ONE of my antepost tips is a Germany/Poland dual forecast in Group C. That's a winner if they finish in the top two in any order and both should get off to winning starts tomorrow.
First up it's Poland against Northern Ireland and the late game sees Germany take on Ukraine. Michael O'Neill's Northern Ireland side did superbly to qualify for finals for the first time in 34 years but could hardly have landed in a tougher group.
Germany are one of the tournament favourites, Poland are fancied to go well and Ukraine tough to beat.
Realistically one of the four best third places should be the Irish target and I'm on Poland at a decent price of 3-4 with Betfred.
The Poles have a world-class striker in Robert Lewandowski and overall are a decent side. Lewandowski was the hammer of the Scots in qualifying and I'm taking the Bayern Munich star to score first at 3-1 with McBookie and Ladbrokes and anytime at 21-20 with McBookie.
Kyle Lafferty hit seven for the Irish in qualifying and is 19-2 at 888sport to score first but a better bet could be another ex-Rangers star, skipper Steven Davis, to net at 9-1 with Stan James.
Germany have everything but a world-class striker but with the likes of Thomas Muller – who hit nine in qualifying – they have plenty of firepower.
Keeping clean sheets has been a problem with just two in 10 but they could blank out a low-scoring Ukraine side. Take the Germans at 4-6 with Coral and Muller to score first at 4-1 with McBookie even though he's never netted in five outings at the Euros. His country just need to tell him he's playing in the World Cup.
Ukraine will be looking to take point from their other two games and don't offer enough up front to worry the Germans even if the world champions concede too many.
Stats suggest both will score and overs with the last two meetings producing 11 goals but I'm not sure this time round. Greg Browning, master of the early goals, though will be pleased to read nine of the last 13 goals between the sides have been netted before half-time.
For that reason another bet to look at is first to be highest scoring half at 21-10 with bet365.
