PREMIER LEAGUE action returned with Arsenal beating Leicester 4-3 in a thriller last night and it's good to have it back.

My title tips Man City are in action in tonight's live game against promoted Brighton and will be heavily backed to win and by more than one.

Defending champions Chelsea, whose boss Antonio Conte says they can't win it again after a lack of transfer activity, should still beat Burnley but I'm not as confident about them or even Liverpool at Watford with the Phillipe Coutinho situation to be resolved.

I've posted a separate preview on the Scottish games and added some thoughts on the English card. Yesterday put up reasoning for the both to score trebles – and there are loads of other posts on the site.

Last night Celtic beat my Super Single and over 2.5 goals treble and Brendan Rodgers has decided he needs a new striker after all. My two tips on the Arsenal game were correct though – Alexandre Lacazette to score and Arsenal and both to score.

Well done to all the winners including Greg who just loves Fridays as much as the Boomtown Rats hate Mondays.

Just a huge card to go at on Saturday and for those UK game-starved punters who’ve laid of betting it’s all to easy to go mad – every game looks like it’ll be a cracker but sure as eggs are eggs, they won’t be!

I’m sticking to two games whose teams have already established something of a line in the sand…

    DARLO VS. ALFRETON
    NORTH FERRIBY VS. BRACKLEY

    OVER 2.5 MGS DOUBLE…1.61/1
    ????

    Best of luck ?

I was burned like many by Young Boys midweek which was certainly a baptism of fire as I ease back into the new football season. I’m going to take it easy with my stakes until some clearer form-lines start to develop but it’s time to get back on the saddle.

(No write up for City – they really ought to outplay Brighton and looked ominous in pre-season)

Ebbsfleet United are a newly promoted side that have started life in the National League in positive fashion. Their opening 2-2 draw at Guiseley was an unlucky one. Fleet were said to have absolutely dominated the game, conceding to a fortunate rebound and wicked deflection and, according to their manager, squandered ’10 to 15 good chances to score more goals’. In midweek, a cagey start against Maidstone did not prevent them running out 2-0 winners.

Fleet are backed by Kuwaiti owners who pulled them out of debt and they haven’t been shy in the transfer market either. Luke Coulson was brought in from League 2 Barnet, who had signed him following impressive early season form for Eastleigh in this division. In 29 year old Myles Weston they brought in a pacey wide player who has significant experience of league football, including good stints at Brentford and most recently at Wycombe.

Coulson in particular hit the ground running. He had a hand in creating both goals at Guiseley before breaking the deadlock against Maidstone with a long range drive. Young striker Darren McQueen, 18 goals in all competitions last season, has already bagged a couple and the Fleet manager has been left rueing the fact that they have failed to take maximum points from their opening games.

Fleet welcome AFC Fylde, a side promoted from the Northern half of the tier below in a meeting of two ambitious non-league sides. Fylde were a favourite for site regulars last season and, for all their gifts going forward, they often failed to keep their sheets clean. There has been a real turnover of players this summer and, though they have made good signings of their own, the manager is anticipating that his side will need time to gel.

They have, however, kept ahold of prolific scorer Danny Rowe and brought in Jack Muldoon (key figure in Lincoln’s promotion campaign last season) to lead the line beside him. By all accounts, it appears their two games so far this season could have seen plenty more goals (2-2 and 1-1) and I think there’s a chance we may see some today. My confidence, however, leans towards Ebbsfleet to do well against a Fylde side with a long way to travel.

Watford win are you mad???Liverpool should trounce Watford with or without Coutihno.Salah and Mane and firmihno should be far to much for watford.Coutihno is replacable its not as if he is Luis suarez,if he goes he goes he wont be missed as we have cover for him anyway.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

Watford have signing Derby’s Will Hughes. Will Hughes’s dream team is Liverpool – he’s made no scret of his desire to play for them. Yes, Watford should be being beaten in this one but I wonder if Hughes is gonna wanna make Liverpool remember him? I would if I were him, it’s essentially his ” audition “.

    • micky belfast 7 years ago

MACCATHERD its a punt. I jus think WATFORD will get into them silva is a good manager an he will have his homewrk done on liverpool his hull team bait them against the odds las year now he has a better squad to do it. Liverpool are dodgy at the back with deeney an gray to great old sckool strikers will give the pool a hard time an this coutinho saga hanging over LIVERPOOL an 1eye on champions league in couple days WATFORD will do doubt rattle them.

