MANCHESTER CITY head to Porto with the heat off after qualifying for the Champions League last 16 with two games to go but this isn't a dead rubber as they will be out to secure top spot in Group C.

Since losing 3-1 at the Etihad on matchday one (below), the Portuguese side also haven't put a foot wrong in the section so a victory here would move them level on points with Pep Guardiola's men at the summit.

The City boss insists he won't be resting players here amidst a hectic fixture schedule so he should field a strong side before giving key men a breather in the final group game with whipping boys Marseille.

Guadiola's side found their groove again by battering Burnley 5-0 at the weekend and with players returning from injury they will be looking to build momentum heading into the festive season.

But they won't get it easy against a Porto side who have won six of their last seven in all competitions, keeping five clean sheets on the way.

How the bookies view it

This is a hard one to call with City already through but they are still odds-on favourites at a best 3/4 with Unibet while Porto are as big as 4/1 at McBookie. The draw is 31/10 at BetVictor and shouldn't be ruled out.

Team news

Sergio Aguero (below) missed the weekend win over Burnley through injury and is unlikely to feature but City defenders Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte could return.

Porto look set to be without veteran defender Pepe while Marko Grujic is suspended. Striker Moussa Marega and midfielder Mateus Uribe may be restored to the starting line-up.

Players to watch

Manchester City have looked much more dangerous since Gabriel Jesus' return from injury and the Brazilian is a tempting 7/5 with 888Sport for anytime scorer.

Luis Diaz scored Porto's goal at the Etihad with a superb solo run and looks a real livewire. The Colombian winger is 17/4 with 888Sport to score another in the return.

Anything else catch the eye?

Porto have netted in every game so far this season so both teams to score looks the shout, although it's not great value at 4/6 with McBookie. If you double that with over 2.5 goals it pays a fraction under evens.

We've seen so many penalties in the Champions League so far this season so it's always a good option to bet on one, especially with VAR's insidious presence and the new handball rules. A spot-kick to be awarded here pays 31/20 at Unibet.

I backed City to score in both halves against Olympiakos in their last Euro game, only for Guardiola's men to draw a blank after the break. The same bet pays 13/8 with William Hill for this one and is worth considering if the City boss picks his strongest team.
