TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR must get themselves up off the canvas in short order when they meet Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

Spurs crashed and burned to their first league defeat of the season in chaotic fashion as they went down 4-1 at home to Chelsea on Monday night.

That bruising setback coupled with results elsewhere last weekend means that Ange Postecoglou's side have also been knocked off their perch at the top of the Premier League table.

The Spurs chief is now tasked with lifting the spirits of his side ahead of this weekend’s visit to Wolves.

The Old Gold’s four-match unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an abrupt end in a 2-1 defeat at basement boys Sheffield United last Saturday.

That means Gary O’Neil’s men go into the latest round of action occupying 14th spot in the table, with a six point buffer over the bottom three.

Outright Betting

Each of Wolves’ last two home games have ended all square and the same outcome here can be backed at 13/5 (Bet 365) while a home win is trading at 2/1 (William Hill).

Tottenham Hotspur are 23/20 (Bet 365) favourites as they seek to make an immediate return to winning ways at Molineux.

Betting Angles

My recommended Bet Builder banked during  Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat against Chelsea on Monday night and I’m going to support a similar formula here at 20/21 (Bet 365) by combining Tottenham to Score alongside both Yves Bissouma and Mario Lemina to commit a foul.

While Ange Postecoglou's squad has been decimated by injuries and suspension ahead of this weekend’s trip to the Midlands, Spurs still pack enough punch up front to cause any side problems.

The capital club have scored in each of their 11 top-fixtures this season and they are certainly capable of keeping up that record against a Wolves side that have recorded just one clean sheet in their 11 league outings this term to date.

As such, I’ll back Postecoglou’s proactive approach to pay dividends in front of goal yet again, but to boost the odds, I’ll also back the aforementioned Bissouma and Lemina to commit at least one foul each.

Averaging 1.3 fouls per-game in the Premier League this season, Tottenham enforcer Bissouma should tackle his way into trouble at least once during this televised tussle.

Staying in the midfield battle-zone, I’ll also go with Wolves midfield warrior Mario Lemina – who is averaging 1.4 fouls per 90 in the top-flight this term – to be reprimanded at least once by referee Tim Robinson.

There is plenty of scope for this contest to be a high-octane affair and the above-mentioned Bet Builder looks enticing at a shade under evens.

Elsewhere, I’ll also take Tottenham’s Heung-min Son in the To Score or Assist market at 5/6 with Bet 365.

The Spurs skipper has eight goals and one assist to his name across his 11 top-flight appearances this term so he could represent a nice slice of value to have goal involvement against the Old Gold.
