IT was two points lost for JohnB on Monday so March's profit is now 18.43 points and all attention turns to the Cheltenham Festival from Tuesday onwards.
JohnB says: “I will be posting a selection for every race in case anyone wants to follow or for the place pot which is the first six races and I am aiming to end the four days in profit after last year's small loss. I will also be posting my main tips as usual.
“Cheltenham is a left handed track which is undulating and fences are quite stiff. The last half mile is uphill and horses who race prominently often fare well on the chase course.
“The hurdles course has just two flights in the last six furlongs which means there is more emphasis on stamina than hurdling. Racing starts at 1:30pm with the famous Cheltenham Roar.”

In December 2020 we sadly 
Skybet doing money back in first race up to £25 so I’m going to stick £25 on L’ami Serge with them and do Douvan in a £5 trixie with Faugheen and Annie Power at the bookies so should hopefully lock in profit one way or the other.

HORSE TIP
As regulars will know I very rarely put up a tip for a horse as I usually just follow football but one of my friends has told me about a horse tomorrow and has advised me to back it each way. The horse is Arctic Fire on the 3:20 @ Cheltenham. The price is currently 20/1 with a few bookies but price is beginning to shorten with Hills who are now 12/1. You get 1/4 odds for 1,2,3 so basically 4/1 a place. Only 8 horses running.
Remember it’s a gamble. I have no idea how good or bad this horse may be but feel free if you fancy a flutter.

Annie power didn’t stay in last year’s world hurdle even with the mares allowance.

1 horse i have seen tipped fair bit on here is Very Wood. However, there has only been 1 winner of this since 1989 which has been a 5 or 6 year old. So beware. I do feel it has a good chance, but 1 winner in 25 years is quite a convincing trend.

One mistake most punters make at Cheltenham is not listening to Willie Mullins
i listened to him in 2008 when he said Cousin Vinnie will win the champion bumper and he did at 12/1
He has since bigged up horses Briar Hill, Champagne Fever, Vautour and Faugheen
this year he says the best he has ever had is DOUVAN
My opinion is Douvan is a better jumper than Vautour who won the supreme last year because he was simply too fast for them although he didnt hurdle too well,
Douvan is a better hurdler but the icing on the cake was Willie Mullins comment saying theres no doubt Douvan is quicker than Vautour
Lami Serge is a good horse but can a good horse beat the best Mullins has ever had
just remember Vautour was the standout performance last year

Its doubtful that Annie Power will run in both the Mares and World hurdle but you never know because the mares is weak
also its the weakest World hurdle for a while and even if Annie doesnt run we still have Briar Hill

Although I’d have doubled my winnings with an Annie win I at least got cheered up when I realised it was Mullins second horse that won the race bringing home the 7/1 Mullins to win 4 races or more.
So sorry for every punter. There was millions riding on that. I’m sure that jockey wont go without tonight. I’m sure the bookies will be queuing up to give him a few presents. Some would call it a freak accident and maybe it was but its very dodgy. The horse had dug in and was away all it needed was a steady of the ship but it just kept getting quicker and quicker.

Cause of causes was one of my main bets and topped off a great day, if Annie would have won it would have been the best day ever at cheltenham for me, also had horizontal speed ew in the last, thought it would have maybe won but for the slight mistake at the last, but all in all it means I am playing with the bookies money so happy days.
A few things to note, mullins horses are hot if they weren’t already, hendersons horses still seem to be lagging, wouldn’t touch any Nichols horses in a chase and overall I think the irish have the edge this year

What do you make of TAGLIATTELLE in the coral cup?
I had it down to 2 using my stats/trends and a bit of gut instinct with greatwood mirage and baradari but I heard a word for TAGLIATTELLE which made me look again and I can’t fathom it out? It has a profile like no other but to be fair neither did cause of causes (same trainer) who won today but that was one of the reasons I backed it, it just stood out as being out of place and was a class horse so this horse is just nagging at me, any advice would be welcomed.
