Apr 8: Scottish Betting Preview

MrF_Celtic

CELTIC were held 1-1 by Partick Thistle three days after clinching the title and are seven league games away from an invincible season.

Brendan Rodgers’s side should beat Killie for the third time this season but are no bigger than 1-8 with the likes of bet365. Once again the manager will make changes and going through the campaign unbeaten isn’t his priority – that’s winning the Treble and preparing properly for the Champions League qualifiers.

In the absence of Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths I tipped Scott Sinclair to score first against Hearts and the Jags and he is 7-2 at bet365 to break the deadlock for the third time running.

Dembele is back in the squad so the best bet before having a bet is to see starting line-ups – Killie held Rangers in midweek but they too have their selection problems.

Partick Thistle are looking good for a top-six finish after one defeat in seven and will be confident at home to Motherwell. Consider the Jags at 21-20 with Unibet and look at under 2.5 goals at 5-6 with 888sport for the fifth Firhill meeting in a row between the teams.

The relegation race in the Championship remains fascinating with four points separating the bottom four.

For weeks I’ve been saying St Mirren will be safe and can climb off the foot by beating Dumbarton at home.

Saints were one of my top tips last week and duly routed Ayr 6-2. It won’t be as easy today with the Sons taking seven points in three meetings but I’m on the Paisley men at 17-20 with Marathonbet.

Both sides have netted in their last four games and I’ll be on that again at 4-5 with bet365.

Dunfermline can make themselves safe and leave Raith in a heap of trouble by winning the Fife derby. They are 5-6 at Stan James.

Ayr are odds-on favourites to go down and I fancy Queen of the South at 20-21 with Ladbrokes to beat them at Somerset.

At the other end of the table we have the Morton v Hibs grudge match. There’s no way this can be dull and back a red card if you can find a price.

The top two meet in League One and Livingston will clinch the title with a home win against Alloa. They are 13-20 with McBookie to be cracking open the bubbly.

In League Two the final promotion play-offs spot will go to Elgin or Montrose and they meet at Borough Briggs. Momentum is with Montrose who are going for four wins in a row. They are 3-1 at Marathonbet and Montrose draw no bet has a good chance at 15-8 with McBookie.

Berwick v Stirling looks good for over 2.5 goals at 13-20 with bet365 while Annan could put Clyde in more trouble at the wrong end of the table with a win at Broadwood. Best price is 41-20 with Marathonbet.
