FOR the second night in a row I posted two Super Singles with one winner and one loser.

The first came in early with Sadio Mane scoring for Senegal but Real Sociedad not to lose went down as Barcelona won there for the first time since 2007.

My goals double was also a loser and anyone watching the Senegal match would have wondered how there wasn't a third goal after two in the opening 13 minutes.

Jordan's Aussie scorer tip was a winner but Greg's Nap was a goal short – but it definitely wasn't 0-0.

On Friday we're returning to league action and that's good to see after a difficult week of cup games.

In the Championship there's a big game between Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday and it looks tough to pick a winner. Bury travel to Port Vale in League One after ending their win drought with a 5-1 thumping of Peterborough and HullShaker is tipping Bury to continue their revival with 2+ goals while I like the look of over 2.5 match goals.

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich travel to Freiburg, in Spain it's Las Palmas v Deportivo and in France Nice head to lowly Bastia trying to get back on track after being knocked off the top last week but won't get easy on the island.

Both teams finished the year strongly and while Bayern will expect to win they are without key defender Jerome Boateng and possibly top scorer Robert Lewandowski. Both to score could be the call as has been the case in the laat two seasons.

And at AFCON it's Ivory Coast v DR Congo and Morocco v Togo.

Jordan has already tipped a Dutch over 2.5 goals double and while Top Oss feature he's not as confident as usual about the goal machines. Watch out for Greg and his Ligue 1 selections.

My focus at this time of the week is on my Saturday column and tips but I've posted a goals treble based mainly on stats. Nothing more can be said about Top Oss but as Jordan says one day they'll let us down.

I'm also on both to score at Twente v Heracles. Both teams are conceding and scoring plenty and this fixture tends to be an overs one. Complete the treble with Bury to score at Port Vale. James Vaughan hit four and looks decent value at 6-4 with Ladbrokes to score again.

On Tuesday I posted a Scottish Cup fivefold on five hot favourites that should land at evens and there will be more Scottish Cup bets tomorrow.

Quick heads-up for tomorrow as not sure I’ll have much time before the game…will put up more detail if I do…

    PORT VALE VS. BURY

So, The Mighty Shakers shake off the worst hoodoo in our clubs long history – 20 games without a win…unreal stuff.

The 5-1 win against The Posh might be a defining moment in our season and as I said last week, we’ve actually been unlucky in many of the more recent games and have scored goals throughout…just conceded more though ?

Brass is looking to start with the same 11 from Saturday’s game and our bizarre new signing Jermaine (Where’s me car) Pennant is not yet legal to play.

I wouldn’t back any WDW outcome here but I’m pretty confident in our ability to knock a couple past a Port Vale defence that has proved vulnerable at times this season.

Vale have Eagles and Guy possibly set to make debut apperances and also look to have loanee keeper Ryan Boot back between the sticks for a first start.

    Selection:

    BURY OVER 1.5 TGS…7/5
    ???

    Night Owl (In-play):

    BELFIELD VS. NOTRE DAME:

Just over half an hour gone hete and prices looking much more appealing than pre KO.

Not a league I’m too familiar with but low scoring games are a rareity with few under 3 goals.

    OVER 2.5 MGS…11/8
    ??

    Good luck.

Not many bets I wish I hadn’t bothered with but that was one of them…dull as dishwater and shoul have followed my hunch.

I thought Gregs nap was a loser – final score was 2-1 according to Futbol24 and Aberdeens twitter

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

It was a loser – I’ve edited it. My apologies.

  5. liamw 7 years ago

Some good looking friendlies around tomorrow….today now actually! Not sure I’ll have time to look in the morning so have picked these out…

    O2.5 mgls double pays 4/5:
    Nest-Sotra vs SK Brann
    FC Honka vs Klubi-04

    O2.5 mgls double pays 4/5:
Fc Thun v FC Le Mont
    Aalesund v Brattvag

    Quad pays 2.2ish/1

Aalesund and Brann matches certainly look worth a look for O1.5 fhgls and O3.5 mgls in play.

plenty more to look at as well….@matrix ?

