WEST HAM and Leicester both made winning starts to the new season and that should lead to a lively contest between the pair at the London Stadium on Monday night.

The capital club exceeded expectations last term and they picked up where they left off with a thrilling 4-2 win at Newcastle, on an afternoon where both of my recommended bets banked.

David Moyes and Co will be hoping to build on that opening weekend success but a home match with Leicester will mark a step up in class for the Hammers.

The Foxes landed the FA Cup and fifth-placed finish last term but there was still a tinge of disappointment given that the last two seasons have ended in agonising near-misses on Champions League qualification.

However, the King Power Power outfit have recruited well once again and they could be best placed for another crack at breaking up last season's established top four.

A 1-0 win over Wolves was a positive start for Brendan Rodgers' side but West Ham will provide the Foxes with a stern early-season test of their top four credentials.

Outright Betting

The bookies are finding it hard to separate the teams with West Ham narrow favourites at 8/5 (William Hill) while the draw is priced up at 12/5 with the same firm.

Leicester lost both games between the sides last season and the Foxes head into this London Stadium showdown as marginal 9/5 (UniBet) outsiders.

Betting Angles

This looks like a tricky fixture to tackle from a betting perspective so I'm going to steer clear of the match result market and instead head to Bet 365‘s Bet Builder.

If we combine over zero Leicester goals and over three Leicester corners we will be presented with a nice looking 4/5 (Bet 365) play.

Leicester produced the majority of their best work away from home last season, avoiding defeat in 16/19 top-flight road trips and bagging 38 points in the process.

What's more, Brendan Rodgers' side made the net bulge in all but two Premier League matches away from their King Power base last season.

West Ham, on the other hand have posted a paltry one clean sheet across their last 12 Premier League assignments, not to mention 13/19 sides to visit this venue last season got on the scoreboard.

With all that in mind, I'll back the Foxes to grab at least one goal at the London Stadium, but I'll boost the price by throwing in over three Leicester corners.

Leicester were strong performers in the team corner markets last term with their 5.58 flag kick per-game average and it's worth noting that the top-heavy visitors have hit the 4+ line in each of their last nine league outings.

With all things considered, the 17/20 (William Hill) about over 2,5 goals also looks like an attractive betting proposition in what should be an open and entertaining early-season encounter

Goals were a regular feature in matches involving either of these two teams last term, with both sides seeing a joint league-high 24/38 league games generating three or more strikes.

Neither defence is watertight and each side is capable in attack so over 2.5 goals looks a solid wager in East London on Monday night.
