominated by FA Cup and Scottish Cup ties and there are some strong looking contenders.

League One leaders Tranmere are being heavily backed and are now a biggest 8-11 with Coral and William Hill at Blue Square Premier strugglers Braintree who have only one once at home this season.

The Prenton Park men should notch a comfortable win and if that price doesn't grab you then look at them minus one at 7-4 with BetVictor.

Bradford have been on a great run in the Capital One Cup, including victory on penalties at Wigan in the last round, should see off League Two rivals Northampton at home. They are nicely priced at 10-11 with William Hill and will want to put on a good show with Arsenal to come at home in the League Cup.

MK Dons are too short at 1-5 but should beat Evo-Stik southern side Cambridge with plenty to spare. Minus one pays 1-2 at Betfred while minus two is a possibility at 11-8 with bet365. The Dons have kept six clean sheets on the bounce and are 8-11 at Paddy Power to record another as they try to set up a grudge clash with Wimbledon.

Mansfield should have beaten Slough at home but are likely to make amends when they visit the Southern Central League team. The Stags dominated at home but left their shooting boots in the dressing room and 5-6 with boylesports and William Hill isn't bad.

If you're looking for a shock it could come at Walsall where Lincoln are the visitors. The sides are separated by 47 places in the pyramid system but Walsall haven't won in 10 and Lincoln are unbeaten in eight – and confidence is everything.

Lincoln are as big as 7-1 at boylesports and at that price you can also look at the Blue Square Premier side plus one at 13-10 with Paddy Power.

In Scotland the best bets should be Morton at home to Second Division Albion Rovers but again bookies are giving nothing away with the best price 1-3 at William Hill and BetVictor.

I like the look of Raith Rovers at home to Airdrie in an all-First Division clash. Rovers, unbeaten in six, notched an impressive win against Falkirk at the weekend and are six points ahead of the Diamonds in the league. Raith are a biggest 8-13 William Hill.

The third tie is pretty tough to call between Berwick and Stenhousemuir but I'm pretty sure both teams will score so take that at 4-9 (various). Both have netted in Berwick's last four and in the previous meeting. Five of Stenny's last six have seen both net with a total of 21 goals.

There is one league game and I expect Queen's Park to bounce back from a weekend mauling at the hands of Stranraer to beat East Stirling. Best price is 4-9 at William Hill and Ladbrokes.

What do you think on Nuneaton to beat Luton? I know they are bottom of the blue Sq but anything can happen in the cup. Nuneaton, tranmere and Mansfield treble 12-1 with paddy power

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Jordan, I looked at the game but as you can see I left it well alone. I can see why you’d consider Nuneaton because obviously they drew away and since then Luton have lost two without scoring. Nuneaton as you say are bottom of the Blue Square Premier and have won only one at home and have no form to speak of. For me backing Nuneaton would be speculative but good luck if you go with them.

  2. Eddie 11 years ago

Remember the old days when you got decent prices for BTTS

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Eddie, I remember them well but then more of us started doing the lines and winning. At the start the prices were actually too good and it was no surprise when they started being cut. The next step would be to withdraw the market altogether but hopefully that doesn’t happen.

  3. David Burza 11 years ago

Hope noone bets on Graham 1st scorer, he’s suspended tonight

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

David, cheers for that, will amend. Looked at team news today but no mention.

  4. roberskine 11 years ago

Hey Mr fix it, first time poster but been using your tips for my accas for a few weeks. Do you have any tips on pricing perm bets? For example if i have a tenner and a 6 team acca, how much would you place on the 6 fold and the 5 fold?

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Rob, if you had a tenner for a six-team accer I’d do six fivefolds at £1.50 and a £1 acca.

  5. Striker 11 years ago

When MK Dons faced Cambridge City a week or so ago, they were held to 0-0. So minus 2 sounds risky to me…

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Striker, it is risky as are manybets but with home advantage MK Dons should win. I’m looking at the -1 and have quoted the -2 for anyone who might be interested.

My home town team will lose tonight, at home to Tranmere. Put all you can afford on a Tranmere win. The minus 1 goal price looks particularly good!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Luke, I hope you’re right. Everything points to a Tranmere win but cup football can throw up shocks. How’s the pitch, will it affect the game?

  8. john g 11 years ago

If you pick 6 teams that would be 6 5folds and 1 6 team acca. 7 bets in total, maybe you could do 1-50 on the 5 folds and a pound on your acca. I’m still learning the ropes myself so if I’ve got this wrong its my mistake and ill just need to keep my mouth shut in future lol.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

John, you’ve got that one spot on.