    • maccathered 7 years ago

Nah Watford should get beat today, silva proved hes not that good with the form Hull showed and he is taking on a very good Liverpool side.Like i have stated Liverpool have managed well without Coutihno and have had a better pre-season than Watford so should be sharper,of course i am biased but for me Liverpool should be challenging for the title and with the players Liverpool have bought and the youngsters coming through the ranks there should be an improvement on last season as Klopp now has a plan b against the lesser teams.

    • handyman22 7 years ago

Wow I certainly haven’t missed these Liverpool fans talking out their arse! Challenging for the title nearly fell off my chair when I heard that hahaha

    • wax 7 years ago

Come on now handyman22 . There’s no need for that .New signings like Robertson and Solanke would turn any team into title challengers.

  6. nathanufton 7 years ago

My brazil bet came in on 85 mins, a 1 nil is still a win.

I also dropped that on with an overs 9 corners, that 10th came in in injurytime, I how have Villa Nova unders 2.5 tmg’s 1/2 and under 9 corners ( 2/1) in that match. it’s 0-0 on score and 0-2 on the corners count. To make up my 5 way acca, I have America Mg down for a win at 1/2.

Cashout offered is £109 from £10, with 2 components settled, 2 looking good ( although villa nova have just scored ) and a ball yet to be kicked in the America MG match. Cashout just dropped to £89.

    Will keep you posted.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

Villa nova goal scrubbed, cashout at £113.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

With 4 components in ( Villa nova game had 1 goal and just 4 corners ) – and America MG 1 nil up, cashout is currently at 250 of 288 max. 68% possession for, winning the corners race, the attacks, shots, all point to America MG winning this game. They’re now 1/9 for the win.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

Cha-Ching…. 1 nil America MG, so that’s a nice little 27.8/1 5-way home and dry.

  14. nathanufton 7 years ago

Just been looking around this days threads and I’m seeing some stuff I like.

The stuff that jumps out at me are: ( respect to the various members that have thrown them up ).

    Sturm Graz win
    Darlington win
    Man City win
    Ebbsfleet to score

Those are the ones that have grabbed my attention. I know that this week is a bit hit n’ miss since we don’t have a lot of past matches/form to go on, but sometimes…. that is the beauty of it.

Just a few days back ( Tuesday ? ) I came within a nats whisker of landing a 75/1 £100 acca. Motherwell @ 13/5 were my only failed component on a 6 way. Stats in-play kept me in the bet right up until the final whistle and Burton giving me one of 2 required goals with 9 mins left gave me a cashout option of around £350 which I never took. Someone on here commented that Motherwell notched the winner in the 3rd minute of extra time……. Baaaa HUMBUG !!

Last night I had a cracker of a bet land. 3 matches, 3 win results and 2 of them overs corners ( made it in injurytime ) and an unders corners that made it with 4 on the board and 4 as a cushion. America MG win brought up the win in the 5th part for a
    27.8/1 acca.

I’m on the hunt for great value and most importantly – CONSISTENCY !!

That’s what makes this site so damn great, and I think the bookies have dropped a b*llock !!! It involves my beloved Derby. We’re not massive favourites to win at home to Wolves, but we are 13/10 or there abouts to grab the spoils. BUT, I think there is better value to be had.
Midweek, Derby fielded a 2nd string BUT decent starting 11 away to Grimsby, I tipped the win at 3/4 but most people ignored. We got a goal on 6 mins – Keogh again ( same scorer on the same tie last year ). on 19 mins, the ref abandoned the game.
Everyone else in that competition played out a full 90 mins. Derby didn’t. We had 20 mins of looking at who is who and although we still have to play this fixture, we are up for a scrap in this seasons promotion hunt. It was persisting it down on Tuesday and the Rams wanted to carry on. Darn weather.

Anyway: More value ……. Todays match Derby over 1.5 team goals with bet365 pays 13/8 !!!!!! Reasoning ? Twofold, we know Wolves can score, they’ve got some new faces and are a different animal to last year, but I still think we should be taking all the points. A 1 nil won’t cut it for the rams. Often last year, we either chased a game from a goal down OR took the foot off the gas when we’d grabbed the opener. If we want a top 6 finish, we’ve got to be putting a couple of goals on the board week in week out.
The scores between Derby and Wolves last season? 3-1 win at the I=pro and 3-2 win away at Molyneaux. 6 points, 6 goals for, 3 conceded.

We’ve got Martin back, our midfield is a bit more defensively organised and now a couple of faces have left to balance the books, the midfield should feel a bit of pressure taken off them because of less competition for a stating 11 slot. On paper, our attacking options – even on the bench is enough to sway a game.

