THERE wasn't much to shoot at on Wednesday but again the main men on the site posted a bunch of winners.

And it's not all about myself, Greg and Jordan – we encourage others such as HullShaker to get involved and the standard of tipping from you guys is excellent.

Last night my only top tip was a Top Treble – wins for Fiorentina and Juventus and over 2.5 goals at Barcelona. I have to admit I got lucky with Fiorentina who netted a 93rd-minute winner.

My members bet also won but the app daily double needed one more goal at Villarreal.

Greg posted two tips and two winners – over 3.5 goals at Sturm Graz and both to score at Bordeaux.

Jordan's pick was an interesting one – Levante to score inside 62 minutes and they managed it in about half the time.

So we move on to Thursday where we have third-placed Reading v QPR in the Championship and AC Milan v Torino in the Italian Cup. Two homes here could be popular.

In Spain Real Madrid take a 3-0 lead to Sevilla, Celta Vigo start at home 4-1 up on Valencia and Eibar also have a three-goal lead over Osasuna. For these games team news is vital although Real will want to maintain their record unbeaten run while having one eye on Sunday's return to Sevilla in the league.

There are a pile of friendlies to look at too so watch out for tips on the site throughout the day.

With the Spanish games so weighted in the favour of one side in each tie I'm leaving them out but I can't resist Reading who have featured as a Super Single a few times this season.

The price of just under evens possibly reflects the head-to-heads – as HullShaker pointed out Reading have lost just one of the last nine meetings – but on form everything points to an away win.

Reading have won nine out of 11 in the league while QPR have lost seven out of nine and already in the transfer window boss Ian Holloway has lost Sandro and Tjaronn Chery.

I thought about Reading to score 2+ but I don't see Rangers netting two so as the home win is the same price let's go with that.

Very impressed by the quality of tips yesterday. Goals were flying in everywhere! Well done to everyone putting up te winners.

There’s a friendly between Raufoss and Elverum tomorrow in wich I expect quite a few goals. These teams can easily score 2+ goals each and in earlier friendlies they have showed that too. Both teams will field some testplayers but that’s not a worry for me. The testplayers are mostly players from better clubs and will want to prove themselves. This game will be played in Raufosshallen wich is an indoor field. There always seem to be more goals in games played indoor.

Keep an eye out on this one. 17:00 KO
Norwegian friendly – Raufoss vs. Elverum
    Over 3.5 goals odds in-play on bet365

Best of luck with your bets everyone.

Here we go into the next round of the A-League, starting from tonight where we have rock bottom Adelaide (defending champions!) against a solid Melbourne City side.

    Adelaide United v Melbourne City:
Adelaide are well…. rank. Can barely defend to save themselves, and whilst teams in the A-League rarely keep a clean sheet… and the return of Carrusca is a big boost to their ranks… I’m just not 100% confident on them scoring here. I am fairly sure though that the loss of Tarek Elrich in defense is really going to hurt them tonight.

Melbourne City see the return of the dangerous livewire Brandan from suspension. With the attack at their disposal, City will almost certainly score. They will attack down the wings and I reckon the line is too low on team corners for me olde mates at Citeh!

    Tips:
    Melbourne City – over 4.5 team corners @ 1.65 (3PT)
    Melbourne City – over 1.5 team goals @ 1.83 (2PT)
    (bet365)

    • thetoe 7 years ago

I’m on this mate. ..long as melbournes finishing is better than last week it was rank. …gl

    • obi wan cannoli 7 years ago

      Melbourne City – over 4.5 team corners @ 1.65 (3PT) – WON
      Melbourne City – over 1.5 team goals @ 1.83 (2PT) – LOST

Break even for me today, between the higher stake win on corners, but loss on goals. Full credit to Jordan for playing on btts & over 2.5 and landing it. Bit bummed I lost this one, as it was looking good from the start.
      Ho hum, onto tomorrow.