  9. MysticClegg 11 years ago

Many of the 49s dockets have a chart on the back showing doubles, trebles etc from a different number of selections..

  10. roberskine 11 years ago

Cheers Mr Fixit, and John G. Just have to stick to 6 teams instead of going for the speculative 15-20 team accas………….nice odds though lol

  11. Mister Mr 11 years ago

Hi Mr Fixit….. What’s the most cash you have placed on a double or treble? I’m thinking about placing £300 on Tranmere & MK Dons to win double. Will pay £580 if successful.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Mister Mr, my reply to that would be only bet what you can afford to lose. Of course it looks a good double but nothing is guaranteed. So before you place it think about how you’ll be placed if you lose. Of course you might be playing with bookies’ money which would be great. My stakes very mainly depending on how I’ve fared on recent bets. All my big bets have been on singles and only once have I lost when betting more than £100.

  12. Eddie 11 years ago

Sweden v England 4/5 for btts

just for a bit of interest really.

  14. Luke 11 years ago

Haven’t been there at all this year. Have played on it several times before, and was always in great nick. So long as Tranmere can settle in early on, I can easily see them winning by 2 or 3. I’d have less confidence in Tranmere if they were playing Team Braintree (Braintree reserves). They’ve got some cracking players, one or two may even be in squad tonight!

  15. Mister Mr 11 years ago

Thank you Mr F, I am taking that on board and not betting tonight. I would be too gutted to lose that much money. Good luck to everyone tonight.

  16. AC 11 years ago

You know what … I am going to stick the change in my pocket (which is a dazzling £6) on your 5 to follow Mr F and just for kicks I am going to throw in Lincoln away as well.

    Good Luck everyone!

  17. Andy Greenan 11 years ago

Draw – tranmere / draw – raith 2 singles and a double for me

  18. Craig alves 11 years ago

grow a pair mr mister and go for -1 double haha
serious tho can’t see that double losing but wouldn’t be putting that amount on it, £100 tops cos if it was me and I backed out at last minute i’d be raging but you may wellhhave last laugh if Braintree pull off a shock cos can’t see Cambridge gettin anyhing. Morton Raith Tranmere and MK Dons/Cambridge overs plus Spain overs tomorrow and mighty Scotland to ‘restore’ some pride

  19. Hughie 11 years ago

Over 2.5 morton raith england Scotland

  20. john g 11 years ago

Tonight I’ve done tranmere, bradford and raith rovers to win. 10 pound treble 45 back. I’m hoping posting it here brings me luck, and if not maybe I should chuck it for good!

  21. Hughie 11 years ago

Get wife to pick line mine got 9/1 treble at weekend Crewe man u both 2-0 down and won 3-2 plus aberdeen who done st mirren 4-1

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Hughie, at least she’s paying her way. I wouldn’t let my wife pick the lottery to be honest.

  22. Mister Mr 11 years ago

Craig, I just don’t know how Braintree will react to the live tv cameras at home. They could become superstars and pull off a shock
    Haha

  23. Hughie 11 years ago

Her tips better than mine just now worst thing is had to give her the winnings ha ha

  24. tyson 11 years ago

sweden englnd btts looks a good bet @ 4/5 ;)

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Tyson, it’s on my list for tomorrow for sure.

  25. Robbie 11 years ago

Will MK dons and tranmere play strong enough sides? Thinking of over 1.5? possibly add queens park CHEERS

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Robbie, obviously games have now started but I’d expect them to play full-strength sides as a run in the FA Cup can be lucrative. Not sure who Tranmere have in next round if they get through but for MK Dons it’s a big tie with Wimbledon.

  26. Craig alves 11 years ago

haha hope not Mr mister but you never know, can see them scoring and Tranmere got few players unavailable and Braintree missing CB so should be goals, it’s on itv4 from half 7 but I’ll prob watch the darts and channel hop between the breaks

  27. Craig alves 11 years ago

on another note Frankie Dettori’s ‘positive test’ at longchampe, a just can’t see it, a smell shoite!!!

  28. Hughie 11 years ago

Morton to score 3 plus 5/6

  29. Mister Mr 11 years ago

Braintree have started well, pitch looks bumpy but they are up for this.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Mister Mr, it was the pitch I was worried about which is why I asked the question earlier.

  30. Luke 11 years ago

Pitch is worst I’ve ever known it.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Luke, not watching it because I’m trying to dig out some value for tomorrow but at least Tranmere are ahead.

