CRYSTAL PALACE'S fine run of form came crashing to an end at Anfield in midweek and they now need to bounce back against Burnley to keep their hopes of European football alive.

The Eagles had won four in a row without conceding before their trip to Merseyside but were ripped apart by Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp's men claimed a 4-0 win that would see them be crowned champions just a day later.

Few teams would have been able to live with the Reds that night, however, so the defeat shouldn't damage morale too much as Palace prepare to face a Burnley side with Euro aspirations of their own.

Only goal difference is keeping the Eagles above Sean Dyche's side in 10th place after the Clarets claimed an impressive 1-0 win over Watford on Thursday.

I fancied the Hornets to win that one, with Burnley down to the bare bones due to injuries and contract stand-offs, but the character in Dyche's side shone through.

It will take another huge effort to claim a win at Selhurst Park but the Clarets seem to thrive when their backs are up against the wall.

How the bookies view it

Palace's fine form before Anfield makes them favourites for this one at a best 27/20 with SportNation and I will have a nibble at that price. The draw shouldn't be ruled out and is 9/4 with Unibet while Burnley are 5/2 with BetVictor.

Recent head to head

Crystal Palace have bossed this fixture of late, winning the last four meetings. They triumphed 2-0 at Turf Moor earlier this season (below) and won by the same score in last term's clash at Selhurst Park.

But prior to that poor run, Burnley won three in a row against the Eagles so Palace have only just edged the head-to-head over the last four seasons.

Players to watch

Palace talisman Wilf Zaha was forced off early at Anfield with a calf problem and is a doubt for this one along with Christian Benteke. Neither has been a prolific scorer this term and their main man for goals has been Jordan Ayew.

The Ghana striker needs one more strike to get into double figures for the season and is a decent 9/4 with Bet365 to get it here.

Jay Rodiguez nodded home Burnley's winner in midweek, bringing up my tip of a header to be scored, but then went off injured and is a doubt for this game.

It's another blow for boss Dyche with Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes, Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady likely to miss out again as they step up their recoveries.

Matej Vydra is Burnley's only fully-fit striker so looks their best bet for a goal at 3/1 with 888Sport.

Anything else catch the eye?

Neither side is renowned for playing exciting football so I'm not expecting too many neutrals to tune in on Amazon prime. Betting against a goal in each half paid off for me in Burnley's clash with Watford and a repeat here pays 8/11 with Paddy Power.

I can't see there being many goals but under 2.5 strikes is sadly a best 3/5 with Bet Victor. Instead try a one-goal winning margin for either team which pays 6/5 at Betway.