Derby 2 or more goals? i’ll be taking that all day long.

Best of luck with your bets guys.

    • richb20806 7 years ago

I think you may find that Wolves are simply a different animal than in recent years. We play a lot of possession football and are hard to break down. Our last 4 have been 1 nil victories.

This one will be 1-nil either way or a 1-1 draw.

I’d be very shocked if you scored 2. Remember we silenced Boro last week who are most peoples tips to win the league.

Wolves are being underestimated this season.

    Morning gents

Arsenal made me sweat last night but got there in the end to being in my NAP with Le Harve

It’s business as usual in the UK – sticking to Scotland though

    Montrose v Stenhousmuir

Been no shortage of goals so far this season from these two – 9 of the 10 matches these two have played have ended over 2.5 and whilst a good number of these were heavy defeats in cup games, when they’ve played teams at their level and seen goals for and against! This looks like another BTTS and over 2.5 / surprised the bookies have this near evens

Back over 2.5 match goals 9/10 (Marathon Bet) ( NAP)

    **************************

The season may be young but already a good few teams from the Scottish leagues standing out for goals – three I like the look of

    Clyde v Annan
    Ayr v Forfar
    Stirling v Berwick

Over 2.5 match goals treble 3/1

    *************************

    St Johnstone v Motherwell

Really surprised the bookies have Motherwell priced up at 4/1 for this! They’ve performed well against Rangers and knocked out Ross County out during the week – double chance at 11/10 look s very appealing! This is a fixture that I’ve noticed always has 2-3 match goals and having looked into it a bit further I couldnt be more right. 13 of the last 15 meetings have seen 2-3 match goals scored

Taking that to happen again today

    Back 2-3 match goals 19/20

    • nate pesh 7 years ago

Greg 2-3 match goals is EVENS with bet365

There is some value in the Dutch league tonight:

PSV Eindhoven vs. AZ Alkmaar (17:30)

PSV face AZ Alkmaar in their first league match of the new season.
PSV has not been great to say the least, getting kicked out of the UEFA league qualifiers by Osijek losing 2-0 on aggregate.

In their last 5 matches PSV only managed to score 1 goal. They lost 3 and had 2 scoreless draws in these games.

AZ Alkmaar have better pre-season results: they scored 15 goals in the last 5 games getting 3 wins.

I will be on the double chance:

    Rangers v Hibernian
I don’t know much about Rangers, I don’t worry about other teams as I concentrate on Hibernian as there is more than enough money to be won on Hibs bets as already proved
So without knowing too much about Rangers all I can say is I wasn’t impressed with the Motherwell game, they looked poor defensively, couldn’t handle crosses or players running at the defence and I couldn’t see one player that would get in our team,
As for Hibernian, where do I start, we look solid at the back, we started slowly against Patrick Thistle which we can’t afford to do again, after the first 10 mins it was business as usual, we dominated as we have in all our games, it’s not just the players who start it’s everyone in the squad that have upped their game, everyone looks much fitter, they don’t stop from start to finish, we pass the ball about well, the players work hard off the ball and we are finishing our chances which has been a problem the last couple of years
I did say I thought Hibernian were the second best team in Scotland, I still feel that but it’s not going to be easy in our first season back, there will be some hard games and we won’t always be allowed to play the way we want
Ibrox has always been a hard ground to go to and it won’t be any different today but I believe in my team, I see them first hand and I know what they are capable off which is why I had a flutter on us to win the league, shocks happen in every sport so who knows, by the Hibernian were 500/1 but now 250/1

Like I said earlier in the week I have already backed Hibernian at 5/1, over 1.5 Hibernian goals at 11/4 and Simon Murray to score at 12/5
Since then I have also had a bet on over 2.5 Hibernian goals 12/1 and Simon Murray two goals at 20/1

    • kirantotti365 7 years ago

      awesome tipping sir

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Great tipping with Hibs – I didn’t think they’d lose and got a bit of stick on Twitter from Rangers fans when I went for draw and btts.
      They’d take that now.
Hibs can’t win the league though.

    • bigpika 7 years ago

is anyone thinking they can win it? lol

    • Johnb 7 years ago

      Mr F, neither could Leicester

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I know but there were no outstanding teams in the league that season – in Scotland there is one dominant team.
If Hibs finish top four that’s a good achievement but Celtic are guaranteed first place.

    • bigpika 7 years ago

thought these were a bit crazy. fair play lol

    Derby team news:

    Carson
    Wisdom/Keogh/Davis/Forsyth
    Butterfield/Huddlestone/Johnson
    Russell/Martin/Weimann

its the same 11 that faced Sunderland last week.