    *****Friday’s Tips***

Was Frustrating to fall a goal short in the Ross county v Aberneen u20 match especially with it being 2-1 with 30 mins still to play bit that’s the way it goes sometimes

Have picked out two bets for Friday

    Strasbourg v Tours KO 7pm
    Niort v Amiens KO 7pm

Quite a few games look like they’ll manage 2 goals but these are the two I’ve gone with and because it’s France Ligue you often get a generous price! Most weeks you’ll find the majority of games in this league manage over 1.5 – it’s a case of avoiding the one or two matches that don’t

Back over 1.5 match goals double 21/20 (Ladbrokes) (NAP)

    Twente v Heracles KO 7pm

The hosts don’t lose many at home – they’ve lost just 3 of their last 19 in the league and have a decent scoring record having netted 2 or more in 13 of those matches ! Heracles aren’t too clever on their travels with most of their good work done at home – they don’t a enjoy a trip to Twente having lost 9 of their last 11 visits conceding at least two goals in 10 of those matches! Twente have suffered defeat in just two of the last 20 encounters! There’s not much between these two in the league but with Twente having home advantage and enjoying playing against Herecles, I’m taking them to score 2 again

Twente over 1.5 team goals 4/6

  8. HullShaker 7 years ago

    Night Owl 2:

    ARGENTINA U20 VS. PERU U20:

Thought this one kicked off at half-past but has just gone of at 00.15 so very brief reasoning but confidence high.

Could be goals here and Argentina’s young guns have put a minimum of 2 past Peru in all 4 of their last H2Hs.

    OVER 2.5 MGS…8/11
    ????

    Good luck ?

Evening Geo, not to cause offence but I just wonder why you post? Clicked on your username and read through your last 20 odd posts – every single one, bar none, is just like the one above.

Just don’t get it. I could understand if maybe there was one or two actual posts related to a bet but there isn’t…not one?

      Anyway, good luck.

Right oh – fair enough Geo. Is your mistake-spotting restricted to just this site or do you have other sites you like to ‘spot’ on?

Do you like to mix it up a bit – betting site one day then maybe mumsnet or something a bit more edgy the next night.

Which is your favourite site for spotting mistakes and what is the best mistake you’ve ever spotted?

Ivory Coast vs D.R Congo interestingly the last 9 h2h have seen both teams score with over 2.5 coming in the last 8. I know both teams have been struggling for goals but I can’t ignore the h2h and think the 5/4 for btts and the 9/4 for btts and over 2.5 is generous.

  22. obi wan cannoli 7 years ago

    Sydney FC v Adelaide United:
Tonight’s match is an interesting encounter in the A-League between this year’s likely champions Sydney, hosting the defending champions Adelaide (who currently sit equal bottom of the league with Mariners).

Sydney had an uncharacteristic dip against the Wanderers, but I’d be surprised to see it happen again. Lots of folks are predicting a tight draw on this one, but I just don’t see it. Sydney don’t give up too many goals, and the return of Brillante will help them. However Ryall is also missing in defense, and Matt Jurman has left the club. So there are holes starting to open in the only really formidable defensive unit in the country.

Elrich returns for Adelaide in defense, but La Rocca is still a minor doubt for this one, and will be missed in centre back if he isn’t cleared to play tonight. I’m the first to admit that a defensive pairing of Elrich and Regan is unlikely to give up too many goals, and Galekovic is still an impressive keeper (for the A-League).

However the likes of Ninkovic, Bobo, Holosko and Brosque with tear up and down the pitch of the Allianz for 90 minutes, and I can’t see it likely that Adelaide will hold them at bay again, as they did back in November.

    Tips:
    Alex Brosque (anytime goalscorer) @ 2.40 (2pt)
    Over 1.5 2nd half goals @ 1.83 (2pt)

    • obi wan cannoli 7 years ago

The first half was cagey as predicted, and things opened up in the second half, starting with Brosque as per usual. Both bets sailed in, nice & early in the second half.

      Alex Brosque (anytime goalscorer) @ 2.40 (2pt) – WON
      Over 1.5 2nd half goals @ 1.83 (2pt) – WON

Looking ahead to the A league game tomorrow between Sydney and Adelaide if you were to purely look at the league table and form then people would jump all over Sydney. However I’m not too sure with this one as adelaides performances if not all their results have picked up of late while Sydney were diabolical last time out against the wanderers. Recent home form also suggest that they don’t just drop points one match then start winning again, its been 2 or 3 matches in a row where they drop points. Also h2h they have managed just 2 wins in the last dozen matches when Adelaide have been the visitors. They could still easily win of course but I don’t think it will be the cakewalk it looks on paper. I think it will be a tight match , Therefore suggested bets are
Sydney vs Adelaide draw 3/1 (small stake)
    Under 2.5 match goals 6/5
Both prices are available at skybet and bet 365

    • sean567 7 years ago

Not overly surprised with the Sydney win, they are a better side obviously so the small gamble on the draw was a loser. Pleased that my main tip of unders came in especially after 2 quickfire goals. Well done to all the other winners

