CROATIA are last into action today and having won Group C would have expected an easier task than a meeting with Portugal.
Cristiano Ronaldo finally got off the mark to drag the Portuguese through in third place after a thrilling 3-3 draw with Hungary.
Ronaldo’s men drew all three of their group games while Croatia would have won all three barring a late collapse to draw 2-2 in their second tie with the Czech Republic.
But despite resting players and missing Real Madrid star Luka Modric they bounced back superbly to stun Spain. Modric and Mario Mandzukic should return but the latter hasn’t netted yet.
Modric scored a cracker against Switzerland and is 9-5 at McBookie to net again.
Croatia have looked one of the strongest sides in the tournament and will take heart from Hungary netting three against the Portuguese.
Two of those goals to be fair beat Rui Patricio with the aid of deflections but the shots were allowed to be hit. I can see both scoring here at a decent price of 23-20 with boylesports.
However, I fancy Croatia to win at a best 33-20 with sportingbet. Portugal are 21-10 with McBookie while the draw is the same price at Ladbrokes.
Having got off the mark with a double Ronaldo will be hungry for more goals and is 9-5 at McBookie to net at any time.
