May 2: Dundee v Dundee Utd Betting Preview

MRF_SiteOnFire
THEY say don’t bet on derbies but tonight that advice goes out the window. I’m always reluctant about picking a winner when two arch rivals meet but I can’t see Dundee United stopping the rot at Dundee.
United will be relegated to the Scottish Championship if they don’t win and while it will cost their club money Dens fans will take great delight in twisting the knife.
It’s been a long time since the bragging rights were with the blue half and are 6-4 with William Hill and bet365 to pick up the points.
Dundee have won the last two meetings at Dens while both meetings at Tannadice finished 2-2. Paul Hartley’s men will feel they should have finished top six with the goal power of Kane Hemmings and Greg Stewart but conceded too many.
It’s a toss-up for first goal so let’s go with Hemmings to net at any time at 13-10 with bet365. Stewart is 85-40 at McBookie.
United have been in dire form with five successive defeats and there’s no sign of life in Mixu Paatelainen’s men – and their cause wont be helped with away fans taking up only half their allocation … and who can blame them.
If Dundee’s strikers have their shooting boots on this could be a convincing home win and I’m happy to consider them -1 at 4-1 with McBookie.
Dundee have netted 2+ in five of the last six derbies and are 7-5 with Coral to do so again.
It could be fiery especially if United decide to go down kicking and screaming. A red card in the match pays 21-10 at William Hill.
