THERE is a real title battle developing in the Premiership after Aberdeen closed to within one point of Celtic by winning at Partick Thistle on Tuesday.
The Dons should follow up by beating a Kilmarnock side who have lost three in a row in the league and failed to score since Lee Clark took charge.
Aberdeen have only kept one clean sheet in six but are pretty short to win at 2-5 with McBookie so consider them to win to nil at 6-5 with the Scots firm.
In the absence of top scorer Adam Rooney new boy Simon Church has come to the rescue with four goals in six games and is 3-1 with bet365 to break the deadlock. Ireland call-up Jonny Hayes will be buzzing and is worth a look at 9-5 with McBookie to net at any time.
Celtic may be motivated by the thought of a Scottish Cup semi with Rangers and should beat a Jags side who won’t be as refreshed after their midweek battle.
Parts of the Firhill pitch still looked like a links golf course in summer but apparently was better than it came across on the box. I’ll risk Celtic to win at 2-5 with Ladbrokes but they’re going nowhere near the top tips. Leigh Griffiths continues to find the net and is 13-5 at Paddy Power to bag the opener.
Hearts have won at Dens Park earlier this season and will do so again if Dundee play as they did last week against Rangers. The Jambos have won three in a row without conceding and are 6-4 at William Hill.
In the Championship Falkirk can go five points clear of third-placed Hibs by winning at Dumbarton. Hibs lost there 3-2 recently but the Bairns have beaten the Sons three times this season – including 5-0 away.
In League One I’m going for goals at Ayr v Dunfermline and Stenny v Peterhead even though the Blue Toon are without leading scorer Rory McAllister. An over 2.5 goals double pays 6-4 at William Hill.
Bets to Consider
Aberdeen to win to nil
Church to score first
Griffiths to score first
Over 2.5 goals double at Ayr and Stenny
