Two of the most in-form teams in the National League clash as Wrexham host Halifax Town on Tuesday. Both sides have shown similar form in recent weeks but Wrexham will be banking on home advantage to give them the edge here.

Wrexham are coming off a disappointing 0-0 draw at Bromley in their previous National League fixture. They were not at their best but still had a few chances to score with Aaron Hayden and Max Cleworth heading over.

Sitting fourth on the table, Wrexham are vying for a playoff finish and manager Phil Parkinson will consider that result as a minor blip. They had won their previous five National League matches and will be confident of picking up another win on Tuesday.

The Racecourse Ground has been a fortress for Wrexham who have suffered just one home defeat all season. They have also won five of their last six matches in front of their fans and claimed a 4-2 victory over fellow playoff hopefuls Boreham Wood in their previous fixture at home.

Halifax Town are also having a fine campaign and sit third on the table, seven points behind leaders Stockport County. They have shown similar form to Wrexham and travel to the Racecourse Ground on a five-match winning streak.

The Shaymen head into Tuesday’s clash off the back of a 2-0 home victory over Torquay United in their previous National League fixture. They were frustrated for much of the first half but came to life after the break with Billy Waters and Gerry McDonagh getting their goals.

While Halifax Town have reasons to be pleased with their recent showings, they have not been particularly convincing on their travels. Peter Wild’s men have claimed just two wins from their last six away matches in the National League.