How did doublechance get on with his 2nd attempt at 100 to 10000 or something like that? Can’t find his selections. Thanks.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Wasn’t on it but going by results I’d have thought it was a winner.

    • kyle b 7 years ago

He had the following selections stagger:

      Juventus DNB
      PSG Over 1.5 TG

Both winners so off the mark and hope he manages to go far with it. Rather skeptical whether this system can work but results speak volumes

    • stagger 7 years ago

Thanks very much kyle b and MrF.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

It’s not for everyone but then only those who like it should follow.

  4. Jordan 7 years ago

Good stuff last night Mr F, Greg and Hull. I’ve already posted the morning tip and promised a write up. Unsurprisingly Obi has also given his thoughts on this one already, and while I agree, I still think Adelaide will score. They had twice the attempts as the Victory had in their 2-0 loss, and if you looked at match stats, you’d think the score line was supposed to be the other way round. Melbourne City aren’t known for defensive prowess. Only 3 clean sheets in 18 road games, and 1 clean sheet in 12 trips to Adelaide. 9 of those 12 have seen both score and I’ll take the extra goal. This paid 10/11 when I posted yesterday but may have changed now.

    Adelaide/Melbourne City BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals @ 10/11 @ 365 – 3.3 points

    • obi wan cannoli 7 years ago

Fair call Jordan, I reckon you’re right, btw. The stats speak for themselves.

It’s the total lack of clinical finishing which continues to hurt the Reds this year. Something which Carrusca does bring to the table this round.

Best of luck mate, hopefully we both land winners. :)

Heading over to Mexico for a second Night Owl and 2 games kicking off at 01.00…

    POTROS UAEM VS. MURCIÉLAGOS

    and

    LOBOS BUAP VS. TAMPICO MADERO

The first of the games looks sound for BTTS with the most recent 3 H2Hs all getting the green light and plenty of the same in both team’s recent history – Potros’ last 6 in the run-in all saw both sides netting.

Lobos’ game looks marginally less convincing – bar the 2 most recent historic H2Hs they scream BTTS but are a long way back and are pretty much neglible.

Lobos’ own games saw plenty in the domestic campaign wheras someone must’ve hiddenTampico’s shooting boots!

    Smalll stakes:

    POTROS BTTS …11/10
    ???

    LOBOS BTTS…21/20
    ??

    BTTS DOUBLE…3.1/1

    Good luck ?

Great bet. I was on this with a few alterations (psg -1AH). They only scored 2 as opposed to 5 and 7 the other day.
Was a bit nervous for you at 1 nil.
I was wondering if when your stakes get massive you ever consider trixies or yankees on your bets so that if you are let down by odd goal somewhere then all is not lost or do you stick to straight 3/4/5 folds?

    • double chance 7 years ago

Great that you were on it @dom77 . What additional did on to your bet?

& of course. Sometimes I do single bets. Like for example when I got into the £1000’s last season I put £3K on just Real Madrid to win at home to return £4K. I will on some occasions leave some of the money built in the bank build to the side on some buts. So just encase it was a loser, they’re would be some money to continue with.

It’s an interesting discovery I made when I started to make 10’s of 1000’s. I started to notice that Double chance bets very rarely let me down, if ever. If you think about it. When you put money on a favourite to win in your accumulator, they very rarely actually lose and tend to draw. It makes it more bearable sitting trough your bets too. I hope to reach the £10K goal with this current attempt. Much better sooner than later as I want to complete it 3 times before the seasons are out

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

It would be great if you did make it this time and I also use double chance as a safety net.
On your next bet are you in any way concerned about Brighton not to lose at Preston?
In my eyes you could have picked a lot safer than that.

    • double chance 7 years ago

It’s funny you said that Mr Fix It. I am actually about 85% sure about Brighton. I do normally like to be 90% or more with this bank build. Others I was considering we’re Tottenham to win at home to West Brom or Atletico Madrid at home to Real Betis. I however don’t think Atlerico Madrid can be trusted at the moment and I do actually support them as my Spanish team. I feel Brighton have showed enough fight to be trusted on a double chance at odds of 3/10.