    Good afternoon guys

Looking ahead to the A league games

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Newcastle Jets
Sunday match is very exciting one and i am pretty confident home side will win this easily.
I’m taking this match so early because I think that the odds will decrease for home side.
Newcastle Jets has no place in the fight for the playoff
Bet To Consider – Western Sydney Wanderers to win

    Sydney Fc vs Adelaide United

I don’t see Adelaide scoring here. With only 4 goals away, against the strongest defence in the league ,Sydney has conceded only 7 goals so far and only 3 at home in 15 games speaks a lot.
Bet To Consider – Both Team to Score NO

Just looking at a few goal patterns (Crackpot theory) and noticed that Guingamp like to get a late first half goal.
Guingamp have been involved in a few games this season that have had goals at pretty good value with the last 6 all coming in at over 2.5, it reads like this(4,5,3,4,3,4).
Tomorrow at Rennes you can get over 1.5 at 2/5 not to bad for an acca bumper especially when Rennes last 6 away games featured goal stats like this 6,2,7,1,3,4 .
In fact Guingamp’s recent first goal times read like this, 40,11,42,49,66,20,32. I can see goals in this game and I’m backing Guingamp to score a goal before 54:00 @ 5/6.

  36. bafannajoe 7 years ago

Hey Mr F,,,having been a member of this page since the very early days, I have noticed many changes, mostly positive.. The SS being one of them.
In the early days there was many good value tips, singles, accas etc…put up by yourself and other contributors but nowadays it just seems to be tips for the ‘big hitters’ due to the odds of the teams tipped.
I, probably like most of the members on your page, am just an ordinary working man with a mortgage to pay and a family to support thus the ole disposable income isn’t what it once was.
Like many punters I prefer to bet on ‘trebles and accas’ we all look for a nice wee bit of value, don’t we ? I budget myself £20-30 at the weekend, not including midweek Euro matches but the ‘Top Tips’ in no way reflects this amount of stake money… The tips for this weekends Scottish Cup matches is a good example : 5 match acca @ 1/1 marathonbet, Hills is 0.64/1 and Skybet is 0.75/1…..only huge stakes on a bet like this would return anything of substance….
I feel the ordinary punters who where the foundation of this page are irrelevant nowadays as no one I know would place bets with such paltry odds.
If I remember correctly MrF did you not have tips in the past with decent priced accas and trebles similar to your SS, obviously you still put on several picks each day, as I look at the site every day because I am always interested in your choices.
Could I suggest, when the football fixtures are in our favour, that you source a treble and four team accas at odds of evens and above ??
I do understand you are a very busy man but I think something like this suggestion would be a very popular addition to the site…..
    Thoughts Please

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

I don’t think you’ve been following this forum as closely as you say…

Mr F does still post accas, especially on a Saturday – have you seen his ‘home’ and ‘away’ accas ?

He also often does a 3 and 4 way perm bet which is always at least odds of 20/1 or more…

Plus there’s lots of members on here who regularly post trebles and accas.. and some consistant winners

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Yeah as you say I not sure what he’s been looking at.
If anything I feel I sometimes put up too many bets and too many long shots but it’s difficult to please everyone.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Nothing’s changed – maybe you’re judging me on this quiet week with mostly cup games.
Also I can’t cater for one person. Tens of thousands of people visit the site every day so there has to be a mix.
Some want singles and others don’t and I appreciate that but most days there are trebles and much more at the weekends.

    • cockerspaniel 7 years ago

Mr F. Are you going to start doing your 4 draws on a weekend again ? i used to like doing one or two of yours combined with a couple of my own, i had half decent success rate with this.

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

to be fair, I also did like those draw perm bets too !

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I don’t mind bringing the draws back – they appear most weeks in the Record – but I might not put points on them.

    • bixieupnorth 7 years ago

can’t you post the record tips as well, or is that a problem with your employers potentially losing sales?

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

No I could. There aren’t too many differences between the two.
On a Saturday though I have almost a full day extra to look at tips for the site due to deadlines.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Yeah I’ll put up the draws from tomorrow.

    • cockerspaniel 7 years ago

      Gracias.

    • Jordan 7 years ago

Too many people chase the big money accas, and they don’t profit from it. I rarely tip a bet above EVS and without bragging, I’m one of the most consistent winners on this website. So often I see selections I’ve tipped that others snatch and try to make more money out of with other selections, and it doesn’t work.

    • cockerspaniel 7 years ago

Jordan i know what you mean but as bafannajoe says a lot of punters on here have not got loads of cash to bet on all the odds shots that are posted by most of the regulars,i happen to bet on a lot of the tips that are put up by the regulars and i also bet on some long shots as well but some punters just like to have a small punt on a long shot now and again.

