RANGERS showed their intent as they got the season off to a flier with a 6-2 crushing of Hibs in the Challenge Cup at Easter Road.

It was a real statement about how Mark Warburton was going to approach games and he's gone on to win his next four to make it a perfect start to his Ibrox managerial career.

Impressed bookies have cut Rangers to just 1-6 for the title and 1-12 to be promoted and McBookie have slashed odds from 12-1 to 6-1 for the Glasgow men to go through the league season unbeaten having been 33-1 a few weeks ago.

Hibs' start to the season was overshadowed by the Scott Allan transfer saga and after Rangers had a series of bids rejected for the midfielder he signed for Celtic.

Boss Alan Stubbs has had a verbal spat with Warburton and with all 52,000 tickets sold for the game despite live TV coverage I don't expect it to be dull.

Last season Hibs won twice at Ibrox in the regular season but it didn't matter a jot as Rangers beat their rivals in the play-offs.

I'm on Rangers this time and while Hibs have been weakened by Allan's departure they've signed Dylan McGeouch from Celtic and taken another midfielder Liam Henderson on loan from the Hoops and there's no doubt Henderson has quality.

Rangers are a best 8-13 at Ladbrokes and William Hill with Hibs 5-1 at Skybet and the draw 10-3 with McBookie.

I can't see Hibs capitulating the way they did at Easter Road but like the look of Gers -1 at 31-20 with boylesports.

Both sides should score and that pays 7-10 at Coral while over 2.5 is 4-6 at Skybet. A Rangers win and btts is a best 9-4 at Ladbrokes.

Kenny Miller has been Rangers' main man up front and is 5-1 at bet365 and McBookie to score first while Martyn Waghorn, who is on penalties, is 4-1 favourite with the same firms.

I correctly predicted a red card at Morton v St Mirren on Friday and while it won't be my Super Single I can see one at Ibrox today with a bit of bad feeling between the sides the last few weeks and of course Nathan Oduwa could be involved and the tricky wideman has been the subject of some rough treatment. The red is again 3-1 at William Hill.

RFC are averaging thirty shots on goal per game. Better than any team in the UK. Rangers to win the other team to score and for some reason continue to upset CFC fans.

Hibs will score today, the way the Rangers team will be set up to attack will leave them vulnerable on the counter. At Easter road a few weeks ago Hibs had 7 players missing.

5 of these players are back in contention and I believe that mcGeough plus Henderson equals a more balanced Hibs than Scott Allan alone. Henderson has the ability to unlock defended and while rangers have impressed, they still look shaky at the back.

I think Hibs will dominate the midfield and if they can keep tabs on the Rangers full backs by pushing up high and not allowing them the space that they can win.

Btts is as close as you will get to a certainty today and will also be on Hibs double chance and a small bet on the win. Believe over 1.5 Hibs team goals has a great chance too at tasty odds.

Why is it that if you tip against Rangers your chastised by their fans and branded a Celtic fan? Just stick to the tips.

Rangers have started the season well in contrast to hibs and have goal scorers all over the pitch. Hibs, in my opinion, have strengthened their team with Celtics Mcgeouch and Henderson (who I rate highly and better than Allan who they lost) but have started slowly. Both teams will score and while Rangers seem the likely winners I’ll be splitting my stakes on both teams to win and btts. 2/1 and 9/1 with bet365

Nice to see Scott Allan “the player that was going to The Rangers, put in a transfer request to force a move to them and kept saying he wanted to play for the team he supported” won’t be playing against us because that’s right he went to Celtic.

We said we wouldn’t sell to The Rangers and all credit to Stubbs and all at Hibernian who stood by what they promised to the fans,
They were prepared to let him leave at the end of the season for free
We didn’t need the money and we don’t need the money now,
Hibernian have got there books in order and are living well within their means
We now have a squad of players who want to play for Hibernian and are good enough to take us up

The first game of the season when we got beat we actually played very well in the first half even with one player trying to upset everyone at Easter Road
It was a cup match in a tournament the quite honestly Means nothing as the there are no rewards for winning it

Today’s game could shock people, Hibernian still have some work to do but we have the players and The Rangers certainly are not world beaters and I love seeing a team getting bigged up after a couple of games

    HIBERNIAN 11/2
    HIBERNIAN draw no bet 4/1
HIBERNIAN to score 2or more goals 3/1 NAP
    JASON CUMMINGS to score 13/5

Hamish75 lol nothing soor about it, gone are the days when I get upset about a squad of overpaid players who moan about too many games,
It’s just facts and just shows how quick a player can change his mind even when it’s his boyhood club,
He had the choice to leave for free

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Johnb, I’ll be first to congratulate you if Hibs win but you’re a fan and you’re biased and you’re not tipping logically.
As far as Scott Allan is concerned why wouldn’t he join the current champions who have a chance of Champions League football.
It’s like asking a QPR fan: QPR or Chelsea?
It doesn’t matter who he supports – this is career and he should be allowed to get on with it.
And also you have to remember Hibs stopped him moving to Rangers before Celtic came in or he’d be there.

Betting with your heart will never win you money johnb, of all people I never thought u would be 1 of them, actually sit back and look at the nonsense you are writing on hear, persuading people to bet hibs, if his win I will be on hear saying well played boys with your tips, I expect the same when rangers win!!

After all the bi*chy comments I’ve read, I’ll just go with over 2.5 and let whatever team that will win to win

  24. Johnb 9 years ago

Lol just shows you don’t know me Baz otherwise you would know I never back with the heart, I just back the best bets of the day and The Rangers won’t be able to handle our pace
But as with Racing the best team doesn’t always win and you always need luck