What would you recommend as a suggestion? I’m always open to ideas and input. Thanks

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

It’s your bet and your challenge. I’d hate to suggest a team and they go and let you down.
I was asking about Brighton only because in my opinion no away in the Championship is a cert.
However, they shouldn’t let you down.

    • dom77 7 years ago

      @double-chance
You make it sound so easy!
I tried something similar using south american teams. I was doing double chance/dnb for home teams that had unbeaten home records of around 20 games. Corinthians, The strongest and Rosario Central spring to mind.
However I would lose quite often and see some of these incredible runs come to and end. Often an early red card and my team would lose 1 nil.
For a while I genuinely believed I was cursed as some of the stats were astounding. It seemed like O was bringing these runs to an end.
The reason I was using SA teams was that the odds were way more generous than European odds.

  7. HullShaker 7 years ago

Looking ahead to the weekend and, as ever, plenty of value to be had in the lower leagues if you look under the right stones ?

Will put this one up now as going to be pushed for time – I think it’s a cracking little double and suspect prices will be a touch shorter come Saturday morning:

    HARROGATE TOWN VS. BPA
    DARLO VS. GLOUCESTER

The former is a West Riding derby with goals sewn throughout its H2H history whilst the latter sees a Darlington side who are scoring and haemorraging goals in equal measure!

Not going to put up any further stats or reasoning but I’m sweet as hell on this one.

    OVER 2.5 MGS DOUBLE…1.31/1
    ?????

    Add:

    BURY
    AIRBUS
    TNS

    and you’ve a fairly sturdy 5-fold paying a fraction under 6/1
    ???

Bit premature but a heads-up as know I’ll be pushed for time come the weekend ?

  8. HullShaker 7 years ago

Not the best of cards today and domestically the ‘main’ event is in the English second tier…

    READING VS. QPR:

Not a great deal to say about this one: QPR have once again lapsed into ‘mid-table obscurity at best’ mode whilst Reading are quietly going about their business and find themselves sitting pretty in 3rd place.

Prices (as mentioned by Nathan Upton last night) look tempting and whilst the 10/11 available for the home win appeals, I’m leaning towards the relative ‘insurance’ of Reading team goals – just in case The Hoops manage to sort their sh*t out!

The Royals are no mugs though and with 3-2-2-3-2 team goals scored in their last 5 straight home games, prices look a little on the generous side!

    Two selections to consider:

    OVER 1.5 READING TGS…10/11
    ???

    OVER 2.5 READING TGS…3/1
    ?

Best of luck with all bets ?

    • forshie 7 years ago

    Australia A league 850
    Adelaide v Melbourne cty

2 teams in horrible form meet here with both only mustering 1 win in their last 6 matches. Looking at league places and the fact most of city’s have been draws while most of adelaides have been defeats might see some folk side with the away side but I’m not so sure. The last 8 h2hs have seen 4 victories apiece. These 2 however rarely keep clean sheets and as I’ve mentioned before city are usually very reliable for corners.
    Both teams to score
    City over 5.5 corners
    Double pays 6/4 bet 365

    • sean567 7 years ago

1 corner short for the dbl. after backing btts/over 2.5 nearly every game for the last 2 years decided against it this morning. Schoolboy error. Well done to those who did

  11. amzie84 7 years ago

Hi, I’ve admired the posts from a far and have complete respect for all the posters and also Mr Fixit.

I tend to focus on the A League but tend to go for a few punty options.

Obviously A League game this morning and I do think there’s a good chance for a penalty (particularly given both teams will go for it and as Jordan and Obi have said there should be chances at each end and potentially a fiery affair).

    Bet 365

    Adelaide to score a pen – 9/1
    MC to score a pen – 7/1
    Adelaide to miss a pen – 23/1
    MC to miss a pen – 21/1

One point (£1 for me) on each.