I’m still confident we’ll grab a brace and land my choice bet of over 1.5 derby goals for a 13/8. Last season, both times we faced Wolves, we won 3-1 at home and 3-2 away. Wolves do have the capability to score against us, given last years 2 matches between the sides but with very little else to go on regards stats and form, I think home advantage could be the extra 5% we need to get the desired result. My only worry is that we’re sacrificing the midfield – front 3 linkage in favour of more rearguard resolution. I’d be happy with a win to nil but if I’m honest and I had to pick a likely scoreline – 2-1 the rams. Martin on the scoresheet.

P.s. I went all in on the Liverpool win at 4/7 – £280 …. cashout currently at £396 with 6 mins left. Saturdays wouldn’t be Saturdays without me biting my nails down to my elbows.

I have a dream sheet shop £5 acca ( you never know ), I also have 2 other speculative acca’s taken online £10 a pop.

Best of luck guys, lets spank the bookies today.

nb, think i’m a pretty fair minded guy but jack should never of been sent off it was dorrans that tackled, stokes and mcgeoch should never of finished the game on the park, absolutely shocking refereeing yet again.

doesn’t take away from the fact that rangers lost their discipline, were poor in general and pedros substitutions and general tactics are dubious at best, I remain to be convinced hes the man for the job time will tell as always……………..

A single bet for tonight comes from the MLS. I am going for a home win for Toronto and under 4.5 goals which pays 11/10 at Skybet. You can back them just to win but odds then get slashed to 8/13. A few reasons behind this bet one being form and the other being the teams impressive home record. They have won 8 drawn 3 and lost 0 which is brilliant compared to timbers 3 wins on the road. Granted Timbers are unbeaten in 3 but i just cannot see them getting anything from this game. Timbers also have up to 7 players classed as doubtful for this game which can only add to there uphill struggle to get anything from the game. Gl all

Evening gents. One winner and one loser today with Accrington scoring before their 50:00, but Colchester didn’t net till the 65th.

Onto MLS action where we have a huge card and hoping to grab some value. Colorado head to Texas to face a Dallas side who have only kept one clean sheet in their last 13 MLS matches. Colorado are in similar waters have only kept one clean sheet in their last 12 matches, and yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this season. However, the Rapids have scored in 12 of their last 14 trips to Dallas, and can see them threatening tonight.

This game should see goals and hoping both teams contribute.

    Ebbsfleet To Score

    Double @ 8/11 (Coral, Sunbets) ///WIN//
    __________________________

    That’s 5 winners out of 5 for a full house at odds of 8/11, 21/20, 17/20, 4/5 and 15/4 ;)

Happy to be back, and especially happy to see the Ebbsfleet game (sort of) go as anticipated as that’s where most of the time went.

    Well done all with winners!

Quick one. Massive derby in Krakow Poland today. This is always a fiesty match and the 2 stadiums are just a stone’s throw away in Krakow.

Great history of btts in this derby and this again can be backed at 1.80. both teams will go for this and Cracovia need points and I reckon they will score against Wisła who have conceded 4 Goals in 4 matches and Wisła should get on the score sheet being at home.

    Austria Bundesliga

Sturm Graz v Wolfsberger Saturday 5.30 pm

Graz are one of the top teams in the Bundesliga and in my opinion pose the main threat to serial winners Red Bull Salzburg this season. They have started with two 3-2 wins and face a Wolfberger team that don’t score/concede many.
Wolfberger’s first two games ended in a one nil defeat (Mattersburg) and a one nil win (Altach). However none of these teams are of the quality of tomorrow’s opponents and the last time they went to Sturm Graz in April they lost 4-0,
the season before 3-0. In fact they haven’t scored at Graz on their last five visits, losing all five. They are also missing defender Zundel who is suspended.
Everything points to Graz goals here but 4/6 for over 1.5 tg looks a little short.
One interesting fact is that Graz have gone 24 consecutive matches without a draw. If that trend continues it will either be a Sturm Graz victory tomorrow or a big upset with Wolfsberger winning.
I’m going for a Graz win but 8/13 is too short so I’m taking a chance on the handicap.

    Sturm Graz -1 AH 2.050 (already down from 2.200) Bet365 10 points

You can usually rely on him for some late night loot in some obscure outpost somewhere..
I’m disappointed he hasn’t covered the Falkland island division 3 north yet, but I’m sure it’s on his radar.
