THIS thread is for football chat – not tips – and there should be plenty of it in the lead-up to Sunday's Celtic-Rangers League Cup semi-final.

Prices on a Celtic victory and on the handicaps are falling and I can't see that trend being reversed. Rangers fans will back their side at up to 15-2 to win the game but neutrals will be on the Premiership leaders.

I can't see past Celtic but will be cautious because in this type of game anything can happen. Cards will be what I focus on and with emotions running so high off the pitch I can see at least one red being flashed at Hampden.

The FA Cup draw has been made and with so many unfashionable teams left do you think a lower-league team can go all the way? It's not overly exciting with Arsenal v Middlesbrough the top tie while Bradford's reward for beating Chelsea is a home clash with Sunderland or Fulham

You can talk about anything football-related here that is not a tip – so please use it. Have a rant about a ref decision or how your team played.

Keep it clean and don't be bigoted or racist.

I managed to get 7-2 for Lee McCulloch to be carded at 888sport yesterday. Within hours it had been cut to 5-2

scott allott celtic -3 @6-1 surely that will roll in and the price will drop very quickly come friday never mind sunday what you think mate

darran, I fully expect Celtic to win but am wary of predicting a thrashing. Rangers will set up to frustrate and contain and when teams do this Celtic sometimes struggle to break them down. That’s why Commons should be a must starter, he has the craft and quality to find openings. If Celtic score early they could well rack up a few mind u.
I’m looking at Celtic win to nil at 29-20 as my main bet and probably a couple of speculative punts on the handicaps

sunday will be decided by which celtic team turns up. if the fast flowing team that beat motherwell, Kilmarnock I think 3 maybe 4 -0 if the one that turned up in ross county a very drab 1-0 .

archie if delia is not aware of the importance of this game he must quit. patriotism is valid in both these teams a 1-0 or whatever wont do, celtic will want to tank rangers and this is their chance to do so they will be looking for their biggest win and with very litle else to play for i cant see what will be stopping them only delia not realising the importance of the fixture if im wrong well i dnt know

I picked out 7 games for todays action, all very short priced favourites around 1/4 – 2/7 in prices, one appears to of been voided, 5 came in ( including juventus getting an 89th minute goal ) but lost the cashout option for at least 60 mins of the action, trawled the net for the last Match which Bet365 had lost the feed on – Bala Town……….. who lost 1 nil. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh !! gutted. Not to worry, I shall dust myself off and go again when I’m ready.

Robert, a red looks a decent shout, it’s bound to be feisty

I’ve been starting with £10 and trying to build it up to £5000 by doing approx 1/5 shots on win/draw double chance and sometimes some in play bets.
The highest I have got to is £1100.
It takes 35 bets which at 1/5 seems very do-able however I dont seem to be having any luck at the moment!
Does anyone else do anything like this and have any pointers on what type of bets I could try?

I do a similar strategy involving either over 0.5 total match goals waiting 15 minutes into the game – if theres no goals, I check the in-play attempts on goal.
a 1/33 will rise to about 1/12 in 12-13 mins.
The trick is not to overreach but to pick them off one at a time. You also check on the head to head and last 6 match scoring conceding stats. I always place my bet expecting the home favourites to get the goal.
The furthest I’ve got is £1200 from £10 but often, if I don’t try to overreach or take a shortcut, I can get to around £100 after 3 or 4 days.
Everytime I reach each £50 milestone, I send £10 back to my bank.
Its very slow going for the first 3 or 4 days and don’t try to get to £100 in a hurry, do it steadily and play smart. Once you get past the £100, keep to the strategy. It does work, but you have to stick to the method – and don’t forget to research the game/form before you bet. Put no more than a double down at a time, as you get further one, drop back onto just singles.

nathan, I’ve edited out the tips site you mentioned – what you say is interesting but we only give free plugs to tipping sites who’d do the same for us.

Ok no probs, apologies. I never realised.

FYI Derby’s Johnny Russell is out for 4-6 weeks which is a big loss for us. Meanwhile George Thorne played for 45 mins with the U21’s midweek.

Cardiff is a tough place to go in the past for Derby and if I’m honest, past seasons, their team has been better than this current crop of players. As they’ve had a terrible record this past 7 or so games, it could be a great time to play them. Before we kick a ball on Saturday, Derby will have known the outcome of the 2 big matches involving top 6 sides, so as per the derby/Ipswich game, it could work in our favour.

I don’t think either team will keep a clean sheet.

    Thanks for the tips guys.
Darran I probably would start again before I reached the £5000 mark as getting to £1000 from £10 is pretty good going.
Nathan Ufton I will give that a try and see how I get on
