TOTTENHAM are setting the early pace in the Premier League table and they will be hoping to maintain their place at the summit when they lock horns with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday lunchtime.

To some, Nuno Espirito Santo represented an underwhelming appointment by Spurs but the early signs are pretty promising under the Portuguese.

The capital club have responded well to Santo's counter-attacking style, grinding out 1-0 wins over Manchester City and Wolves in the process.

Table-topping Tottenham then made it a trio of 1-0 triumphs last time out against Watford, so they will make the short trip across the city in high spirits.

Patrick Viera's Crystal Palace tenure got off to a shaky start after a 3-0 loss at Chelsea was followed up with a goalless draw at home to newly-promoted Brentford.

However, the Eagles faithful will be encouraged from their spirited 2-2 draw with West Ham and they have since added more firepower to their ranks after Odsonne Edouard sealed a deadline day move to Selhurst Park.

Outright Betting

Crystal Palace have failed to topple Tottenham in each of the last 12 Premier League meetings and the hosts head into this all-London affair as 18/5 (SBK) outsiders.

Last season's corresponding fixture ended all square and repeat here pays 45/17 (SBK) while a Tottenham victory is trading at 13/14 (SBK) with the same firm.

Betting Angles

Tottenham are worthy favourites here but they are unlikely to have things all their own way so I'm going to swerve the match result market here and instead head to Bet 365‘s Bet Builder.

If we combine over zero Tottenham goals and each team to see at least one card we can get some 5/6 (Bet 365) and that looks like a nice way in.

New Tottenham chief Nuno has some serious firepower at his disposal and I fancy the in-form north Londoners to notch up at least on strike at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Spurs have scored just one goal in each of their three league outings so far but it's worth noting that the capital club have got on the scoresheet in each of their last 18 top-flight tussles.

With that in mind, I'll happily back Tottenham to breach a Crystal Palace backline that have shipped five goals across their opening three league games.

In order to give us a backable price, I'll also side with each team to see at least one card in what should be a closely-fought contest.

Indeed, referee Jon Moss' card counts are generally unremarkable but the Sunderland-born whistler has awarded both teams a booking in seven of his last nine Premier League outings.

What's more, the above-mentioned combination has clicked in each of Tottenham's opening three league games of the season and that only adds to the appeal of supporting the same formula in south London on Saturday.

I'll also head into the anytime goalscorer market and take the 23/20 on offer with UniBet for Tottenham striker Harry Kane to open his 2021-22 Premier League account.

The Spurs sharpshooter has scored in each of his last three appearances against Crystal Palace and after helping me on my way to a full house in Warsaw on Wednesday night, I'll happily back the Tottenham talisman to repeat the trick this weekend.