  31. Craig alves 11 years ago

2 quick goals get ma overs up in MK Dons just before ht then Raith concede haha still need a Morton goal tae tho

  32. Craig alves 11 years ago

Morton 2 in 3 mins, now just Raith to take me into to the mora

  33. Craig alves 11 years ago

Raith 3-2 :) good for treble but really another 1 or 2, Tranmere should be safe

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Craig, you’re right. The sweat’s on with Raith, hopefully they’ll hang on.

  34. Andy w 11 years ago

Fantastic night for me, I had over 2.5,3.5,and4.5 goals in the Raith/Airdrie game.

    Also double of tranmere/Morton-1

Queens park done me out of 3rd line, profit would have been 4 figures if they had won.

PS, Not good for some of you guys, but I support Airdrie so glad they have scored at 89th minute equaliser, heres hoping they end up winning. Sorry guys.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Andy, it would have been a fine night if Raith had held on but it ended up a break even one for me thanks to Lincoln.

  35. Striker 11 years ago

Decent night for me, went with a large single on tranmere -1.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Striker, Tranmere and MK Dons were good bets on the handicaps.

  36. Striker 11 years ago

Yeah, was worried slightly about getting decent value out of MK Dons with -2, but wish i had gone for it as well! But hindsight a wonderful thing in betting.

  37. Craig alves 11 years ago

gutted bout Raith but got fiver on at 7/1 covering ma bet, Scotland and panama/Spain overs double the mora for me now, was hoping for 4-3 Raith but Wisny happening. Tranmere fan on Twitter had power anytime and ma burd phoned moaning and missed out 33/1 next gl

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Craig, nae luck with the Power cut but that’s one she owes you. Raith was a bummer but seem to have had a run of late goals going against me starting with Inverness and even York last night even though I didn’t have much on.

  38. al 11 years ago

    Andy w are student tipper

  39. Andy Greenan 11 years ago

Ray winson saved my day with his 7/1 on 3-0 :) had a look at tomorrows card and have no idea what to go for. What time are you gonna put your tips up? I have faith lol

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Andy, it’s a tough one tomorrow. Will be going big on Scotland but it’s tough elsewhere. Have basically picked out some tips but won’t be putting much on them. I’ll post them about 11am after I have another look at the lastest team news.

  40. al 11 years ago

Andy w are you student tipper I meant to say

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Al, I’m pretty sure he isn’t.

  41. Craig alves 11 years ago

ano Paul, even tweeted the guy and he said he’s that price for a reason. and she was just moaning about the wee man no going to sleep haha wouldve only put couple ae pound max nut still 33/1.
defo Scotland tomorrow and Spain game overs and will prob add in Germany Holland game too

  42. Andy w 11 years ago

No I am not student tipper. Y? Paul knows me, have exchanged e mails in the past etc, even got unlucky line of the week in the daily record last week through him.

  43. Craig alves 11 years ago

fancy van gerwin in the darts here 5-4 5-3 5-2 v Ted hankey

  44. Craig alves 11 years ago

hankey’s got pink eye, only put £1 singles on 5-2, 3, 4 van gerwin and under 7.5 legs. gonna get whitewashed

  45. Craig alves 11 years ago

Spain, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Brazil games all over 2.5 goals and Scotland win £2.91 on for £76.91
    that’s me done……for tonight

  46. roberskine 11 years ago

Looks like there might be some reasonable prices tonight, will see what Mr fixit recommends, but fancy Spain Argentina Brazil -1, Germany Holland btts and Scotland win

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Rob, tips will be up soon but anyone who knows the site is aware of my thoughts on friendlies. Anything goes to be honest.

  47. Danny 11 years ago

a never fancy Scotland too win they let down Scottish football fans time and time again with a lack of ability class skill pace and all round just not good enough I wouldnt back them at 1.50 home or away even against a team as poor as luxembourg mite sound unpatriotic but am afraid its the truth

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Danny, it’s the start of a new era and surely we’ll win. Anyway I have a theory. The only sides we beat under Levein had the initial L, Lithuania and Liechtenstein. My prediction is: Next year Scotland will play Libya in a friendly.

  48. roberskine 11 years ago

Fair enough Danny, I’m the same with England, can see Sweden doing a number on them

  49. Danny 11 years ago

fancy England Sweeden game to be a draw think it will be a boring 0-0 or an entertaining 2-2 either way its got draw written all over it

  50. roberskine 11 years ago

Don’t think England have it in them to score 2 midfield is shocking and the whole team is too slow

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Rob, Danny’s kinda of summed up the night whe he says it could be “a boring 0-0 or entertaining 2-2”. No one really knows with friendlies but I’d favour the latter.

    • Ibrox 11 years ago