The only other two bets from Sky’s request a bet for me are:

BTTS, 4+ corners each team and 20+ booking points for each team – 4.5/1 – 5 points

A goal in each half and 5+ corners each half – 4/1. 2.5 points

    Total staked: 11.5 points

Good luck and may the Australian goals, corners and cards gods be with us!

  12. boomshackle 7 years ago

I think Melbourne City have been disappointing in recent weeks after a solid start to the season and many of their players have taken a sad leaf out of the Luis Suarez school of cheating and diving. Seemingly more preoccupied with trying to con the referee rather than scoring goals and winning games.

As Jordan points out Adelaide were actually quite good against Victory and could consider themselves unlucky not to take something from that game.

While they may not win this morning, I won’t be surprised of Adelaide put in a performances and the bookies seem unsure too pricing City at 23/20 for the win when you would think a team 3rd in the table versus rock bottom would be overwhelming favourites.

I’m going to sit back and enjoy the game and place a small wager on a goal scorer in form with 3 in his 4.

    Tim Cahill ATGS 2/1

    Good luck :)

    • boomshackle 7 years ago

Bets a loser but no surprise to see Adelaide take the 3 points, City are truly struggling at the moment.

Also fancy goals in Vigo and Seville tonight – despite in reality there not being a lot to play for and there will likely be quite a few Madrid and Celta players rested Ronaldo, Aspas etc

  15. kierons 7 years ago

I was finding it hard to see where a goal might come from for adalaide as when I have watched them play this season there is just no cohesion up top, looking at the lineup I see they have dropped sergi which in his current form my new a blessing.

    • maccathered 7 years ago

Liverpool won 4 on the trot after the defeat to bournemouth and that defeat was down to bad goalkeeping not liverpool playing badly.

    • nazalus 7 years ago

What game were you watching Macca?? Players were NOT thinking about Sunday, they were trying their damned hardest to win against Southampton. They were abysmal last night, and as i have previously said on the thread last night,Man utd win @ 11/10 is a steal.Liverpool have lost their oomph,Klopp doesnt help SMILING when his team are doing sh*t on the field. So,as i always say to you, take off your redtinted specs & wake up.Stop trying to justify what your teams doing & just be honest, your going no-where this season, except MAYBE top 4…….At a push.

    • maccathered 7 years ago

Of course the players have sundays game on their minds, you could see they weren’t going full pelt they had most possession as they normally do but this is what liverpool do after a break if you think man utd are a steal then thats fair comment they are playing well but these games between man utd v liverpool nowadays tend to be dire affairs sundays game will probably end in a draw imo 0-0 or 1-1.

    • hampy 7 years ago

Zlatan didn’t do much at anfield mourihno calling on the fans to be the twelth man he’s not stupid liverpool always raise their game for big games and haven’t lost to a top 6 side for some considerable time now.So maybe due a loss

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I just thought Liverpool played poorly as Klopp admitted. Why wouldn’t they go for it in a semi-final?
If they were focused on Man Utd players would have been rested.
Also Sadio Mane looked as if he was badly missed.
I think Man Utd will on Sunday but I wouldn’t stake much on it.

The Middle East isn’t somewhere I spend a lot of time researching games but happened across one the other day that resulted in a most welcome Full House of selections.

Another one that stands out today as offering potential value kicks off at 16.30 in the Kuwait Cup…hooefully it’ll be more a case of Abu Dhabi do rather than Abu Dhabi don’t…

    AL QADSIA VS. BURGAN:

Al Qadsia sit a comfortable 3rd after 10 games and have seen just 1 defeat in this period to the team directly beneath them.

Goals are flowing consistently with 1-2-2-4-1-2-3-0-3-2 goals so far and you have to fancy the chances of a few more when you consider the opposition…

Burgan: 11 games played and a g/d of -29 sees them rooted to the foot of the table.