I rarely stake anything higher than 5 points (£50).

    • cockerspaniel 7 years ago

And my last word on the matter is to tip a penalty and a sending off in the Brighton match tonight 12/1 @ skybet

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

      Personally I like doing both….

In particular I follow Jordan and Hullshaker, along with Mr F’s tips… some others as well of course and will always consider and follow a new tipster (here’s a nod to you Matrix)

But I do also like accas a lot… of course there’s far less chance of winning but when it’s a very low stake for a high return, it’s too tempting and they DO come in from time to time. I’ve had great success on IN PLAY goals accas… admittedly my run this month hasn’t been the best, but in November and December I made £1K and £500 profit respectively purely from doing this type of acca, so they do work.

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

Actually I got that wrong, made 1.6K in November.

Anyway I’ll keep posting my goals accas on here. there are more losers than winners, but the winners make up for the losers and then some. people can make their own mind up if they want to follow or not.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

As I said earlier there’s a mix of punters.
I totally understand someone who hasn’t got the staking power to win what they’d feel is a worthwhile sum on a single or double.
But it’s always better to win small than to lose.
Also it’s one reason why I advise building a betting bank. Most people over a period of time could save £500-£1000 then start betting more carefully.

Bafannajoe, probably a bad week for Trebles and above etc as its been a very limited card this week! Mr F does a fantastic job trying to cater for everyone – some want singles, some want big priced treble and above! Most days when their is a decent card he will post a treble or a 4 fold and certainly every Saturday he’ll put up 2 or three accumulators!

  39. matrix 7 years ago

    Morning,

Quite a lot to choose from today but not many games I’m interested in. The best game of today looks to be:

17:30 KO Aalesund vs. Brattvåg (NAP)
    over 1.5 fhg
    over 3.5 mg

Both teams seem to be playing attacking footbal wich should lead to both teams scoring and Aalesund outclassing Brattvåg in the end just like last year when it ended 3-1.
    ————————————————————————————————-
There’s also a friendly between Sarpsborg 08 and Ullensaker/Kisa in wich I think the price for over 2.5 goals is a bit generous

    16:00 KO Sarpsborg vs. Ullensaker

    over 2.5 goals 8/13

Typical. I even said to myself this morning, not having a bet on the Aussie game. Been having too many bets for the sake of it. I said in my head, right I would back over 1.5 Sydney goals and whilst I was tempted in-play I stuck to my guns and guess what they scored 2.

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

@craigyboy – that’s unlucky man, but I guess it’s better than just going for it every time and losing…

had some bad luck of late myself, get this, I have 3 accas in play all have green ticks bar 1 game… all that’s needed is one goal and I make £190… it’s 89 minutes and the losing team is awarded a penalty…

  67. mr. orange 7 years ago

Not really something I like tonight. NAC to win both halves is an option, but it is the first home game with their new manager.

    Dutch Eredivisie:

    Groningen v Vitesse (Saturday)

Both are attacking sides who are 5th and 6th on the list of most shots per game. Groningen leads the list of most shots conceded per game, so I think there is a big chance we see goals in this game. Groningen always have a goal or two in them and they are at home. Vitesse only failed to score in 2 games all season, away at Ajax and at home to PSV. They only kept 3 clean sheets this season, all against bottom half teams. BTTS is backable @ 1.72, but I will take the odds available for an extra goal.

    Over 2.5 match goals @ 1.91 with 888 / unibet

Excelsior v Go Ahead Eagles (Sunday)

A relegation battle in Rotterdam on Sunday. Excelsior can score goals, but can’t defend. They scored 2 and 3 goals against teams like Heracles, Groningen, AZ, Sparta and NEC, but only had 1 clean sheet all season. I can see Eagles conceding 2 or 3. Go Ahead have to start winning games and have nothing to lose. I think we will see an open game which should produce some goals.

    Over 2.5 match goals @ 1.91 with 888 / unibet

Wellington Phoenix v Brisbane roar and
    Perth glory vs Melbourne victory.
As nearly always in oz I’ve been looking at btts/ over 2.5 goals, and I fancy it for both these matches. Btts has came in 12 of perths last 13 matches and they’re usually good for a goal no matter the opposition. I fancy victory to get back on track with a win here and net at least twice to bring the bet in. The roar are another side that usually see lots of goals in they’re games and with the Phoenix finding a bit of home form I fancy this market here too. Suggested bets

    Hi all
Im looking at tomorrows card and am the first to admit im no expert but like to think i have a reasonable knowledge of the english game.
Tomorrow CRAWLEY host P’MOUTH and are currently 7/10 with boyles to score a goal which i thought looked generous.
Crawley have played 12 home games this season and have only failed to score once and currently have the 4th best home record in the league. They have also won their last 4 home games. Pompey sit 8th in the away form table having played 13 games and conceded 15 goals.
I would be grateful for some opinions on this but surely CRAWLEY +0.5 tgs @ 7/10 boyles looks really good value
    Thoughts anyone?

