EINTRACHT Frankfurt will be looking to further fuel their Bundesliga survival hopes when they welcome Mainz to the Commerzbank-Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Adi Hutter's troops looked like a team in a free-fall last week before going on to record back-to-back wins away at Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen respectively.

Consequently, the Eagles have shot up to 11th place in the Bundesliga table and they may yet harbour ambitions of getting involved in the scrap for a top-six finish.

Frankfurt will certainly be aiming to continue their upturn in form this weekend when they meet a Mainz outfit who are sliding towards the Bundesliga basement zone.

Achim Bieierlorzer's side are without a win in their last five league outings and that winless run has seen the Zerofivers fall to fifteenth place in the table where they sit just one point above Fortuna Dusseldorf who occupy the relegation playoff place.

Indeed, Mainz staged an impressive late comeback to draw 2-2 away at Cologne when the Bundesliga got back up and running however, home defeats against Leipzig and Hoffenheim either side of 1-1 draw with Union Berlin has seen the Rhine River outfit get dragged towards the top-flight trap door.

Outright Betting

Frankfurt are targeting a third win on the spin this weekend and the Eagles are Even-Money with Bet 365 to bag all three points.

A much-needed win for Mainz is an unfancied 9/4 with BetVictor and a share of the spoils is also big odds-against at 14/5 with the same bookmaker.

The Betting Angles

I  successfully backed Frankfurt to make the net bulge away at Werder Bremen on Wednesday night and I fancy Addi Hutter's men to make life difficult for a Mainz side who have the highest goals-against tally away from home in the Bundesliga.

Bieierlorzer's relegation-threatened strugglers have shipped 35 goals across 14 road trips to date – an average of 2.5 goals per game – and such defensive frailty does not bode well ahead of a clash with free-scoring Frankfurt at the Commerzbank-Arena.

Adit Hutter's team have hit 10 goals across their last four matches – including eye-catching braces away at both Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg – and I like the look of the 8/11 on offer with Bet 365 for Frankfurt to score two more goals in this tussle.

The hosts have hit 21 goals in their nine home games since the turn of the year – an average of 2.3 per outing – and Frankfurt can continue that sequence against one of the Bundesliga's most brittle backlines.

In considering who may get on the scoresheet here, value could lie with Frankfurt forward Andre Silva who can be backed at 6/4 with BetVictor to strike at anytime on Saturday afternoon.

The on-loan AC Milan striker has netted in each of his last three appearances for the Eagles and in doing so has taken his tally for the season to eight goals in 20 Bundesliga appearances this term.

Silva's red-hot form since the Bundesliga resumed has coincided with Frankfurt's recent signs of recovery and the Portuguese forwards purple patch could continue against confidence-stricken Mainz this weekend.

Whether or not Silva extends his scoring run remains to be seen, however, a home win here would all but secure Frankfurt's top-flight place for next season.