Goals conceded don’t paint a pretty picture and I suspect Burgan may be another team that apply ‘The Stevie Wonder Defence Strategy’.

The away side have conceded the following goals in their most recent games: 2-2-5-9-2-4-3-4-1-3-4.

The 2 previous H2Hs (2015/2016) saw 6 and 5 goals respectively…not too much to put me off goals agan today!

    Three selections to consider:

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…20/23
    ???
    OVER 3.5 MGS…4/6
    ???
    OVER 4.5 MGS…6/4
    ??

I did say Adelaide were better than their last result suggested and luckily they got the vital goal, but it was a sweat. Unlucky Obi I thought you would have been ok there.

    Adelaide/Melbourne City BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals @ 10/11 @ 365 – 3.3 points **WIN**

Tomorrow is the first Ossday of the year :) It’s quite tricky as obviously the winter break has come into play, so form could go out the window. However, many of you will know that Oss were a team to back for goals for the majority of the first half of their season. They play at home against Dordrecht, who had picked up some form before the break, but it was against teams in the lower half of the table. Oss lost their last game before the break away from home against 4th placed Volendam, but had a five game win-streak prior to that and had scored 2+ in 10 consecutive games before their loss against Volendam. Oss have scored 2+ in 8 of 9 at home, but they’ve also conceded 2+ at home in 7 of the 9. BTTS & Over 2.5 is very short @ 365 (8/13) so for me is not worth backing as a single but could be added to a double for those who like a risk. Dordrecht have conceded 2+ in 7 of 9 away from home this season and I’ll take my chances that it happens again against a team that was on the up before the break.

Double that up with league leaders Venlo to score at Cambuur. The home side are priced as the favourites here, most likely due to their excellent home form, undefeated in 8 of 9. However they haven’t kept a clean sheet at home all season, with Venlo boasting the best away record so far.

    Friday – Dutch Eerste – 7:00PM

FC Oss Over 1.5 Team Goals
Venlo To Score (Cambuur Clean Sheet – No)

    19/20 @ 365 – 4 points

Well done today. Have already looked at Oss stats. Anyone who loves goals should check out their last 10 or 12 games and drool.

    Afternoon gents

No friendlies today that really stood out however there is one match that has caught eye and it will be fully dependent on teams news

    Eupen v Shanghai SIPG 5pm

The Chinese money machine are in Qatar and and will play struggling Belgium side Eupen! This is the team managed by Andreas Villas Boas and they boost Hulk, Elkeson and latest recruit Oscar! It’s a friendly but I’d be keen to see lineups! If they are strong it could be worth backing them at 11/10

Will try and get team news closer to KO – if markets permit will try team goals

Celta Vigo v Valencia KO 6pm

I was going to pick this game as my NAP for goals it it’s a bit short – having looked at both sides and when they have been scoring and conceding I’ve picked two bets that gave us a bit of value

    Over 1.5 second half 4/5
Goal To be scored after 76 mins 5/6

    • Jordan 7 years ago

Trying to help you out here with team news, Greg. SIPG don’t have an official twitter account, their website doesn’t state they are playing today, and Eupen haven’t shared much on their feed either ?

  31. liamw 7 years ago

My in play bombed this morning, rubbish.

I’ll follow the regulars tonight, but ading one of my own. It’s in a similar vain to my recent efforts, using the exact goal markets (so far showing a small profit of 3 points for the month, hopefully that continues):

    Reading exactly 1 FHGL @ 13/8 (Coral)

If they score early and look likely to get another, I generally cover if it gives an even money win (where possible).

Posting early for the Friday night game in the A-League as I’ll be out all day today… may not get a chance to post again until tomorrow.

    Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar:
Now we have the in-form Melbourne team! Victory’s only absentee of note is Alan Baro (through suspension), but have a solid replacement in Nick Ansell. As stated last round, Victory are the only team within touching distance of league leaders Sydney. They’ve won their last 5 games in a row, and have been in imperious form against all teams.