MORVANT CALEDONIA UNITED VS. W CONNECTION

Attenpting to get back into positive territory by the end of the month and hopefully connection can help by delivering some goals, sitting pretty at the top of the league they have scored 1,4,3,4,3,3 in their last 6 aways. The AH line is set at -1.0,-1.5 @ 1.8 and connection would have covered this on 5 of their last 6 mostly against better opposition than tonight. Will be able to get better odds inplay for the -1.5 on its own.

BARNECHEA VS. MALLECO UNIDO (22.00 KO):

Currently on over 8 corners in the Brazil u20 game. There were over 20 corners in the Flamenco u20 game last night as a standard to go by.

No real stats other than that but over 9 corners is currently 11/8 so pretty good odds in my eyes!

    Good luck if you follow!

Write up for the Baggies punts that I posted earlier today.

As I mentioned I had them tabbed up on the browser for a day or too and today their goals started to shorten after a small drift yesterday. While form over the last five doesn’t set these two far apart, home vs away over the same period sets a different tone. Sunderland are hurting badly in the injury department and have a few names at the AFCON cup, with David Moyes likely having to play the same XI that lost 3-1 to Stoke last time out, with a few changes made to their FA Cup exit at Turf Moor midweek with Defoe and O’Shea rested despite having to bring on their top scorer for the last 25 minutes to attempt their failed comeback. Now they are out of the FA Cup their next target is survival, which for me is unlike. Only four points on their travels this season, conceding in every game and 2+ in their last four on the road (3+ against Burnley and Swansea). They do well to gain a point here against a Baggies side who have 17 of their 29 points at home this season, winning four of their last five at home with their only loss against an ‘in-form’ Manchester United. In all four of those wins they’ve scored 3+, which to me spells bad news for the Mackems who played midweek.

In my opinion, Matt Phillips has been one of the most underrated players this season. Tony Pulis got a bargain for £6.5 million last summer, and he’s easily eclipsed that sum with 4 goals and 8 assists with plenty of games left to add. West Brom don’t have a player who scores week in/out, but Phillips plays a key part in their attack has scored twice in his last four outings (one FA Cup tie).

The reverse tie in Sunderland ended 1-1, but West Brom peppered the home goal all afternoon with 17 attempts to Sunderland’s 7, so I’d expect the same type of game, but this time a couple of goals for the Baggies, hopefully one for the Scot too.

Sunderland have lost 6 of their last 7 at the Hawthorns, conceding 2+ in five. They may score, but I don’t expect them to outscore West Brom.

Hmmm, funny antics afoot in T&T again? Connection match gone and that’ll be the 4th game in 3 weeks to go AWOL with no apparent reason/postponement at the last hour?

One more worth a look for small stakes…

COQUIMBO UNIDO VS. UNIÓN LA CALERA (23.00 KO):

Again, not going to trot out the stats but the only thing to put me off is the recent H2H finishing 1-0.

Discount that and you’d certainly think that a. the home side ought to be winning and b. they’ll likely concede doing so!

No real stats other than that but over 9 corners is currently 11/8 so pretty good odds in my eyes!

    Good luck if you follow!

9 in total so over 8 WINS, over 9 LOSE. Sorry folks :\

    Onwards and upwards:

    Waitakere United o1.5tg 4/6 Bet365

This has come in 16 out of the last 18 matches between the 2 sides. Pretty decent chance in my eyes!

    Thanks Robbie, you’re welcome.

Yeah Hull, team exact goals wasn’t my type of bet either until quite recently, but I have found them quite good where you fancy a BTTS but one team is a strong favourite. Odds for BTTS could be 4/5 or evens but the exact goal for the weaker side pays maybe 11/8 – 7/4, and you can often easily cover if they score a bit too early. Also had some success with a favourite to get exactly 1 fhgl – often the first goal doesn’t come till mid way thorugh the half, and you can cover the stake 5 minutes later.

Not sure Union la Calera are going to manage the one goal tho, here’s hoping!

    Swift work Mervin, well in!