Brisbane by contrast are stuttering, coming off two losses and a draw. Their lack of scoring has been a problem.. although they did find their scoring boots last match.. but were frankly just outplayed by Newcastle Jets.

    Tips:
    Besart Berisha (anytime goalscorer) @ 1.80 (2PT)
    Victory over 5.5 (team corners) @ 1.83 (3PT)

  76. HullShaker 7 years ago

Two 23.00 games to look at in the Sao Paulo Youth Cup but only one that holds any interest for me – Liams already mentioned this one and think he needs it for the second part of a double…

PONTE PRETA U20 VS. PARANÁ U20:

Into the 3rd round then and both teams have had a decent run-in so far with only 4 goals conceded between the 8 games they have played collectively; 1 for Ponte Preta and 3 for Parana.

Neither side has found goals particularly hard to come by and the ‘goals scored’ for both is as follows:

    Ponte Preta: 0-3-7-6

    Parana: 3-3-0-6

It should be a fairly tight encounter w1ith 2 reasonably well matched sides but I do think we will see goals.

I’m taking two selections here, the first is fairly rational whereas the second is for those amongst us who may be slightly unhinged…though it has a chance ?

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

      Copied from ‘tother thread:

      “Dutch Eredivisie:

      PEC Zwolle v Ajax

Poor Zwolle are in a relegation battle from the start of the season and have the worst defence in the league, conceding 34 goals in 17 games. I don’t think Zwolle fans are looking forward to this game when they see the line-up. Defenders Schenkeveld and Van Polen (captain) are suspended. Midfielder Holla is also suspended and one of their most experienced players Wout Brama has gone to Utrecht during the winter break. Ajax have the best shot stats in the league (home and away) and their best midfielder Ziyech was not selected (!) for Morocco in the Africa Cup squad. Ajax won the reverse fixture 5-1. I am quite sure Ajax are going to win this game. There is no value in the straight win or team goal markets, so I am backing them -1 on the asian handicap with the chance of a refund if they win by 1.

      Ajax -1 asian handicap @ 1.82 with Unibet / 888 (best available now @ 1.77 with BV)

      Heracles v Groningen

Big price for goals in this mid table clash in Almelo on Saturday night. I don’t why odds are so big, the only thing I can think of is because the reverse fixture was a 0-0 draw. Both teams averaging more than 2.5 goals a game. Besides the reverse fixture Heracles only failed to score against Ajax , Feyenoord and Utrecht. Groningen failed to score against Ajax, Heerenveen, PSV and Feyenoord, all quality sides. One interesting stat is that Heracles and Groningen are number 1 and 2 on the list of most shots conceded per game. I think both will score on Saturday which should lead to some goals. The 0-0 in September was a rare result in the list of H2H’s between these two, with 12 of the last 15 going over 2.5

      Over 2.5 match goals @ 1.87 with Unibet / 888″

Thanks Hull I must’ve looked back at the wrong thrad or something.

1-0 Ponte Preta – so far so good…

  82. HullShaker 7 years ago

I used to have an adage that I used almost religiously for years but for some reason have stopped doing it despite it having a fair bit of success.

It isn’t anything revolutionary but basically, the adge was “If the game CAN go to extra time, it WILL go to extra time”.

Obviously, it won’t always go to extra time but…

In essence, in any game that offers extra time/penalties, you will have two teams that have performed to a similar standard to reach that stage in a comp so straight away tbere is a bias towards a draw.

Then add in the additional factors such as: pressure of losing a high stakes game, going a goal down, players not committing to tackles, shots, etc due to the weighting of the game and possibility of making a wrong call that could get you dumped out, etc, etc.

All of these contribute, even subconsciously to (often safe/sterile) conditions that effectively play towards a draw.

Always a cracking price, either for the draw or, where offered, MOV = extra time or penalties which are usually well into double figures.

Amazing how often it comes in and 3/1 for the full time draw tonight!
